***Now with a new Master Bed ****
This has been our family home for years and we expect that guests will treat it as their own home. We live nearby and are happy to help to make anyone's stay more comfortable. If you smoke, please go out on to the street and across to the park.
Many thanks Robert (and Katie) for your hospitality in making our stay in Bayswater so welcoming and valued.
The welcome snacks and breakfast goodies as well as fresh fruit were certainly appreciated upon arrival.
The cleanliness of your flat as well as general location, access to the Tube stations and other amenities along Queensway were valued and cherished by myself and my family during our stay
We would certainly consider your flat upon our return to London soon.
Kind regards from the Stephen family (Melbourne Australia)
The host canceled this reservation 72 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Our week long London family experience (2 grandparents, 2 adult children, and 5 year old granddaughter) was excellent in no small part due to Robert's flat. His quick response to email inquiries from initial booking to actual arrival 5 months later was consistent and appreciated. The verbal and pictorial descriptions of the flat are very accurate. The setup is great for a multi-generational family with two bedrooms and bath at the back of the flat, another bedroom with its own bath in another section, and then the generous sized living area and kitchen connected at the front of the flat. This works especially well when individuals go to bed or get up at different times.
The location is ideal for proximity to historical areas (10 minute walk to Kensington Palace and a fabulous playground for kids), restaurants of all variety, shops, and bus/tube service. The benefit of being so close to two tube stops is that each serves a different underground line, so if one is closed for service the other is available (which happened to us but did not disrupt our travel needs). The private park across the street is beautiful and tranquil, and a great outlet for youngsters to let off steam.
This was our first experience with Airbnb and it was terrific. We will definitely use the service in our future travels. And if we return to London, we would enthusiastically seek to again enjoy Robert's hospitality.
Robert was a great host - arrangements were easy to make and he responded quickly to enquiries. Check-in and out was smooth and uncomplicated despite the quick turn-around between bookings. His apartment matched the description accurately. The best aspects for us were the excellent location with easy walk to shopping (regular supermarkets and clothes (right next to Whiteleys), food in Westbourne Grove and Notting Hill and the tube, child-friendly set up including high-chair (we have an 18m boy) and access to the private square garden across the road. We ate out most nights but if you plan to cook at home much the kitchen is pretty basic and you may want to ask for a few extra things from Robert if that is the case. One other word of caution - the garden square is lined with London plane trees and if you are sensitive to them you may want to consider that. I spent a lot of time sneezing and rubbing my irritated eyes. However they are everywhere in London and may be unavoidable (note that my wife, son, mother-in-law and sister-in-law were unaffected).
Our stay was wonderful. Robert is an excellent host who described the apartment perfectly and timely met us upon our arrival and departure. From the basket of food he provided to the clean and updated apartment, everything was great we loved the location too - close to the tube, restaurants and a playground for our kids. Couldn't have been any better.
This is a basement apartment in a beautiful location near Kensington gardens. We loved our stay here and our family of 6 adults stayed comfortably in this home. There are lots of guide books to make your stay in London more enjoyable. The wifi connection was strong in the living room but had trouble connecting sometimes in the inside bedroom. Having a 3rd toilet in the laundry room was very helpful. The kitchen was also fully equipped with lots of pots, pans and plates. We were also provided with bread, cereal and milk which was a nice touch. The beds were comfortable and the heater worked well although we used it only to a few hours at night as it wasn't very cold in May. The force in the shower was a bit less when both bathrooms were in use together but I think that is not something that the host can control and maybe something that is common in London. We loved out stay here! Rent some bicycles and spend time in Hyde park.. It is a beautiful park and has a nice bicycle path. We will definitely recommend staying here.
It was a Great Place to Stay. Everything was Fine , the near to the Underground was top , we Would definitly come back .
About the Host, Robert
I am an Australian living in London. I've been here for 15 years now so I know what it's like to come and visit and want to make sure that everything goes just right. I've travelled extensively worldwide and we enjoy meeting people from all over - which is the attraction on London.
My wife and I will do our best to host you during your stay and feel free to contact us. We've tried to equip the apartment with the things you might need when abroad.
