The space

Large charming private corner bedroom with high ceiling and hardwood floor in a lovely renovated 6th floor 2-bedroom apartment which is brimming with old world details! Queen-size bed with butter-soft cotton sheets (high thread count!), puffy king-size feather pillows, and charming handmade country quilt. Air conditioner / heater to keep you cool during hot summer months and toasty warm in the winter. A large empty closet awaits, so you can hang up all your clothes and feel at home.

Art Deco Elevator Building is beautifully maintained, and stands on a tree-lined block. As there are no tall buildings nearby, there is an abundance of light streaming in, and the view from the bedroom is amazing...From one window you can see the Verrazano Bridge...And from the others you can see rooftops and tree tops and the new World Trade Center being built. (Please note that along with the great sunlight and views that come with facing the street, there can be some traffic noise at times. So if you are a light sleeper, perhaps you are better off finding a dark quiet apartment in the back of a building. It's a tradeoff here in NYC!).

There is a table right in the room for private dining while gazing out upon the gorgeous view from the windows on both sides. There's also a cherry wood coffee table for your snacks and couch with plump embroidered pillows for comfy lounging while watching TV. As I said, the room is huge!

Breakfast of coffee/tea/cocoa with your choice of bakery muffins, our famous NYC bagels, yogurt & fruit, or oatmeal, plus milk & juice included each morning. Programmable Cuisinart coffee maker - awaken to the smell of fresh brewed coffee. I would be pleased to accommodate any special requests.

Eat-in kitchen has new dishwasher, gas stove/oven and microwave. Fully stocked with cookware, appliances (juicer, blender, etc.) and tableware that you are welcome to use. I will wash all dishes for you during your visit!

Luxury designer bathroom has oversized glass steam shower with jacuzzi tub, deep sea blue glass "waterfall" sink, blue glass tiled walls and heated floor (during colder months)! Plush cotton bath sheets (oversize towels) and fluffy bath rug to pamper you from head to toe!

24-hour windowed laundry room in basement has new washers and dryers.

This is the Kensington neighborhood, just below Park Slope, so it is hip and very convenient. Just 2 blocks away, there is a great new cafe/wine bar, and a delicious inexpensive diner. There is also an International grocery store with fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as delicacies from around the world. Down on Cortelyou Road you will find a sweet collection of shops and restaurants like those in Park Slope.

It's just a 5 minute walk to the subway if you exit through the back door, and then only a 20 minute ride on the F train to Manhattan's Lower East Side (with many more hip restaurants and music clubs). 30 minutes to Midtown Manhattan. You can also take the G train directly up to Williamsburg (20 minutes), Greenpoint, and Long Island City (30 minutes) to experience the "Hipster" scenes there as well.

The subway is full of young people traveling at all hours. The walk here from the Church Avenue F/G train stop along Beverley Rd is lovely – with its quaint large old houses and front yard gardens – and it is safe even late at night.

In fact, the whole neighborhood is very safe. One of my guests was only 19 years old, from a far away country, and she seemed to be quite happy and comfortable here.

In addition to young professionals in their 20s and 30s, there are many families with young children and elderly parents living (URL HIDDEN) is such a great little community! Quite an interesting mix of cultures, as Old World meets New. In addition to the afore-mentioned hip restaurants, there is also cuisine from around the world. I really love it here.

Come enjoy all NYC has to offer, including live performances at BAM, Museum, Aquarium and Botanical Gardens right here in Brooklyn.

Please note that I have 3 cats, so if you don't like cats or you're allergic to them, this is not the place for you!

I moved in not too long ago, so the place isn't perfect yet - some of the trim is primed but not painted, etc.
