The Space

Fully furnished studio apartment. Full bath and kitchen. Full size bed and possible additional foam bed if needed. Originally built as an in-law unit. No TV. Wi-fi and Wired internet. Private entrance. Near Stanford and the Silicon Valley. No smoking. No pets. Bus to Stanford one block away. Cafe and grocery about 0.4mi away, an easy walk through suburban streets.

Street parking. We need to guide you to the best parking ideas, depending on the day and time. No reserved parking spaces. This is an urban setting in our area, so parking can be competitive.

Very close to Hwy. 101 if your destination involves driving. About half way between the San Jose airport and San Francisco International Airport. Many restaurants and stores about one mile away, on the stretch of University Ave. that is the commercial district for Stanford University. Easy bicycle ride to Stanford. Very bicycle friendly area. It's flat, and there are bicycle lanes everywhere.

We live in the adjoining house and are more than happy to give you ideas for food, sights, entertainment. You can feel free to harvest and eat greens from the garden. Our chickens may have an egg or two to offer up, as well!

Guest Access

Guests have their own entrance (on the East side of the house). Studio has separate kitchen, bathroom, bed and sitting area! Some guests spend time on West side of house. We can sometimes accommodate laundry request. Let's discuss this!

Interaction with Guests

We live in the house, and would plan to be on site during Guest's stays. We are all under the same roof! Generally we like to meet guests, but sometimes due to schedules a guest will come and go before we interact.

The Neighborhood

We love our neighborhood. It is on the edge of 3 cities - Palo Alto, Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. It is also on the county line between San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Our neighbors range from immigrant kids and grandmas in the apartment buildings around the corner to high powered lawyers in the office building down the street. It is "mixed" insofar as houses, apartments and office buildings plus the Four Seasons Hotel! Close to 101 Freeway, downtown Palo Alto and an easy, walk to Cal Train. We are across the street from San Francisquito Creek, so there are lots of gorgeous trees and nature.

Getting Around

We are half a block to the bus stop. Easy ride (or walk) to the Cal Train station! Lots of Uber around, too. We have no reserved parking, so this can sometimes be a challenge. About 25 minute taxi ride from either San Jose or San Francisco Airports. It is possible from SFO to take BART to Cal Train south to Palo Alto, then hop in the bus to University and Woodland!

Other Things to Note

We are happy to share our ideas for shopping, eating, drinking. Please let us know if you have any particular needs. We would be happy to get things set up in advance of your arrival!

House Rules

We are very happy to be hosting your visit at the Creekside Oasis.

Check in after 3 pm. Check out before 11 am. (Note: It is sometimes possible to accommodate different times, please ask)

Our front door is to the left (west side) of the house. The studio door is to the right (east side) of the house.

We will send you info about the key in a separate communication. Please text your arrival and departure to Morganne (phone number hidden) so we know that you are here (or gone). We try to meet our guests, because that is a fun part of AirBNB hosting, but it is not a "requirement".

Our property is surrounded by a tall redwood fence. The address 1523 is located vertically on the gate post. When you arrive at the gate, it may look locked (there is an unused deadbolt). You simply push open the gate to enter our property. If the gate is latched, reach over on the right hand side to lift the string. (there are 2 blocks on the outside of the gate in the event you need a little boost) Follow the brick path to the right. You will find the studio door at the far corner of the house.

We hope you enjoy your stay with us. Some times of the year, we have fresh chicken eggs. Please feel free to ask. The kitchen is stocked with basic supplies and coffee, tea, honey (from our bees), oatmeal. Feel free to harvest from the garden (Morganne can show you what is edible.)

We are all under the same roof and share 2 walls with the Studio. Let's be mutually respectful of noise and late night activity!

You will find the wi fi log in info on the desk when you come in.

Please leave the key on the kitchen table when you leave.

We are always so grateful for tidy departures! If you have time, please wash your dishes, strip the bed and put with sheets and towels in the white laundry basket. If you want to “take out the trash”, garbage goes into the black bin, recycles go in blue and any food waste can go in the green bin. This is not required, but is greatly appreciated!

Smoking only outside.

Sorry no pets.

It is easiest to park in front of the house during the day (abundant options). Also parking is usually easy in front of our neighbor's house (with the white picket fence). Best to park diagonally. As the day gets later and folks are returning from work, it gets harder to park. There are no reserved parking spaces. This is an urban setting, so parking can be competitive. We provide a map in the studio with highlighted areas where we park if we can't find a place in front. One night of your visit, you can park on Euclid (west side -- car facing Woodland Ave) or Oak Court. This is in the city of Menlo Park and generally they allow one night of parking before requiring you to have a permit.
