The Space

Hello traveler! Looking for a cosy and elegant base to relax and explore the beautiful landscapes, tastes and cultural heritage of Umbria - the region nicknamed "The Green Heart of Italy"? We're glad you found this page, and ready to welcome you!

/// Please note: if you don't find availability for the dates you need, please consider our other wonderful apartment in the same building... just click on our profile picture on the right and scroll down to find it under "listings". Thank you! ///

Guest Access

"Little Casa Foresti" is a 2-rooms, 50sq/m apartment with large garden inside a 14th century building (renovated in 2009); it's located in the historic centre of Bettona, a lovely medieval village resting on top of a green hill coated in olive groves. Finely furnished and decorated, equipped with Wi-Fi, washing machine and (we hope!) everything you might find in your house, it's just the perfect place for your stay.

Our comfortable holiday house, with room for up to 3 people, is the ideal option for a pleasant stay in Umbria, ensuring you moments of rest and relax between visits to the precious historic and cultural jewels of which Umbria is rich, either in the well-known cities like Assisi and Perugia and the “minor” centres to discover.

Interaction with Guests

On top of this, we - the Foresti family - really enjoy to get to know a little our guests by offering something to make their stay unique.
If we have time and if you wish to, we'll be glad to show you around some hidden spots in the local area, have you over for dinner or take you to a local winery, cheesemaker, restaurant or cultural event - obviously free of charge! My son Francesco speaks very good English and my wife Anna is available if you'd like to get some Italian cooking lessons. We'll do our best to make you feel really at home - of course without being invasive - so feel free to ask us about interesting destinations nearby, as well as restaurants or other local attractions! We live just upstairs of the apartment...

We'll be glad to help you get the best this region has to offer. Giorgio, Anna, Francesco and Lucilla Foresti are pleased to welcome you in their home for a pleasant stay in Bettona!

The Neighborhood

Bettona, is a beautiful small village of 300 people of Etruscan (4th century BC) and medieval origin, set on a hill overlooking Perugia and Assisi. Although tiny, in town you will find three restaurants, two bars, a small grocery shop with homemade food, a deli shop, a city museum, an international library, a multi-sport complex and, quite often, some social events where people gather to eat all together.

Bettona is quite close to every interesting destination in Umbria:
it is just 16 km far from Assisi, home of St. Francis and UNESCO Heritage Site;
5 km from Torgiano, renown worldwide for its precious wines;
10 km from Deruta, famous for its ceramics;
17 km from Bevagna, the town that turns medieval for the whole month of June;
20 km from Perugia, largest city in the region, seat (email hidden) for foreigners and with a young nightlife in its historic center;
22 km from Spello, 24 km from Montefalco, 26 km from Foligno, 33 km from Todi, 55 from Spoleto, each one a different medieval pearl to explore;
and 45 km from the shores of Trasimeno Lake and its wonderful tiny islands.

In one hour of travel by car it’s possible to reach every destination in Umbria. If you're up for longer travels, Siena, Firenze and Roma are all within two hours.

Getting around

Public transportation isn't that great in Umbria, we recommend renting a car (either in Perugia airport, 15km away, or Perugia train station) to experience (email hidden)rking spots are always available not more than a minute away from the house. At the moment of booking we provide a map of Bettona with everything the village has to offer and a map of Umbria with our favourite landmarks.

  • The apartment is wonderful, it's has everything you need, (soap, coffee, olive oil, ...) and if you're missing stuff, there is a supermarket very close by.
    We loved the terrace, had breakfast and dinner there every day...the view is amazing.
    Bettona, is a wonderful little town. Parking is easy and you can reach Assisi, Spello...and other towns in 30 minutes drive.
    Anna and Giorgio are amazing host, they are just genuinely nice people. I took a cooking class with Anna, and had the best time. I would recommend this place to friends and family without any hesitation.

  • I had a very nice time at Casa Foresti. Giorgio and Anna were pleasant, friendly and helpful and I enjoyed spending time with them. The apartment is cozy and comfortable and is situated in the heart of Bettona. The balcony features beautiful views of the surrounding Umbrian hills.

    Bettona (email hidden) to relax and is a great central location from which to explore nearby Umbrian towns such as Assisi, Perugia, Spoleto, Spello and many others. I hope I get a chance to return to Bettona and spend more time with Giorgio and Anna.

  • Staying here was a dream! Don't bother with hotels, you won't get nearly as great of an experience. Everything was perfect and Francesco is unbelievably nice, funny and helpful. Would love to visit Bettona again, Italy's gorgeous secret!

  • This is the most beautiful spot in the Umbria ! :) We passed 3 nights in this very convenient apartment and we felt like home ! As soon as we arrive Giorgio and Anna received us and explain us everything that was useful and they offer us to take a tour in the morning. Which we accept, Giorgio take us at local artisans, it was very interesting !
    The area is just so beautiful, we felt so good in that apartment and village that we didn't want to go visit around ! :)
    Seriously, thanks again ! If I'm returning in Umbria, I will definitively return there !
    Thanks Giorgio & Anna !

  • Our experience surpassed all our expectations!
    The flat is beautiful and super clean, fantastic view from the terrace. Giorgio, Anna and Francesco the best hosts ever!
    Ask Anna to do a cooking course. It is a lot of fun and the results are delicious!
    All this in combination with a magic Bettona and a lovely sunny weather end of October made a fantastic unforgettable week of vacation.

  • We stayed five nights in this lovely apartment and had a great time. The apartment is clean, spacious and very well appointed. Even though we didn't get to use the outdoor patio/balcony area much due to rainy and overcast weather, it (email hidden) with really nice views over the garden and the surrounding countryside.
    Bettona is a very picturesque little town with lots of history and tradition- easy to explore on foot (once you get here!). The apartment made for a perfect home base for us to explore so much of wonderful Umbria- short drives to Assisi, Trevi, Montefalco, Spoleto...and so many other great little towns.
    The hosts could not have been nicer, more gracious or easier to deal with. Francesco walked down to meet us at our car when we first arrived and guided us to a perfect parking spot, and Giorgio went with us the next day to a local cheesemaking place, a wine cooperative, and gave us a bit of a tour of the local area. They were available for anything we needed but never intrusive on our privacy- perfect hosts! Even Guido the cat made sure we had friendly company when we wanted it! We would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment to anyone looking to explore beautiful and friendly Umbria.

  • We very much enjoyed the week we stayed in Georgio and Anna's apartment in the medieval hill town of Bettona. The apartment was spacious and well equipped for the two of us. The setting was beautiful, with lovely patio views of the surrounding valley and hills. Bettona, itself, was a walled gem to be explored and savored. The
    location in Umbria was ideal for day trips to beautiful and historic sites. Our hosts were more than generous with their time, showing us places they loved in Umbria. We will treasure our memories and new friendships.

Hello, i'm Giorgio! After 33 years spent in Rome, where I studied and practiced law, I moved to Umbria to live in the countryside in a farming cooperative. After that, i managed a publishing house, a software house and a communication agency, while putting my heart and work in renewing the house in Bettona listed here on Airbnb. But I won't keep it all for me - I hope you'll come live it a little yourself! Hey, I'm Francesco, 27, love good music and I'm quite interested in everything. My dad has this flat for rent and I am managing it while working at a local hotel, and so far it's been great. I do speak good English and would love to have an aperitivo with you or show you around. I've been living in northern Italy for a while, then Berlin, and who knows where I'll be next... /// I am a lover of traveling as well, either in Italy, Europe or Asia; I enjoy human contact and me and my family (my wife Anna, my daughter Lucilla and my son Francesco) will be happy to guide our guests, if they wish, to discover the nature, history, art and enogastronomy of this beautiful region. Hope to see you here soon! A presto!
