This is CLINT EASTWOOD'S town. Cabin guests will often bump into him around town. We're a 10 min. walk to the post office, and the cabin is situated near and overlooking the Pebble Beach Forest Conservancy. Spotting Bambi in the woods is likely, too.

The Space

ASK ABOUT OUR TWO-NIGHT SPECIAL: Book two nights and receive a discount on the nightly rate (offer good through December 2014 and for four nights only). Let me know first before actually booking and I'll manually enter the special rate of $115/night instead of $125.

You'll find our Bungalow is . . . Simple. Comfortable. Cozy (250 sq ft) and Quiet -- plus minutes from downtown and spectacular sand beaches. Decorated with a local artist's work in addition to a few quirky collectibles, the bungalow overlooks the Pebble Beach Forest Conservancy in a quiet residential neighborhood, but you'll find yourself very close to all the Peninsula has to offer.

Want to look out on the forest? Want to watch birds whiz by with squirrels nearby? You can, yet we're so close to town, it takes 10 minutes to walk to the post office. Also, you might like to know Carmel has been voted one of the Top Ten Dog Friendly places in the country. WOOF! So, bring your dog.

Please check the CALENDAR tab above to determine whether we've been booked.

We provide a modest Continental breakfast to get you started in the morning . . . coffee, tea, fruit, yogurt and biscotti! No kitchen is available, but there is a microwave, small refrigerator, kettle, coffee pot and toaster, and dishes - ideal for take out.

You'll be located on the same property as our family home, but totally detached from the house (about 50 steps down from the parking area) and with no other guests to disturb you.

We're long-time residents, knowledgeable about the area and able to help you find some of the many unique spots guidebooks don't mention.

A third person may be accommodated on a very thick futon ($25/visit).

We are Pet Friendly and would love to entertain your beloved Fido as well. However, for those of you who have allergies, please keep in mind that Pets have been in the room previously.

If you're visiting California's central coast for the first time, you'll find Carmel and the surrounding area an idyllic haven boasting nearly 100 miles of spectacular shoreline - described as the 'greatest meeting of land and sea.' The unbridled beauty of Carmel and Monterey County's landscape and the mild, year-round weather offer endless opportunities for outdoor pursuits. Family-centered activities abound and there truly is something for everyone.

Also, check out my Guidebook. Don't miss the Mission San Antonio de Padua which sits in the Valley of the Oaks on what was once the Milpitas unit of the Hearst Ranch. Of all the missions, this is my favorite . . . partly because it is in the middle of nowhere and also because the restoration was more sensitive to the Mission's style . . . in other words, it doesn't look like Disneyland.

Interaction with Guests

Along with my cat, I usually "meet and greet" guests when they arrive and my brother and I are usually around for any questions guests might have. During their stay, I prefer to allow guests their privacy.

The Neighborhood

The cabin is situated in a residential neighborhood facing the Pebble Beach Forest Conservancy across from a little used road (Pescadero).

Getting around

It's a 10 minute walk to town and a 20 minute walk to the beach. Bus routes are within a 5 minute walk. If you're coming by train, the train has a bus service which will drop you in Monterey where I can pick up and drop off guests.

  • My husband, puppy, and I stayed with Shelley for one night and it was everything we wanted/needed it to be! She was a great host - Shelley was very accommodating of our late arrival and urged us not to feel rushed on our drive up which was very appreciated! The place was great! - just as pictured. Very cute and cozy. Convenient, scenic location. We would stay here again!

  • Shelley was a great host, had a few really nice tips on what to do in the area -- the house is super cozy and relaxing. Couldn't have asked for more! Thank you

  • Shelley is such a great, friendly host! She had the house ready for us, with fruit, Italian short bread and yogurts in the fridge! So perfect for our late arrival.

And the place is so cute, comfy and cozy! And just a couple of min away from the cozy downtown Carmel. Def will recommend to anyone and everyone!

  • It was a beautiful little treehouse! It was relaxing and easy to get to. It was close by everything in Carmel!

  • Shelley was very flexible with our late arrival and friendly to show us the room and give us a few tips about the area. Everything went very good and we were very happy about staying in the tree-like house. We had all the confort we needed and even a small breakfast!

  • What lovely hosts - warm, friendly and welcoming, but never intrusive. The tree house was cute, quirky and cosy and we would definitely stay again. It's not luxury, but they don't claim to be, and the accommodation had everything we could ask for. Walking into Carmel was easy and the location amongst the big pine trees was superb. Loved it!

  • Nice forest mini house and best welcome!

    June 2014
  • Shelley place is in the forest with beautiful views.
She and her brother were very pleasant people.
The neighborhood Windee roads were lovely.
My allergies made it impossible to stay more than one night.
A large shedding dog had stayed for a week before I arrived. Shelley and her brother did all they could to air out the room and have it clean for me but the smell and dander was just too much for my asthma:(

  • We had a wonderful experience and our hostess could not be more gracious and accommodating. The location is beautiful.

Have lived EVERYWHERE, but no where long enough to call it home. Love accents from Georgia and Texas (was born in TX); love Trillium, Hosta and Ramps (from North Carolina) . . . loved living in a REAL log cabin (in Ohio) . . . and, I could eat a Mango everyday the rest of my life . . . may I be so lucky! My brother and I love living here, as did my dad after he built our house for my mom in the 60's. Like many others in this country, Tom and I both thought we'd be retired by now. The joke's on us I guess. No matter, we've met some wonderful and interesting people while hosting Airbnb guests from all over the world. We hope you'll be one of them.
