Beautiful, 3 bd, 3 ba villa with views + lush garden & salt water pool is a 5 min drive from Ubud. Breakfast, staff & taxes included. Incredibly peaceful energy. Great staff! Large bedrooms, guesthouse, jungle & paddy vus.
Gorgeous villa and and property 5 min drive to downtown Ubud, (2 km). The house has a lush, large garden which includes a salt water pool and renovated Balinese Rice Barn, in which there is a bedroom up in the trees and a living space with kitchenette, lounge area, and garden bathroom underneath next to the pool.
The main villa includes 2 large bedroom/living spaces with their own bathrooms and separate entrances.
The downstairs bedroom has AC, and the rest of the house is cooled with large windows, constant breezes, doors and ceiling fans.
The common living area is on the wraparound veranda overlooking the jungle and lush garden.
The kitchen has just been remodeled and has a walk-in pantry.
There is a laundry room with washing machine and dryer.
The house comes with a kitty named Cleopatra and a staff of 2 Balinese angels. "Made" comes for 4-5 hours per day to keep the villa sparkling clean and to prepare your breakfast. She is available to work additional hours, and can prepare additional meals and do laundry for a reasonable fee that I let her negotiate with you.
There is also a gardener included and a driver who is paid on a per use basis. His rates are very reasonable. He can be on call to take you into town or take you around the island. Airport pickup is $35, drop off is $30.
Wifi and telephone are included as are utilities and taxes.
The best part of this villa is the lush garden and flowers and sparkling salt water pool (3x9 meters). And its feeling of seclusion while being only 2km from town. It faces the jungle on one side and has rice paddies on the other 3 sides.
The villa has a lovely covered wraparound veranda with ceiling fans.
The kitchen is adjacent to a small open courtyard and the dining room is open on one side to the jungle.
Downstairs is a large room with an antique javanese 4-poster bed, lounging/movie watching area, and desk. There is a large beautiful bathroom done in lava rock.
Upstairs (with separate entrance) is also large with high wood ceilings and beautiful rice paddy and jungle views and a covered balcony. Many windows, bright and breezy. King size hand carved Balinese bed, reading area, wood desk, ensuite bathroom with tub/shower combo.
The traditional Balinese Lumbong/guesthouse in the garden is a delightful bedroom up in the trees overlooking the pool and rice paddies. Underneath there is a small kitchen and a lounging/sleeping area with mosquito net. There is a lovely open garden bathroom with a waterfall shower. Airbnb did not include photos of the bathroom or lounging area in the bale, so if you email me I can send photos separately. Shower under the stars!
I recently installed air conditioning downstairs in this villa although it is rarely needed.
The villa is built in an open air style and the breezes blow through, and especially with the porch it stays comfortably cool. Ceiling fans in each room, even the kitchen.
There are 2 small restaurants a 5-minute stroll away. And Ubud, a 5 min drive away, is full of cafes and restaurants. Many restaurants deliver to the villa with just a phone call.
Cleopatra, the house kitty is very affectionate and keeps the critter population down and the affection factor up.
We recommend you rent bicycles or scooters to make your stay really special. Only $5 per day and by far the most fun way to see the town.
You can arrange a driver to pick you up for a reasonable rate.
There is a safe for your valuables in each bedroom.
You will LOVE this villa!

Entire villa including laundry room, guest house, and salt water pool.
Interaction with Guests
Interaction with guests: I have a management company that does onsite management when guests are there. And "Made" loves to practice her English with guests and to take care of them as if they were family. When I am there and renting out part of the villa, I work quietly and value my privacy. I interact with the guests briefly each day and am open to dinner out with them on occasion. For 9 months of the year I am gone, and rent out the entire villa when I am away.
Very peaceful and serene, while just 5 minutes from busy downtown Ubud.
We have English-speaking drivers who can take you anywhere for a very reasonable fee, and we can arrange a scooter and car rentals.
Other Things to Note
Besides being beautiful, this property has the most amazing peaceful energy! There is a house kitty named Cleopatra and she is very affectionate and talkative. Kitchen has a vita mixer, toaster, toaster oven, juicer, and a dehydrator, refrigerator/freezer, and dry cabinet.
Rates are for up to 4 guests. Each additional guest is $20 more per night. Villa comfortably sleeps 6 (3 couples) in 3 large beds, and can accommodate up to 8 if the lounge/bed with mosquito net in the lounge area under the guesthouse is used.
Smoking outside only please.
Please be respectful of neighbors and of the culture in general by maintaining the peace of this area. (i.e. no loud parties please)
Bring copy of your passport to give to "Made" after your arrival. The law in Bali is that guests must be registered with the police within 24 hours of check in. "Made" will take care of this for you.
Please pet and love Cleopatra, the house cat if she comes around.
Ask "Made" to show you how to use the washing machine and dryer. She stays busy with the cleaning and breakfast preparations 4-5 hours per day, but is available to work more hours if you wish ( preparing additional meals, shopping, etc are extra services but her rates for additional tasks are incredibly low). I let her negotiate the price for extra services with you.
The villa was nicely presented with images online a good representation, with very much a traditional Balinese feel. The space was suitable for our party of five. As in the description, there is a house cat and this proved somewhat of an annoyance as it would come in the bedrooms if doors not closed at all times, an in particular the third room which had a slight gap above the door which could not be covered. There are two cafés nearby however our experience was they closed by 8pm and it was a very dark ten minute walk with several stay dogs - we did not repeat this walk. The resort is relaxing in that it is not on the main drag but you will need to rely on paying for a driver to and from the city centre.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay in the Bali Buddha Villa. And yes, Cleopatra the house cat, is quite affectionate and loves to come in at night. I have found that the villa is the perfect location for a stay in Ubud as anything in town is simply too much in the center of things - the world is coming to Ubud these days with the accompanying traffic snarls and noise - and the villa is wonderfully located just a 5 minute drive from town, but many miles away energetically and the perfect sanctuary - close but not too close. :) We look forward to your next visit to Ubud.
The reservation was canceled 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The stay at this villa was wonderful, the photos do not do the place justice it is so beautiful and attention to detail in terms of the beauty of the place overwhelming- the villa looks over the rice fields and the banana and coconut trees - we could have stayed in the villa all week and never gone anywhere and enjoyed ourselves, although too much to do and see to do that, the breakfasts were wonderful and different each day and the staff were kind and lovely. They also charged very reasonably for extra meals not part of the deal that were delicious and healthy. I am not a fan of hotels so this was for me the perfect place to stay in Ubud. We did walk into Ubud and is not too far so long as is not too hot.
My daughter and I stayed at Robin's villa in August. It was a wonderful experience. The villa is beautiful and just as it is described on the website. It is near enough to walk to Ubud and far enough away to be very quiet in a beautiful tranquill setting. The pool is a good size and salt water makes all the difference. We had everything we needed and were looked after wonderfully by Made who gave us amazing breakfasts and Wayan who helped with transport and anything else we needed. I would fully recommend this place to stay.
I stayed there for 5 days. This place is amazing. In the middle of the rice paddy and the jungle.
The villa is very clean and all the facilities are beautiful and well thinking.
Also, Made (the maid) and Wayan (the driver), are very friendly, with good advices. You feel at home
Robin answers very quickly and gives you many good tips
I'm a travel writer who lives in Bali, Istanbul, and California. I provide vacation rentals much like the ones I like to stay in when I travel. It is my dream that by 'living' in places as opposed to staying in hotels, we will begin to see our world as Oneworld.
