Dennis' place is exactly as pictured and worked great for my husband and I. We stayed for one month and found Dennis to be extremely friendly, approachable, and accommodating. The parking was, at times, annoying but everyone in the house is available and accommodating! Laundry and detergent is included which is a huge bonus for long term rentals. Water pressure in the shower is amazing!

Dennis' place is a great value! My husband and I stayed for a whole month and just loved the location. Arlington is very quiet, safe, and charming -- we especially loved walking to the Minute Man Bikeway for jogging or strolling, and that there were a few neighborhood restaurants within an easy walk as well. Perhaps not an ideal solution for travelers trying to maximize their visit to Boston (a 20-30min drive to downtown), but for us, a perfect fit to enjoy the city during a longer stay and get away to disconnect, too. Despite some noisy old pipes and several housemates in the separate rentals in the house upstairs, this basement apartment is cozy, private, and clean; not exactly a luxury rental, but well outfitted for cooking and daily life. We were very comfortable; there is plenty of hot water, and it's not drafty like some basements can be. Dennis is just the nicest guy and was always easy to get in touch with (we sent a message to request an extra heater and he brought it to us literally within minutes!). For the easy-going, budget-conscious traveler, highly recommend!!

Dennis was constantly in touch before my arrival, which was important to me since I was arriving on an international flight late at night, and in fact turned up at the flat at midnight so it was great to be greeted at that late hour.

Dennis was really welcoming and very friendly/communicative. The house was a disappointment overall mostly bc of how dirty it was. There were some problems like a leaky sink that were fixed right away and others like a circuit breaker problem took over a week to fix and I didn't have a light in the bathroom for that time.

Response from Dennis And Shirley:
I make a point not to respond to negative reviews, but I am making an exception this time. Taylor communicated none of her issues to me, despite my requests for feedback. We supplied her with a light for the bathroom, and I gave her $100 refund because of her 'inconvenience'. None of the personal feedback she gave me on this site after she left was true. I discovered after she left, that the cause of the plumbing problem was an enormous amount of 'paper products' lodged in the drain downstream from the toilet, which horribly affected the next guest when the toilet exploded, costing me over $1000 to fix. I can only guess that her negativity was a preemptive strike.
