Charming one bedroom apt in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood - walk to downtown and lots of great restaurants, concert venues and parks!
Come spend a few nights in my cozy apartment in the historic Hamilton building. Originally built in 1901 and remodeled with modern amenities, this is a great, centrally located place to explore central Denver. A Denver historic landmark building, the Hamilton was originally a brothel (neat!) and has hardwood floors, dark wood trim, and exposed brick.
There's a full kitchen with a dishwasher, and lots of pots and pans, blender, cooking supplies, spices, etc - in case you feel like making a meal. There's also a washer/dryer in the basement available to you.
The bedroom has a king size bed that's very comfortable, and there's a couch in the living room if you want to squeeze in an extra person. There's also plenty of room for an air mattress in the office it you're really wanting to maximize space/people. There's also a desk/office area if you need to get some work done while you're here.
I don't have tv, but there is high speed wireless internet, and a monitor to plug in your computer. I also have a DVD player and a selection of movies, cd player/stereo that has an auxilary cord to plug in your phone/ipod/etc.
Located at the corner of Colfax and Humboldt, this apartment is a block from several main bus lines, and walking distance from downtown and uptown, with many, many restaurants, bars, and fun shops close by. There's also a bike sharing station nearby, and several carshare programs that are easy to use and set up for your stay.
I've lived in this neighborhood for years, and I love the way it's transforming. It's centrally located, close to Cheesman Park if you want to go for a jog or lay in the sun. There are a ton of really great restaurants within walking distance, and a short jog downtown. It's got just enough grit and character to make it interesting, in my opinion.
It's super easy to get around on public transportation in this neighborhood. The #15 bus will take your right downtown in about 10 minutes, and runs all night long. There are also several nearby B-Cycle stations (our bike sharing program), so you can use that to get around in the spring and summer months.
You'll have access to the whole apartment and all of the amenities listed. There's a secure entrance in the front of the building and you'll have keys to come and go as you please.
Interaction with Guests
I can either meet you to check you in and orient you in the neighborhood, or I can leave you a key for easy pickup whenever you like. I'm happy to answer questions or orient you in the neighborhood, but my interaction with guests is typically pretty limited outside of check in, check out, and restaurant/bar recommendations.
This neighborhood is my favorite part of Denver! It's a little bit gritty in places, but very much up and coming, with everything you need within a short walk. Restaurants, music venues, shopping, coffee, groceries, etc -- all within a short walk.
Parking for this space is on the street. Parking can sometimes be tough in this area on weekend nights, but I can almost always find a spot within a couple blocks. It's very centrally located as well, so my recommendation is to find a spot for the night and then use the many bus lines ore rentable bikes to get around to all the restaurants, bars, and other attractions downtown.
Other Things to Note
You're welcome to engage in Denver's new recreational products in the space. Please be safe/careful, and also mindful of future guests by not smoking on the day of checkout, and by keeping windows open when you're partaking.
I used to have two cats living in this space (as you might see in the early reviews), but we've moved across the hall as of March 2014, so disregard the reviews about cats in this unit.
No cigarette smoking. Quiet hours for the building are between 10pm and 7am, so no crazy loud parties while you're there.

Sarah's apartment was perfect and felt just like home. Conveniently located, anywhere you could not walk was a short car ride or enjoyable bike ride away. Voodoos doughnuts across the street! Parking was never a hassle if you plan on brining a vehicle. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Denver.
Sarah's apartment was wonderful! It was the perfect space for two visiting Denver. Everything was well stocked and easy to use, and the apartment itself was easy to locate. My favourite thing about this place is all the arts and craft stuff she has in the apartment! A great way to pass the time if you're snowed in. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
Sarah had a beautiful place with a great layout. She had clean sheets and towels available for us and was able to accommodate us even at short notice. The location was in a very central part of town. The price is great too. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!
Sarah was an excellent host. Everything was ready for us when we arrived, and the space itself was absolutely gorgeous. My friends and I loved jamming to the Stones and Springsteen on the record player and writing on the chalkboard. We had an incredible first stay in Denver, and staying in this spot (which is conveniently located in a great area next to the amazing Voodoo Donuts) was a wonderful bonus. I highly recommend everyone check out this affordable, beautiful space.
Amazing place, great area! The layout is comfortable and cozy. Great food's close by all around. An awesome apartment to spend a snow day!

Originally from Portland, OR, I've made my home in Denver, CO for the last several years. I work for a craft events company that creates festivals and other fun things in town, and I work a lot in the local food and brewery scene, connecting farms and breweries with restaurants. I love to cook, knit, craft, see live music, and play outside.
