About This Listing
Our studio apartment is a short walk to University Circle (Four Seasons and office buildings). Across from creek, close to buses, walk to Cal Train! Quiet, peaceful, "in-law" studio apartment. Nibble in garden! Let us know what extras you may need!
Fully furnished studio apartment. Full bath and kitchen. Full size bed and possible additional foam bed if needed. Originally built as an in-law unit. No TV. Wi-fi and Wired internet. Private entrance. Near Stanford and the Silicon Valley. No smoking. No pets. Bus to Stanford one block away. Cafe and grocery about 0.4mi away, an easy walk through suburban streets.
Street parking. We need to guide you to the best parking ideas, depending on the day and time. No reserved parking spaces. This is an urban setting in our area, so parking can be competitive.
Very close to Hwy. 101 if your destination involves driving. About half way between the San Jose airport and San Francisco International Airport. Many restaurants and stores about one mile away, on the stretch of University Ave. that is the commercial district for Stanford University. Easy bicycle ride to Stanford. Very bicycle friendly area. It's flat, and there are bicycle lanes everywhere.
We live in the adjoining house and are more than happy to give you ideas for food, sights, entertainment. You can feel free to harvest and eat greens from the garden. Our chickens may have an egg or two to offer up, as well!
Guests have their own entrance (on the East side of the house). Studio has separate kitchen, bathroom, bed and sitting area! Some guests spend time on West side of house. We can sometimes accommodate laundry request. Let's discuss this!
Interaction with Guests
We live in the house, and would plan to be on site during Guest's stays. We are all under the same roof! Generally we like to meet guests, but sometimes due to schedules a guest will come and go before we interact.
This is a great neighborhood. It is "mixed" insofar as houses, apartments and office buildings and the Four Seasons Hotel! Close to 101 Freeway, downtown Palo Alto and an easy, walk to Cal Train. We are across the street from San Francisquito Creek, so there are lots of gorgeous trees and nature.
We are half a block to the bus stop. Easy ride (or walk) to the Cal Train station! We have no reserved parking, so this can sometimes be a challenge. About 25 minute taxi ride from either San Jose or San Francisco Airports. It is possible from SFO to take BART to Cal Train south to Palo Alto, then hop in the bus to University and Woodland!
Other Things to Note
We are happy to share our ideas for shopping, eating, drinking. Please let us know if you have any particular needs. We would be happy to get things set up in advance of your arrival!
We hope you enjoy your stay with us. Feel free to harvest from the garden (Morganne will show you what is edible.) We are all under the same roof and share 2 walls with the Studio. Let's be mutually respectful of noise and late night activity! We are always so grateful for tidy departures! Smoking only outside. Sorry no pets.
Or looking to the right after stepping in through the door, you view the eating area and part of the kitchen.
Everything was perfect at the creekside oasis. Morganne was an incredible host and was very generous. Great space, great location. 10/10 would stay again
Accommodation as stated: clean and cozy. Lots of amenities provided and the fridge was nice for some leftover food we had. Pleasant and quiet stay but the only nuisance was the parking. If you arrive back after 6, there won't be any available spots. Morganne provided some other parking streets, but a lot of them have signs up that don't allow street residential parking between 2-5 am, which appears to be a relatively new Menlo Park city ordinance. For some of the days, we ended up parking at my office and taking an Uber back since we knew parking was going to be a struggle to find. Otherwise, it's a good location.
Morganne was an excellent host. She was always a phone call or text message away, but also gave us our space to enjoy what is truly a "creekside oasis." The apartment was adorned with interesting decorations that created a very tranquil atmosphere. I am very satisfied with my stay and am grateful for Morganne's hospitality. I would definitely stay here again.
Morganne was amazing, friendly. Left us fresh eggs for the morning. The studio is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Safe, cozy garden. Lovely dogs, Max and Louie! Easy instructions and parking wasn't bad. Will definitely stay again!
What a wonderful place! Has everything I needed. Morganne was a wonderful host! Would definitely stay again
My stay at Creekside Oasis was very nice. Morganne provided the transportation to and from the airport at a reasonable rate. A peaceful quiet neighborhood, close to Stanford University which was the purpose of my visit. Provided plenty of helpful advice about the Palo Alto area. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stay with friendly hosts.
About the Host, Morganne
I am a native Californian. (I was given the name Robin at birth, and some of my reviews reflect that name!) I lived the first half of my life in Los Angeles and gratefully moved to San Francisco in 1990. It's awesome. I love theatre, storytelling, dancing, juggling, fresh, home cooked food. I am an enthusiastic entrepreneur and currently have 2 businesses, one high tech and one low tech. We have 3 amazing Farmer's Markets every Sunday morning a short drive away. A foodies heaven (esp. in the summer and fall!) My husband, Damon, is an alternative physician - a very creative and inspired healer. We enjoy travelling and meeting new people and are always excited to have folks enjoy our awesome studio and garden-- our Creekside Oasis.
