Had a great time staying in the Mission area thanks to Ken and Richard's help.
They provided a printed sheet of interesting places to check out. Sushi, burritos and an authentic jewish deli just a stones throw away (Wise sons Deli) were some of the highlights!
Friendly hosts. Great accommodation. Highly recommended!
My husband and I had a lovely time staying at garden cottage. Ken met us, when we checked in, with a warm welcome and took the time to recommend some local attractions and restaurants! He made us feel very much at home. The cottage provided a great home base for us to explore the city. We were able to get around fairly easily using BART and Uber. We had a great time at the garden cottage!
Ken and Richard's cottage is a perfect place to stay while exploring San Francisco. When we arrived, Ken showed us around the cottage and offered recommendations of local restaurants and sights to visit. The cottage is in a great location -- it's in the hip Mission area and very close to Bart and Muni stations for getting around SF. Having a parking space was great, especially given the difficulty and cost of parking in SF, and we found the cottage to be a very comfortable place to stay for a few days. Perhaps the best thing about our stay, though, was the tour of the city in Ken and Richard's '79 VW convertible. Much more personal and enjoyable than one of the large bus tours and it really provides a great introduction to the city.
Highly recommended! Cottage was terrific, in a fun and convenient neighborhood, Ken is so welcoming and hospitable.
our hosts were very warm and welcoming and we enjoyed meeting them both. the cottage was lovely...nicely decorated and bright and cheery. the location is the best--right in the heart of the mission, with philz coffee around the corner, a great jewish deli across the street, and all of the wonderful restaurants offered on valencia. the off-street parking was a special bonus. it's a great place to stay when in san francisco with the BART up the street, and noe valley and the castro close by. would definitely do it again. thanks ken and richard.
Ken and Richard's Cozy Mission Cottage was the perfect place to stay for a couple of days during our time in the City. When we first arrived, they were so kind to allow us to hold our suitcase there before check-in, so we could go explore the Mission. Ken gave us a tour of the cottage and some fabulous recommendations for local eateries and should-see things in SF (check out Gracias Madre on Mission St!). The photos in the listing were dead on - the cottage was perfect for two people; very well kept, spacious and so charming! The shared garden in the back was amazing; it was a great place to relax and enjoy a dinner. Also in a great location, the Cottage is close to the BART and Muni, which made it easy to get around.
Ken and Richard were fantastic hosts! Everything was exactly as pictured, and they went above and beyond to explain everything in the cottage as well as recommendations around the city. They were so pleasant and hospitable, I would love to stay at the cottage again!
About the Host, Ken
My partner (Richard Leger) and I have occupied and owned this Victorian for 31 years. We were married in July, 2013. We love San Francisco and take pride in our home. We enjoy classical music, eating out, reading and visiting museums. I sing in a large community chorus (San Francisco Choral Society - Tenor) and my church choir (First Congregational). We are members of the San Francisco Historical & Museum Society and the Fine Arts Museums of SF. We are looking for guests who are seeking a lovely home base for their visit to our world-class city. We hope to provide ideas and directions to make your stay as rich an experience as possible. We can possibly provide a city tour in our '79 VW convertible if desired.
