Guesthouse 1x6 is a unique family-run boutique bed&breakfast designed and created by a local artist, located in the old cultural part of the town of Keflavik - Iceland, overlooking the ocean and surrounded by museums, restaurants and much more! Yukiyo and Andi - a binational couple from Japan and Switzerland - are now owning and running Guesthouse 1x6. They moved to Iceland in 2015 as they truly love this stunning country. They have invited international artists to create more artwork at Guesthouse 1x6. Catalonian artist David Juarez Ollé and Philadelphia based artist Gillian Pokalo have added beautiful art in the house. As a flowing river, the creation of art will never fully stop at 1x6.

In 2018, this little gem has just received the Traveller's Choice Award from TripAdvisor for the 3rd year in a row, and is now proud to be No.1 of all bed & breakfast in Iceland as well as No. 10 in Europe.

Both in summer & winter, Guesthouse 1x6 is a perfect base if you want to see Iceland on day trips and stay in paradise. Here are some suggestions for easy day trips:
- Visit the Blue Lagoon geothermal bath (don't forget to pre book your entry ticket online!)
- Explore the beauty of Reykjanes peninsula with geothermal areas and beautiful Lake Kleifarvatn
- Drive the Golden Circle Tour
- see the stunning waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss in the south of Iceland
- go shopping in quirky Reykjavik city

Ecological Guesthouse 1x6 was created by local artist Daniel Hjörtur Sigmundsson, who creates out of what he has in his hands at any given time, reusing, recycling, creating an alternative to whatever is inside the box, refined and polished. His aim was to to make a difference in creating an environment that gives people the feeling of love, care, warmth and that we should always put an effort to our everyday life, it is the now that matters.

1x6 Guesthouse was wonderful. We had a great time. It is a unique spot close to many wonderful activities, and the hot pot was a real added bonus. Breakfast was really great and they accommodated my needs for gluten free food well.

This place in Keflavik was just lovely. We did not get to spend as much time as we liked because we arrived late and had an early morning flight the next day. We took 2 rooms and they were very comfortable and the decor was very creative and beautiful. Magdelena made us feel v…
