No smoking or pets. We are an easy going household, but would like our home to be treated with respect and left as it is found.
My husband and I retired to France. We bought a barn to convert into a home, which we have nearly finished, hopefully finished this autumn. Robert was previously involved with engineering and I was a Senior Lecturer in Special Education. Lescou is idyllic, we love the charm of the French countryside, its quiet gentleness and wonderful wildlife. We love to visit Bordeaux with its beautiful buldings and cosmopolitan lifestyle. - a chance to do some serious shopping. We spend most of the summer outdoors on the terrace where we take all our meals - when we are not doing renovation work!! I like to cook and entertain, and Robert is an excellent host keeping up with the best of the french wines. We fund raise for SSAA - the forces charity which supports any service man/woman who have been in the forces even just for a very short time. I am the Events Co-ordinator and organise the fund raising events. We love having people to stay with us.
Our family is spread all over the world, so holidays are normally visiting family. Most of the travelling is done by air. although we did try the TGV and Eurostar to the Uk, this year, and it was great. No hassle and very straightforward. The taxi driver, when we had to change stations in Paris, was delightful.
Life motto - New day, new leaf.
