Roxanne's apartment was beautiful, and very conveniently placed a short distance from both bus and subway lines. Roxanne was also a great hostess and fun to talk to. The place was quiet, which was ideal both for resting and getting some work done. Finally, I needed some flexibility with check-in/check-out due to the timing of my interview, and Roxanne was very helpful and considerate regarding that! If I'm back in New York, I would definitely stay at Roxanne's!!
Roxanne was hospitable. I appreciated the offer of tea upon my arrival. She was a lovely host. It was like staying in an old friend's home.
The room was comfortable and clean. The building is in a relatively quiet neighborhood with grocery nearby and a few blocks from the subway.
When I travel, having acess to a fitness center is important to me. I was dissapointed in the building's fitness room. The treadmill and heat in the fitness room didn't seem to work for me and it was so cold that I could not stay and workout there.
Overall I think the room was a good value.
I am sorry that you were not able to get the heat to work in the gym. I have looked into the matter and it is working now. As mentioned, in the winter the heat is not central in the building's gym so each heater needs to be manually turned on about 20 minutes before just to warm up the room. The treadmill is being replaced after Christmas. Thank you very much for your feedback. Happy Holidays!
The room is very clean, just like the picture. Roxanne is a wonderful host. She was very kind and helpful. We visit the museum together and we shop together. It's really great to stay with her in New York. I hope I can see her again soon.
Roxanne used to be a concierge at several 5 star hotels and her enjoyment of the hospitality business shows as she was a great hostess, recommending restaurants and totally helpful in making my stay comfortable. Her apartment is very nice and immaculate. Highest recommendations.
Staying with Roxanne was a great experience. She is a cosmopolitan person so very easy to relate to, but she is also a native New Yorker and happy to share her extensive knowledge of the city. Roxanne is a hospitality professional so everything is quite businesslike, while at the same time she is always available for a chat over an espresso or fruit tea.
The apartment itself is very pleasant -- clean and tidy and with nice artistic flourishes. It is very light and generally has a good feel to it. I usually stay downtown in the Village or Chelsea so it was a new experience to stay uptown. The flat is only one block from Central Park and as I was blessed with cold bright weather I spent a lot of time there. If you like walking, Midtown is not far away and even downtown is accessible using the 6 train. All in all, I am very happy to recommend Roxanne and her charming apartment.
I really enjoyed staying at Roxanne's place. Roxanne was super friendly, and also super helpful with advice on what to do in New York. Also, the place was super tidy and very clean, and was very close to the subway and Central Park.
I felt very well with Roxanne and I found her an ideal host because she is very prompt and efficient in suggesting places and itinerary through the town and in helping you deal with anyn kind of problems, doubts, fear, but at the same time she is very warm and friendly. Moreover she has very good music and artistic "tastes" and stay at her home means also travel across the american music, american arts and new yorker...reastaurant and cookings. Thanks to her suggestions I tasted very nice food for istance at cuban restaurant. Last but not least Roxanne lives in Harlem and it is very interesting to know this meaningful place, with its huge cathedral that would like to symbolize the different people and religions in N.Y. and the challenge to live all together in peace. So, I vote for Roxanne! I wish every Airbnb friends to have a very
nice time as I have in N.Y. Emanuela
Staying with Roxanne in Central Park North was one of the highlights of my trip. She is a welcoming hostess and was quick to offer suggestions for entertainment, food and the easiest ways to get around. (Something I appreciated traveling alone) The apartment is very clean, comfortable and tasteful.
Roxanne, I'll think of you next time I hear "New York State of Mind" and sip my next espresso... which could be a year from now with you!
It was my first time using Airbnb. I've got a very positive experience while staying at Roxanne's apartment. She was a great host, easy-going and helpful. The room was nice, well-furnished, just as in the pictures. Location was very convenient, very close to the subway and the Central Park.
Roxanne was a wonderful host, always happy to chat and share her knowledge of the city and its sights. This was my first time using Airbnb as well as my first time in New York, and I couldn't have had a better time. She has a lovely home, comfy and warm, and it's great to be so close to the subway and Central Park. Couldn't suggest a better place to stay.
