Trieste is a wonderful vibrant city & this apartment is in a perfect location. Despite this & also despite the very responsive communication before & during our week here with both Cesare & Stefano, our stay was unfortunately disappointing. The primary causes of this were the lack of reliable internet for the majority of our stay, & the lack of a clothes dryer. The apartment is advertised as having a dryer: there was no dryer. Stefano said it was being repaired but we had not been informed & didn't see it during our 7 days there. We had to request an airer so we could dry the copious amount of washing we had accumulated after two weeks in Italy! The internet also is advertised as being there -it was apparently 'broken' & needed repair so a mobile wi fi device was supplied. This worked for the first day & a very short time on the second morning. Cesare & Stefano were immediately responsive when we let them know it was no longer operating, but unfortunately after working briefly it still didn't work. In all it probably worked for about 2 1/2 days of the 7 despite Stefano trying very hard to fix it for us. We just gave up asking in the end & I think he gave up too. We ended up using our own Mobile device (at additional expense) that we had brought for emergencies. The apartment could be good if these things were fixed up but there are also some inaccuracies in the description. Don't expect views of the sea - it is behind the building on the seafront. The kitchen needed additional items to be classed as well equipped - despite our request on the first day we did not have a kettle or jug to boil water - this had to be done in a saucepan. There were no tea towels. There are not two bathrooms: there is one bathroom & a second separate toilet. This apartment has had some recent work done on it so possibly items were removed & failed to make it back ( although a bathroom can't be included in that!) This apartment should be good: it is in a wonderful location close to everything you would want. It is spacious & has much charm. It was unfortunate for us that such missing key elements provided so much stress, time wasting & additional expense. Cesare was alway very obliging in his communication & Stefano was there to meet us promptly when we arrived earlier than initially planned. He was also there quickly to try & resolve issues, however he was unable to do so in the end. I hope they are able to sort the apartment out so it reflects accurately the description given. If they do it would provide a wonderful stay in Trieste. Unfortunately this was not the case for us: it was a very frustrating experience.
We stayed in this apartment for a week and found that this is a wonderful apartment located in the center of Trieste near the Città Vecchia and the Piazza Unità d'Italia . It is in a turn-of-the-century building and has high ceilings with period molding. in addition to being close to the touristic sites, the apartment is close to pharmacies, banks, markets, cafes, gelato, restaurants, chocolate , butchers and fishmongers, electrical supplies (for converters and adaptors), antiques, book stores and is only a 15 minute walk from the train and bus stations. The hosts have their office close by and they are available by email, phone, and texts. They are very gracious and have a professional team supporting them.
The neighborhood is urban and you will hear the pulse of the city with the windows open. The apartment is very spacious and accommodated the 4 adults in our group easily. The kitchen is well equipped and we had some nice meals in the dinning room.
My family and I highly recommend this apartment and we would stay their again next time we are in Trieste.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Unfortunately the apartment we had booked was unavailable due to a plumbing leak found the day before our rental. Cesarean quickly offered another in a good location at a discount. This was essentially fine, clean and with good linen but a few minor problems: the washing machine was broken, some light bulbs needed replacing, the wifi did not work and the shower was barely adequate with erratic temperature control. The apartment and its organisation were comfortable
The appartment was perfect. Lots of space, very clean and well equipped. The only problem was that the internet didn¨t work and we was promised to get some help to fix it, but it didn't happen.
