Warm, Comfortable, Inviting Home

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Utica Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11234, United States

The Space

My husband and I love to travel with our two kids, so we know how great it feels to find a home away from home at a reasonable price. With that in mind, I’m delighted to share with you our warm, quiet, street-level apartment in residential Old Mill Basin in Brooklyn, New York, just 20 minutes from JFK International Airport and 35 minutes from LaGuardia Airport. It comfortably accommodates the single person, couple or family of up to four looking for a brief or extended stay.

The space is private, so you won't have to share anything; you will have the entire apartment to yourself. It consists of a living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. It is breezy in the summer and warm in the winter and is close (in many cases walking distance) to the best of shopping and entertainment for both kids and adults.

Amenities:
- Free air conditioning during summer months.
- Free basic cable TV.
- Free WiFi Internet access.
- Fully furnished living room – chair, futon sofa/bed, flat screen TV.
- Bedroom – chair, full size futon sofa/bed, night stand.
- Full kitchen – stove, cooking and eating utensils, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, toaster.
- Bathroom -- Shower, toilet, sink, and yes, there is a hair dryer. :-) (We get that question a lot!)

Shopping & Attractions:
Walking distance from kids playground, grocery stores, pharmacies, diners, restaurants, pet stores and the well known Kings Plaza mall. A short bus ride gets you to the Triangle mall, Atlantic mall, the affordable Flatbush shopping district, libraries, and museums. Fifteen minutes by car gets you to the Sheepshead Bay IMAX 3D movie theater complex, the world-famous Coney Island and New York Aquarium.

Adult entertainment includes easy access to Utica and Flatbush Avenue night clubs and the Resort World casino on Rockaway Blvd (just off the Belt Parkway).

Transportation:
Commuter vans and NYC busses with connections to trains to Manhattan are conveniently accessible just a few feet from the home’s driveway.

  • Great host and great place. A little farther from downtown Brooklyn than I wanted. All the essentials are right around the corner.

  • We had a great stay @ yolanda. We found everything we needed :-). It was just a bit outside. So we had 1, 5 hours to go to manhattan. But bus and train connections are very good.

  • My sister and I had a delightful stay at Yolanda's! The apartment is very cozy, spacious, incredibly clean, tidy, conveniently located and is equipped with everything one might need or require. Yolanda is very kind, warm, friendly, communicative and accommodating. Highly recommend this wonderful host and her apartment! Thank you Yolanda!

  • Very comfortable and clean place. For the price that Yolanda asks for, it doesn't get much better. I would def recommend this spot to anyone looking to visit New York. I had a car so I'm not sure how far the place is from the subway system but Yolanda offers a guide book with all relevant information.

  • Like many others before me, I had a great time at Yolanda's apartment! Being that I wanted to stay around Brooklyn, the apartment is at the perfect location. Had it all to myself, very clean and comfortable (I secretly didn't want to check out). A bus stop just outside the apartment, and it runs 24 hours. Put it this way, is like having a HOME in a different country. You will be surprised by what you find on the bed and as a guess you will definitely find it useful. Yolanda responded very swiftly to all my enquiries and checked up on me to make sure I'm doing fine- Thank you Yolanda.

  • We visited New York with our teens for eight nights and enjoyed our stay at Yolanda's house!
It had everything we needed. We slept comfortably, were able to cook our meals, have breakfast and dinner at home because the kitchen is well equipped and had enough space for everyone. In the evenings we enjoyed watching tv and recharging our batteries for the excursions on the next day.
The bus stop (46b) is exactly in front of the apartment and we always took that bus (we never waited longer than 5 minutes!) and stepped into the (email hidden)/ Utica Ave to get directly to Manhattan. (Easy as pie. We recommend the 7day Metro ticket if you stay for the week.
The folder with information, the sodas, the shampoo, the chocolate, the coffee, the spices, the fresh towels - all these things made us feel welcome.
Yolanda is attentive and only a phone call away. We always felt we could ask her for help or information.
We all want to recommend her comfortable home! Thanks, Yolanda!

  • Definite and insistent recommendation to all of the Airbnb community. This is a great deal if you do not mind travelling rather long by metro to Manhattan. We stayed at Yolanda's place during our four day visit to New York. We booked very last minute, but Yolanda was flexible and communication went smooth. The apartment is like on the photos: because it's in the basement, there is unfortunately no sunlight, but the design is very cosy and the apartment is very clean. Though the house is very far from Manhattan, the area around the closest metro station, Flatbush Avenue, has a lot to offer: international restaurants (We for example ate at Ashlee's Caribbean Cuisine, 2026 Nostrand Avenue, insistent recommendation) and small shops. We enjoyed our stay and are very grateful to Yolanda for hosting us so last minute!

  • My family of three stayed with Yolanda for 2 nights and we had a lovely stay. Yolanda left everything for us that we needed in the way of toiletries and kitchen items. The layout was perfect for up to 3 guests and we could not have picked a better location to travel within NYC or Long Island.
