Our home is a century old Portland foursquare in the Alameda residential neighborhood of NE Portland. The bedroom is on the second floor and has a queen-size bed, desk, dresser, closet, TV/DVD player, Wi-fi, and view of the back garden. The semi-private bath with a full sized bathtub and shower is right beside it. I am a licensed massage therapist with over 25 years of experience, and my office is across the hall from the guestroom, so you will be sharing the bathroom with the occasional client. I schedule between zero and three massages per day between 9:30am and 7pm. Guests are welcome to schedule a massage if they wish.
A Siamese cat named Leo lives with us. We are his faithful staff. His name is misleading. He is very shy and you may never see him during your stay with us.
Alameda is a wonderful walking neighborhood with beautiful tree-lined streets. It was developed back in the day when builders built one house at a time instead of whole subdivisions. Every house is unique and the gardens are lovely. Alberta Street, which is chock full of boutiques, excellent restaurants, coffeehouses and tearooms, is an easy six blocks away.
Our house is six blocks from the 9 bus line to downtown Portland and ten blocks from the 73 which goes near the MAX line. There are also other bus lines within easy walking distance. There is a small shopping center with a Whole Foods Market, library, and Starbucks eleven blocks away.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare quick, simple breakfasts and lunches. We provide a complimentary cup or two of coffee or tea in the morning, and you are welcome to use the stove, toaster, refrigerator, microwave, washer and dryer. We also supply towels and washcloths.
If you use it, clean it and put it back where you found it. If you break it, make it whole.
Because both my husband and I work out of our home we cannot accommodate children under the age of ten.
If you use it, clean it and put it back where you found it.
If you break it, make it whole.
Chrissy is a friendly and kind host! The house is in a nice neighborhood. Our room is sweet and the bed is really comfy. It looks even better in person than in the pictures.
Our plan changed and we arrived with short notice. She welcomed us in even though she's occupied at that time. My friend and I stayed up late the previous night, so we went to bed right after shower. It was a pity we didn't get to talk to Chrissy more. Yet we really enjoyed our stay!
Chrissy and her husband Craig are warm and gracious hosts. They are very personable and enjoyed many conversations with them. At the same time, they are very respectful of personal space and were not at all intrusive.
Like most of the Alameda area, their house is beautiful, and I found it very comfortable.
This was our second time staying here. It's a great place to stay! Very comfortable and homey. We enjoy Chrissy and Craig's company and they are super accommodating and helpful and also have a lot of knowledge about the area.
Chrissy and Craig were delightful hosts. They made us feel at home right away! Our bed was super comfortable and we had our own bathroom (which was awesome... LOVED the shower). Our schedule was really all-over the place which led to us leaving and returning at weird times which didn't seem to bother our friendly hosts! Next time we're in Portland, we plan on contacting these guys for a place to stay!
Chrissy and Craig have a beautiful house and the room was very nice. They are excellent hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks!
Chrissy was out of town, but Craig cared for us very well. The house felt homey, quiet and clean. Seemingly newly remodeled, so everything worked well. The bed was fresh and very comfortable. All our needs were readily met. We look forward to staying there again and meeting Chrissy!
Chrissy and Craig were excellent hosts. They made us feel most welcome and comfortable. The quiet guest room, spotless bathroom, their lovely home and neighborhood, their extensive knowledge of the city and region, interesting conversations and more added up to a trip we will remember fondly.
My husband, Craig, and I have lived in this house for over 20 years. We've raised our 2 boys and held many celebrations here.
I am a massage therapist and a writer and Craig is a geotechnical engineer.
We love to travel. So far we've been to England, Greece, Italy, and Egypt and all over the US. One of the wonderful things about AirBnB is that we get to hear about all the places our guests have been.
