About this listing
We are happy to welcome you in the Air BnB private room; perfect for business and leisure travelers. The room is equiped with a queen size Temper-pedic bed, a futon, a coffee station, furniture for your clothes, Wi-fi and cable TV.
I am glad to finally have the opportunity to welcome someone in our beautiful place. Many years of working in the hotel industry led me to want this experience.
My roommate and I had a vision; its about bringing conversation back to the travel experience. We believe the little things matter; like a fresh pot of coffee in the morning; but also the big things like making sure your experience at our place surpasses your expectations.
Renting the room gives you access to Wi-Fi, cable TV, the kitchen (with all its amenities), bathroom (bath and shower), the dining room (table for 6), washer and dryer, as well as maps of the city and the neighborhood.
And why not use the espresso machine, the wine cellar, the refrigerator, make yourself at home.
Interaction with Guests
You will be buisy visiting beautiful Montreal and I will do the same, while finishing my thesis. if time permits, it would be a pleasure to have a glass of wine or tea together :)
What I love about our neighborhood is how it is close enough to the big downtown (4 metro stations to "Berri-UQAM") yet far enough to have a quiet night of sleep as well as free parking. Also, we are right beside a cycling path and a Bixie station.
There is a fine artisanal bakery, a microbrewery, a fresh fruit and vegetable store, a nice coffee shop and all the fun things walking distance from our Air BnB.
There is a bus (34) accross the street or the metro station 10 minutes walk.
We do expect a few things from you. Its quite simple; we want to enjoy the experience; therefore we want to be treated with respect just as you should expect the same. We also don't want any issues with the payement methods. Lets make this experience simple, comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.
Laura and Melanie were amazing. They had all sorts of tips and information laid out in an organized book with maps and diagrams and they were happy to answer any questions we had. It was honestly better than any hotel I've been in. Definitely much more personal and cozy. There was coffee and tea right in the room, soaps and towels if you needed, an AC you could control and they even had mints on the pillows ;) Also there was a Bixi bike station right on the block and they were right next to a bike path that led into the city center. This was great because it was a little bit of a walk from the metro, but definitely doable. Laura even taught us some French phrases so we could get around. We had a great time in Montreal in large part to these accommodations.
MERCI à mélanie et laura pour leur très gentil accueil.
merci à mélanie pour les explications et pour la petite liste des "choses" à voir. la vue en au de mont royal est très belle.
l'appartement est très sympa.
Melanie gave us a warm welcome. The room and the apartment were very nice and we could easily feel at home. Right after our arrival Melanie told us the "things-to-do" in Montreal - very detailed and in a way that you immediately wanted to start exploring Montreal. Her roommate, Laura, was really easy-going and we had nice talks with her. We absolutely can recommend Melanie's room!
Staying with Melanie was wonderful. My friends and I came to Montreal from Waterloo, Ontario to visit the Ile Soniq festival this year and Melanie made sure that our experience was met to our standards. If I return to Montreal, I will be sure to try and stay with Melanie again. Highly recommend to others.
My fiance and I had an absolutely wonderful stay with Melanie and Laura in Montreal. First, the location. It was very close to a bus line that went directly to the metro, was only a 10-minute walk to the station when weather permitted, and Bixi bikes were located right across the street. We felt very safe walking around at all hours, and there were a lot of restaurants and bars within walking distance.
Second, Melanie and Laura were extremely welcoming an friendly. They presented us with a map of the city and a bucket list of activities. They also offered us delicious suggestions for where to eat and drink. We had a fun time celebrating my birthday with them by staying in and sampling some amazing Quebec beers and discussing Canadian and American politics until the wee hours of the morning.
Third, the room was comfortable, clean, and perfect for our needs. Thank you, Melanie and Laura, for sharing your home with us and teaching us about Quebecois culture. My fiance and I are both from old school Couchsurfing, and we remarked to each other later that this made us nostalgic for those times.
Melanie is a very warmhearted host and the place was lovely clean and cozy! Definitely will come back here if I visit Montreal again :)
