The space

Riad ESSAADA is ideal for those seeking a place to rest, quiet, close to the monuments and essential places of Marrakech.

We have five rooms and suites with private bathrooms and air conditioning. Breakfast is included and is served in the sun on the terrace or in the patio, sheltered from the mandarin and olive trees.

We can arrange your transfer from the airport to the Riad.
On arrival you will be welcomed as friends with traditional Moroccan hospitality around a tea and Moroccan pastries. In your room you will find complimentary bottled water.

With its traditional architecture, Riad ESSAADA is a small oasis of freshness and tranquility, a few minutes walk from the colorful and noisy chaos of the souks. Once at the Riad, relax in bhou (outdoor lounge) in the shaded patio, refresh yourself in the 3x2m pool, read or play the corner of a chimney fire in the indoor lounge or enjoy the sun on the terrace and the view of the snowy Atlas.
Relax in our Hammam and go through the expert hands of khadija for a relaxing massage.
Afterwards, you can enjoy lunch or dinner in a typical and traditional meals crafted by our cook.
The area offers a wide variety of restaurants (Cafe Arabe, Bougainvillea, Terrace Spice).

We can also organize day trips (Ourika Valley, the Ouzoud, Essaouira, Quad ...) or more days to the desert. (Zagora, Rose Valley ...)

Essaada Riad is very well located in the heart of the medina in the secure area of Mouassine 8 minutes walk from the famous Jemaa El Fna Square. I have never written a bad word about my experiences at Airbnb, and in many regards, this was a beautiful space and perfect accommodation. That being said, from the beginning of our experience staying in this riad, it was confusing and frustrating. We stayed in 3 other airbnb riads in Morocco and had no issues like this. We never really met the owners, or, they never introduced themselves. The night before our arrival, I emailed them and never heard something back, so we never set up a pick-up from the train station... we had to pay a teenager on the street to show us how to access the street (even though we were staying in this part of Marrakech the week prior), and it was very frustrating to find. A lot of riads in Morocco have signs in the medina pointing to the direction of their location (because of the winding streets) and that would have been an easy fix for this problem. Even after 4 days we were continually perplexed on the location of this riad. Additionally, we had no phone in Morocco and gave a 70 year old family friend our riad owner's number to communicate with us on a meeting time, and it took them 2 days to tell us she had called! It was very frustrating and we almost missed the opportunity to see our friend. Also, they never told us they provided hammam services, and we would have LOVED to plan an evening at home with this. It just felt like something was missing—a welcome packet, instructions... a hello and introduction? Very simple things that anyone would expect—no matter the language. Thankfully, they were able to set us up with a VERY early pick-up for our flight home, and that was wonderful. I cannot tell you enough how BEAUTIFUL this space is... but all-in-all I feel really let down. The other reviewers had a very different experience from me, and I'm really sad to write this and wish it were not the case.

Our holiday at Riad Essada was a dream. The Riad is beautiful, more so than the pictures suggest. The breakfasts every morning were delicious with a taste of different local flavours every morning. Elyze and Philippe go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect and help where ever they can. They supported us with our trip to Ouzoud falls, Atlas Mountains and a pool retreat just outside of town. No question went unanswered and help was always at hand. I would highly recommend the Riad to a friend!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Riad ESSAADA, and felt very welcomed by Elyz and Phillipe. It is a clean and quiet place in the middle of the hectic medina. The breakfest is homemade and good. They are very helpful to arrange daytrips and recommendations. The first time the Riad can be hard to find so we were very happy that we said yes to get picked up at the airport and followed to the door. The only trouble we had was the Wi-Fi connection which wasn't that good. I would like to stay here again on my next visit to Marrakech.
