WELCOME TO OUR FLAT!
We offer a nice and welcoming apartment for 2 (one double bedroom)+2 (sofa bed) persons in the neighbourhood of „Scorcola“, well-known for its traditional blue cable car (Tram de Opcina) that will take you uphill to visit the Carso highland.

The flat if very well located: 10 minute walk to “Le Rive” and 15 to the city centre (Viale XX Settembre); 2 minute walk from Trieste railway station and long distance bus station. Very quiet and safe. Most places of interest are at a walking distance and the bus stops are very near.

Please, if you are interested, do contact us before making a reservation. We really much appreciate if you fully fulfil your profile, upload a photo and explain a bit about your travelling : )

Please, also know , that at your arrival you will be asked to supply your passport or ID as required by Italian low. Many thanks in advance for your help : )

Also notice that for a 30 days stay, it will be necessary to register a contract to the Agenzia delle Entrate. So we will need to sign a contract.

ABOUT THE FLAT
The flat was my nest-home, so it is decorated and furnished the way I like it: I hope you enjoy it as well. By the way, I now live very near to this apartment in Trieste : )

The 19th century building has been recently renewed. The flat itself is about 10 years old but it is in very good conditions. It is a a 70 sq meters flat, second floor with elevator and security door. There is no view over the city but we have a small terrace and the area is quiet.

In the flat you will have: entrance with a big corridor and a big shelf book on the left side; one open space with living room and kitchen. On the right side a small access room opens to double bedroom and the bathroom. The sofa bed, that ON REQUEST can become a second double-bed, is located in a room called "loggia", a sort of windowed veranda with NO door. Here can sleep two extra persons on previous agreement.

The living room is furnished with a table with four chairs and a cupboard. There is also a wall shelf book and a storage space where our private independent heating is located together with the stuff for the cleaning (vacuum cleaner, bucket and mop). The living room has an annexed small terrace with table and chairs for the summertime and also a windowed room called “loggia” with sofa, TV, ironing board and iron.

The kitchen has a table that we normally use for our meals, a sink, a gas stove, the oven and the fridge with freezer. There is no microwave and no dish washer. You will find glasses and cups, dishes, cutlery, cookware and the coffee pot.

The bedroom has a big double bed (180x200), two night tables, one escritoire, one wardrobe where you can store your clothes and personal belongings.

The bathroom has a tub, the WC, the sink, one bathroom cabinet, the wash machine and a bin.

The flat has independent heating for the wintertime but there is no air-conditioning for the hotter season.
It is not permitted to smoke inside the flat, but you can smoke in the terrace.

WE OFFER
The PRICE INCLUDES
- fresh bed linen and towels
- heating for the winter time and hot water
- use of the kitchen with its pottery and all the cooking and cleaning stuff (washing up liquid, dishcloth, dish sponges).
- for the bathroom: hygienic paper, shampoo, shower gel and hair-dryer
- free use of the wash machine (no dryer, there is a clothes horse), the iron
- free access to internet Wi-Fi: ADSL 10 Mega

Maps and leaflets about places of interest of Trieste and its surrounding are available too. Anyway, if you are pleased, at your arrival, we will explain you a bit about the city and what is worth-seeing!

The price does NOT include
- BREAKFAST
- CLEANING SERVICE during your stay

In order to know the total amount, you just need to press the button “book it”. Do not worry: you are not going to complete your reservation until you use your credit card!

PARKING: If you come by car, we do not have a private parking place and it is normally difficult to find a free parking in Trieste. So, we suggest you park your car indoor at the “Silos car park” in Piazza Libertà, next to Trieste’s railway station.
There are outdoor parkings available in Piazza Libertà (in front of Novo Hotel Impero) and in Piazza Oberdan. With a bit of luck you may also find a free parking space out street or in the streets nearby, but this may not happen every day!

AREA AND CONNECTIONS
The flat is located in the historical neighbourhood of „SCORCOLA" well known for the very traditional cable car called „Tram de Opcina“ that in 20/30 minutes will take you to enjoy the village of Opicina and its beautiful long walk into the Carso through the „STRADA NAPOLEONICA“.

The location is very centric: all the main places of interest are within a reasonable walking distance and the flat is very well connected by public transportation (buses) as well.

For example:
Piazza Unità d’Italia and Molo Audace: 20 minute walk
Viale XX Settembre: 15-20 minute walk
Piazza Sant’Antonio: 15 minutes walk

Bus lines 2 and 4 arrive close to SISSA.
Bus n.2 (Opicina's tram) and n. 4 leave both from the side opposite to Piazza Oberdan; you have to get off at Obelisco (ask the bus driver) and then walk down Via Bonomea for a pleasant 10 minutes' walk to reach SISSA.

The apartment is conveniently located and clean. However, we ended up having a dispute with the host after our departure, and this completely ruined our otherwise reasonably positive experience from this stay. We have stayed in Ana's place with children. On the last night one of the boys had wetted the bed. We were departing in the morning, and could not take care or this ourselves (i.e. wash the bedding). Ana's response was to demand that we pay for a new mattress. There were also some small marks left by children on the tablecloth by markers that Ana provided in the apartment. Ana has demanded that we pay for a new tablecloth. It also seems that there was one small dot-shaped mark on the chair cover. Ana has demanded that we pay for a new chair. All in all, this apartment is probably inappropriate for a stay with children. With children some things can't be avoided no matter how hard you try. Our experience proves that the host is not tolerant, and there is a risk of getting into a monetary dispute as the result of the stay.

Response from Anna:
Dear Kirill, I would like to reply to your review saying something on my defence. You omitted to say you booked for 4 (2 adults and 2 boys) avoiding telling me about your daughter. You had a 3 kid family. This is a detail that when a guest books has to be specified to the host and I specify this from the beginning. When, at your arrival, i saw you were 5 persons, i accepted you all and just mentioned the fact that I would have prefered to know it before, as my apartment has a licence for 4 persons. I have more than 200 reviews and hosted a lot of families with kids and small accidents always occured, but parents always warned me and at least said they were sorry about what happened. You said nothing. I had a reservation next day and was in trouble because of the wet bed. Kids play and are energetic and I perfectly know this but this does not allow guests not to leave a place they booked the way they found it or would like to find it. Chairs and tablecloth were clean before and afterwards I had to have them dry cleaned or archived. This is my opinion. With all respect for kids, a wet bed is not something you can offer to following guests because I myself would not like to sleep on such a kind of mattress. That is why i asked for a new mattress: the price for cleaning (cleaning a mattress it takes one week) is almost the same to the price of a new mattress for sofas in ikea. So, to sum it up, I think I am very tolerant but to a certain point, where I can not avoid to say things. I was partially refunded to the end, so Airbnb recognized there was something not correct in this reservation. Your review is the only negative one is 7 years and I had another refound in 2010 because a guest made a party at home, which is prohibited. That is all and it is proved by reviews. I am sorry we had to go through all this.

Anna is a very kind women. When I had a trouble regarding Italian post system, she helped us a lot. She is very easy to contact and kind. Thank you Anna. Her appartment is the BEST ONE during our long travel starting in April. Enough space, spotless clean, bathtub and plenty of hot water, near to train station, reasonable price. I definitely stay at Anna's place if we have a chance to come back to Trieste. Thank you! Tadahiro, Chieko and Akiko

Anna's apartment is great. Sunny, cheerful and filled with loving details it is a truly comfortable place from which to explore Trieste. Anna was very gracious and accommodating and she even looked for a charger I had misplaced after leaving; so she's a caring host and easy to coordinate with. We strongly recommend Anna's place to anybody visiting beautiful Trieste.

This was our best AirBnb experience so far! The apartment is gorgeous, spotlessly clean, three blocks from the train/bus station and right in downtown Trieste! Anna and her mom Renata are wonderful and are very attentive. There are many interesting things to do in the area. This apartment is a 10 out of 10 in our book.

From the start Anna communicated with us sending us information both about Trieste and details on how to find her apartment. The apartment is a very unique, eclectic, warm and friendly place! Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, lots of towels, computer desk, and nice little terrace for the hot evenings. Anna provided everything to make us feel at home: milk and juice, tea and coffee, cookies, even some spaghetti and sauce! The location is good, very close to major transportation, yet not too far to walk to the tourist sights. Thank you Anna! We enjoyed our stay.

We had a great stay at Anna's apartment. The apartment itself was very comfortable and had a well-equipped kitchen which allowed us to enjoy cooking all the delicious Italian ingredients we bought nearby. The location was really convenient for sightseeing in town and also for me to get to a conference at the ICTP. We didn't meet Anna, but her mother met us at the apartment, and Anna was easy to communicate through the airbnb site/app. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Hi I am Anna : )
I was born in Padova but grown up in Trieste, Italy. I lived many years abroad and, since 2014, I am back to stay in this lovely Mittel-European city but ... still love travelling from time to time! As I live in Trieste, I wont be able to welcome you in person at your arrival in the apartment of Barcelona, but I have a person in charge to check you in. I hope you feel at home away from home in my apartments! : )
Enjoy and Welcome!
