The hosts were extremely gracious, friendly, and very accommodating (especially with our early am arrival time). The suite had gorgeous rustic antique styling, the place was spotless, the bed cozy, and a great rain shower after a day of traveling. We had a delicious farm to table breakfast both days with sausage so good I don't think any other will compare in my life. For my husband's birthday, they had left us cookies, wine, and a birthday card which was so nice and unexpected. We had such a great time socializing learning about the farm. No internet, tv, or cell service - but I was happy to be disconnected for a little while. They went above and beyond what I would expect from a host. We really could not ask for anything more! Overall a great experience and I'd love to visit again.
beautiful location felt like being in the hills of Scotland, very thoughtfully set up and great information on the nearby area from Tom and Denise... all around perfect
Last weekend we stayed at the Stone and Thistle Farm. What a special and wonderful getaway! Both the Farm itself and its location are beautiful. The suite we stayed in (private rooms - including bedroom, library and bathroom - located off the main house, with a separate entrance) was large, very tastefully done, clean, comfortable and cozy. The settling was gorgeous and we had a chance to take look walks, enjoy the fall weather and the views, and interact with the farm animals. The breakfast was included and we also arranged for a private dinner. The food on both occasions was fresh and delicious. We only wish we lived closer and could go to Fable (a real farm to table!) on a regular basis. Denise and Tom were welcoming and gracious hosts. We could not have asked for a more perfect stay. We hope to come back for another visit. Thank you!
We recently stayed for one night at Stone and Thistle Farm; it was our pleasure to stay there, with our only regret being that we couldn't stay longer! The lodgings were clean, spacious, and well-appointed-- not only did we have a huge bathroom, but our room had an attached library! Denise served us a fantastic breakfast in the morning of truly farm-to-table food, and offered up some awesome advice for the trip back, which were spot on. I would book again in a heartbeat.
We had the best weekend at the Warren family farm. Denise, Shane, and Tom were warm and welcoming. We stayed in a private quarter off the main house. It was tastefully decorated and very cozy--just the right size for us and our small daughter. The farm itself is beautiful, and all of us loved interacting with the animals (make sure to sign up for the farm tour if you are there over the weekend!). They also have a gorgeous cafe on the property where Denise cooks up delicious breakfasts, and a farm stand where you can stock up on fresh eggs, meat and other prepared foods from the farm. We've been going to the area for years, but Denise guided us to some wonderful places we'd never even heard of! We're looking forward to our next visit. A true treasure.
What an amazing place to stay. The farm is so peaceful, and Denise and Tom ate fantastic hosts. We loved starting there instead of the crazy ness of vooperstown, for induction weekend. Highly recommend for a slice of heaven. (limited cell/Internet service, and no TV was outstanding)
The Stone and Thistle Farm is amazing - quiet country setting, and beautiful property. Everything was very clean and we loved the sitting room/library. The breakfast was AMAZING - most of the items had been picked or gathered on the property that morning. We enjoyed sitting on the property after being out and about. Bring a cooler - they have a farm store and you'll definitely want to take home the delicious products raised on the farm. Tom and Denise were great hosts!

Farm owner with husband Tom Warren and son Shane of Stone & Thistle Farm, a grass based livestock farm, Kortright Creek Creamery, a goat dairy and small creamery and Fable=farm+table - a seasonal on-farm restaurant. We are passionate about farming, great food and sharing with our community. Our busiest time of the year is May to October when we do farmers markets, farm tours, dinners and brunch and Fable, farm events, farm chores, projects, building, repairing, vetting, gardening - but we are never too busy to meet new people and learn something new and different. As a guest on our farm, you can participate in farm chores or relax on the farm, eat great farm fresh food, enjoy nearby hiking, swimming, skiing or shopping for books, antiques, visiting farmers markets, museums or state parks.
