My mom gets fresh fruits from the local market, and you can have them anytime you want. My dad makes at the living room, and you are welcome to join him drinking tea. Beers and bottled waters are not free to take they are at your own expense. A kitchen where my mom cooks for us, you can also use it. There's a rooftop I'm working on, the view is impeccable and it's going to be a nice common area in the near future.
Interaction with Guests
As much as I can as long as I'm home, I'd like to share stories and help our guests get what they want in Yangshuo. Most of the time, I'm home and can be reached I'm free but from time to time I travel to other places so I won't be able to be present while I'm travelling but my parents will be home if I'm not, that is to say, there's always people to help you out when you are here.
In between the noisy touristic town center and quiet countryside, a nice biking or jogging or hiking trail out front the house, and easy access both to beautiful country view and vibrant night life in the downtown. Also a basketball court 2 minutes away the house and tons of good local restaurants nearby. The house is surrounded by breath taking limestone peaks so you got views from every angle.
There's no public transit in Yangshuo because it's a small town and everywhere is within walking distance. A lot of travelers hire bike, moped and cab to visit around.
The most direct and best way to get from the airport to my place is take a private car pickup. Best way to get to the airport from my place is carpool, and they will come to my place to collect passengers if the reservation is made here. Time table for carpool to the airport is listed below: 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, 6 pm. Private airport dropoff recommended if carpool time is not right.
A new high speed train line and station is being built now in Xingping, a village 20km away from Yangshuo and this high speed line and station will be finished at the end of year 2014, until then most of train arrivals are still coming from the one in Guilin.

You will be given 2 keys once you check in, a key to your room and a key to the front door downstairs, please keep them well and remember to return them when checking out.
Please don't talk loud in the house because our other quests might be asleep in the room.
Sam was an excellent host. His house was nicely located on a quite street. He was very helpful with arranging transportation to and from the airport, suggesting places to go during our visit, and even coordinating a birthday cake. He and his family were very friendly and inviting.
Staying with Sam was heaps of fun! He is really friendly and we had a good chat over breakfast. His mum is an amazing cook and made us really delicious breakfasts :-) We only spent two nights at Sam's house and wish we could have stayed longer. Our flight was delayed so we didn't arrive till midnight but they were very accommodating and his dad came over on his scooter to let us in.
The room was very comfortable and the air conditioning kept the room a pleasant temperature in the hot humid weather.
While we were there we rented bikes from Sam and cycled along the river and through Yangshuo. The scenery along the river was breathtaking with the mountains rising up on both sides. We went for a swim when the weather got really hot. Bikes are a really convenient way to travel in Yangshuo and we also cycled to and from the Impressions Light Show in the evening. The show was beautiful and definitely worth seeing. We would definitely recommend staying with Sam if you are going to Yangshuo :-)
Sam and his family was everything you could ask for from a host. I was solo travelling and Sam took me out a couple of times to hang out with his friends. When it was raining and I can't really go out, we were chatting away and they even gave me lunch. They also invited me to join them when they had some relatives coming over for family dinner. Sam's mom is a great cook so don't bother eating outside, just get the optional dinner:) In this trip, I not only enjoy my stay but I have also gained a friend:) looking forward for my next stay here:)
Nice place with lovely family. Everything was clean and organized. He also helped us with tours and tips about the city.
We had a wonderful stay at Sam's place. It's in a nice and quiet spot but not far away from the city. The room is very clean and comfortable. Most importantly, Sam and his family were very helpful. Sam helped us organize a trip to go boating, and help us booked a bus when we need to go back to Guilin for the train. It saved us a lot of trouble. Sam's mum is a great cook. We enjoyed the food ! PS, the cat is very adorable:)
Super Sam was a super host. My stay at his family's guesthouse was one of my most fun and memorable airbnb experiences, hands down. He knows Yangshuo like a true local, and many of my trip highlights were spent with him and his wonderful family. His mum's noodle soup breakfasts were so tasty you may just have to resist going for a second bowl. His home is very warm, welcoming, clean, and serene. It's seriously a hidden gem in this backpacker town chock full of accommodations. With Sam you not only have a trusted host and tour guide, but also a new friend. He'll go out of his way to make sure you have nothing short of the most phenomenal time in Yangshuo. From organizing my airport pickup to dropping me off at the bus stop shuttle to everything else in between, I highly recommend Sam and his Fun Guesthouse!
Sam's B&B was the perfect place for us to stay in Yangshuo. This was our first trip to China, so we were not sure what to expect. Sam helped us plan our trip using a high-speed train from Hong Kong to Yangshuo, made sure we made the best of our short time in his hometown by bicycling to the nearby Dragon Bridge, and helped us on our way to our next destination, Jishou. Sam & his family and friends were amazing hosts. They prepared delicious breakfasts and offered us fresh local treats, such as kumquats and passion fruit. We should have stayed longer and would love to come back!
