  • Had a wonderful stay and had delightful conversations. I stayed just one night. Proximity to Museum Mile and Central Park is a big plus. The room was very clean and comfortable, exactly as pictured. Just right for one person. Roxanne is a great host. Would definitely stay again.

  • Roxanne is the best host! She will give you some good advises and make your stay confortable!
    Many thanks

  • Roxanne was a wonderful host and her apartment was ideally suited to me as I attended a conference in NYC. The bedroom was of a very high comfort standard and I would highly recommend it.

  • Roxanne is a person that makes you feel comfortable from the point you are entering the apartment although you are a stranger in a foreign country. She gave me a very warm welcome and it was obvious that she is a professional. Everything was very neat and clean. Roxanne is very helpful in regard to any problem and provides anything you need for a pleasant stay including great tips of what is 'hot' in NYC.
The apartment is beautifully located and close to several bus services and two Metro lines. Sadly enough that those these days unjustified prejudices still exist I never felt unsafe or intimidated in the area. Everybody who might be put off by the name 'East Harlem' misses a great place to be.
Over my 4 weeks lasting stay I found a dear new friend and a second home in New York. This place is more than highy recommended.

  • Roxanne's apartment was beautiful, and very conveniently placed a short distance from both bus and subway lines. Roxanne was also a great hostess and fun to talk to. The place was quiet, which was ideal both for resting and getting some work done. Finally, I needed some flexibility with check-in/check-out due to the timing of my interview, and Roxanne was very helpful and considerate regarding that! If I'm back in New York, I would definitely stay at Roxanne's!!

  • Roxanne was hospitable. I appreciated the offer of tea upon my arrival. She was a lovely host. It was like staying in an old friend's home.

The room was comfortable and clean. The building is in a relatively quiet neighborhood with grocery nearby and a few blocks from the subway.

When I travel, having acess to a fitness center is important to me. I was dissapointed in the building's fitness room. The treadmill and heat in the fitness room didn't seem to work for me and it was so cold that I could not stay and workout there.

Overall I think the room was a good value.

    Response from Roxanne:

I am sorry that you were not able to get the heat to work in the gym. I have looked into the matter and it is working now. As mentioned, in the winter the heat is not central in the building's gym so each heater needs to be manually turned on about 20 minutes before just to warm up the room. The treadmill is being replaced after Christmas. Thank you very much for your feedback. Happy Holidays!

  • The room is very clean, just like the picture. Roxanne is a wonderful host. She was very kind and helpful. We visit the museum together and we shop together. It's really great to stay with her in New York. I hope I can see her again soon.

  • Roxanne used to be a concierge at several 5 star hotels and her enjoyment of the hospitality business shows as she was a great hostess, recommending restaurants and totally helpful in making my stay comfortable. Her apartment is very nice and immaculate. Highest recommendations.

  • Staying with Roxanne was a great experience. She is a cosmopolitan person so very easy to relate to, but she is also a native New Yorker and happy to share her extensive knowledge of the city. Roxanne is a hospitality professional so everything is quite businesslike, while at the same time she is always available for a chat over an espresso or fruit tea.

The apartment itself is very pleasant -- clean and tidy and with nice artistic flourishes. It is very light and generally has a good feel to it. I usually stay downtown in the Village or Chelsea so it was a new experience to stay uptown. The flat is only one block from Central Park and as I was blessed with cold bright weather I spent a lot of time there. If you like walking, Midtown is not far away and even downtown is accessible using the 6 train. All in all, I am very happy to recommend Roxanne and her charming apartment.

  • I really enjoyed staying at Roxanne's place. Roxanne was super friendly, and also super helpful with advice on what to do in New York. Also, the place was super tidy and very clean, and was very close to the subway and Central Park.

About
I am a native New Yorker, former luxury hotel concierge, flaneuse and bonne vivante. I like foreign films, dark chocolate, fine tea, espresso, the theatre, live music and outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing and biking. From museums, restaurants, shopping to where to get a reflexology massage at midnight, I am happy to show you my city and to offer a comfortable and tranquil stay in my home. I have lived in Spain, France, Helsinki and Milan. I speak English, Italian and French with a knowledge of Spanish. Some of my favorite places in the world are the Seychelles, Sardinia, Italy and the countryside in the northeast of America. 5 things that I cannot live without are good books, music, my juicer, good quality tea and a feather down pillow. My style of travel is where authenticity meets luxury. My style of hosting is to meet and greet you warmly. Answering any questions you have about the apartment and the city; then advising you in the right direction, arming you with a map, IN Where NY magazines that are chock full of information and wishing you the best with your set of keys in hand and the freedom to choose your path in this great Big Apple! P.S. Pretty please do not request a booking more than two months ahead (as I may not be available and do not wish to cancel anyone's trip unexpectedly.) Also please reply with a profile photo, a bit about yourself and why you are visiting New York.
