The space
Stay in an off-grid cabin and retreat in Maine's Western mountains & lakes region at Nurture Through Nature Eco~Retreat Center and return to balance.

Retreat in Robin's Nest, tucked into the woods for your private nature getaway. Come to write, read, create, connect or find stillness and silence. Make this your base for outdoor recreation and adventure. Enjoy the woods surrounding you and nestle into Thoreau's cabin in the Maine woods.

IMPORTANT NOTES: You need to provide your own linens/towels and pillow and we recommend a 20 degree F. rated mummy sleeping bags in fall, winter and early spring.

Mosquito and black fly conditions vary. Peak exposure is between Mother's Day and Father's Day. Dress in light colored and loose clothing and bring your own favorite repellent.

We do not provide campfire wood. Please bring your own camp fire wood or gather it from the retreat land forest floor.

This cabin is family friendly, too. Kids thrive here! Kids 8 and under are free and please let us know how many are in your group so we can set up the space accordingly.

We have a "self-check in" system. We suggest if you have never been here before, please arrive before dark. If you cannot, have a flashlight/headlamp handy upon arrival. Outdoor lighting is minimal or nonexistent, depending on conditions. You will find a map board on a tree in the parking area.

The sleeping arrangement options are as follows:
1 full (double) real bed
1 set of hand crafted bunk beds (singles)

Robin's Nest is part of a green retreat center, Nurture Through Nature, which also offers group retreats on occasion. Based on availability and advanced booking, you may have the opportunity to add services to your getaway, such as a private wood-fired sauna session, a private customized yoga~meditation session, or a guided canoe trip from the resident Maine Guide and founder, Jen Deraspe. All services are based on availability and advanced bookings are encouraged. You may pay on site for any confirmed services you wish to add to enrich your stay.

About the land:
Our retreat sits on 33 wooded, hillside acres at the base of Pleasant Mt, offering private hiking trails, a crystal clear brook with dipping pools and granite sleuths and soaking pools right near by. We have a medicine wheel for a spectacular place to sit with long views of Mount Washington and the White Mountains National Forest. We border Nature Conservancy and Loon Echo Land Trust lands, forever protected from development.

Robin's Nest eco~cabin is part of Maine's first green certified retreat center.

There is a composting toilet nearby (about 50 yards up the access road from your cabin), an outdoor fire circle, picnic table, hammock and outdoor seating on small porch.

Please note there is no running water in the cabin. A seasonal outdoor shower is available at the Mt Pleasant Lodge. Also, we now have a warm shower for our guests, a hybrid system with solar, wood and propane on demand for limited, mindful usage, located a 3 minute hike up from your cabin at the Pioneer Shower Room where you can also refill your water jugs.

Amenities include:
private eco-cabin stay
locally roasted organic coffee beans and tea
french press, coffee bean grinder, tea pot
two burner propane stove for simple and basic cooking
solar powered electricity
(please do not bring a hair dryer, crock pot or any other appliances with heating elements~they too many kilowatts for our small, shared solar powered systems!!!)
kitchen amenities; dishes, pots and pans, utensils, pot holders
hand sanitizer, dish soap, sponges
ice chest for food storage (no ice on site)
wood stove for heating and cooking
fire wood (for indoor fires only), newspaper, kindling, matches

maps for private walking/hiking trails on 33 acres offering views of the nearby White Mountain National Forest and along our beautiful spring fed mountain brook
picnic table, camp chairs and camp fire ring

***Please note, you need to provide your own linens and pillow and we recommend 20 degree F. rated mummy sleeping bags in fall, winter and early spring.

Where you’ll be

Denmark, Maine, United States

Rural, countryside destination along a quiet, well~maintained, unpaved road. Forest, mountains, ponds, lakes, rivers, our own spring~fed mountain brook, wildlife, and clear skies.

We feel very remote and rural yet are accessible to nearby villages and towns for your sundries, ice, supplies, groceries, farmers markets, dining and the like.

What we love most about this part of the world is that the landscape, waterways, and mountains are so incredibly beautiful (stunning, really). And amidst the beauty, culture thrives, through art, music, dining and a warm, friendly, safe community of people surrounding this place, making it a getaway that feels like home.

We are grateful we get to share it and call it home, too.

I am from Maine and have created an earth~friendly retreat, Nurture Through Nature, Maine's first green-certified lodging facility (since (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) I thrive in the natural world and by learning what it has to teach. I also love sharing the land and our eco-cabins and yurts with people interested in simplifying through an off the grid lifestyle. I also appreciate the healing arts, such as yoga, meditation, and qi gong. Periodically, we have workshops and retreats led by me or other healing arts practitioners on site. You may want to schedule your stay during one of these events. Otherwise, our spaces are available to personal getaways and you can create your own eco-retreat. Things I love are really good coffee and conversation, dark chocolate, acoustic music, photography, red wine, exploring in nature, quiet places, canoeing, hiking, biking and my cool calico cat, Pearl. Follow us on (Hidden by Airbnb) @NTNretreats or on (Hidden by Airbnb) at Nurture Through Nature.
