Charming B&B in old dutch Farmhouse

Bed & Breakfast - Private room · Plakkenweg, Heerde, Gelderland 8181 SN, Netherlands

The Space

Our Bed & Breakfast ‘Slapen op nr 1’ is located just outside of the rural village Heerde in the north-eastern part of the Veluwe. An oasis of space, nature and tranquility………..
It is in the country, yet close to some great places to visit like: Deventer, Zwolle and Apeldoorn, and the ancient little town of Hattem!

Amidst pastures, with on the one hand the outstretched forests (Zwolsche Bossen) and on the other hand the IJssel river valley and close to the artists village of Veessen, it’s an ideal place to discover the green parts of Holland. You could take a bike and pedal endlessly, or walk for hours in the forests.

For Spa-lovers there is the most beautifull wellness-resort of the Netherlands close by, about 13 km’s (De Veluwse Bron near Emst).

We invite you to come and enjoy country life to the fullest in our garden with natural pond and roofed terrace.
During summer our renovated old farmhouse will be surrounded by the local farmers gathering their hay and the typical Dutch black-and-white cows will be grazing in the fields. It’s THE place to experience Dutch country life ………

You will stay in a beautifully furnished room (own entrance) in the old farmhouse, with two comfortable beds and a private bathroom.

Coffee and tea are available in the room. WIFI!

In the morning we will serve a lovely breakfast with freshly backed rolls and pure, fresh orange juice, fruit, eggs from our own chickens and dutch cheese.
In summertime, breakfast will be served in our garden! And if you feel like being lazy, just stay in bed, i will bring your breakfast on a beautiful tray.

  • We spent 3 days in this really charming farmhouse. Christine and Rene were perfect hosts. Very careful and sympatic. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the wonderful blooming garden and had very inspiring conversations. The bedroom is furnished with love and the bathroom has a huge bathtube and everything you need.
You can relax perfectly in the beautiful surrounding with sheeps and cows and hens and goats and - Murph the Dachshund.

  • Our experience here with both Christine and Rene was exceptional. Great communication for a start, very welcoming, and a gorgeous property.
To have a B&B spotless goes without saying, but to have the added touches of an amazing breakfast in just the most beautiful surroundings was a special part of the experience. Christine has her B&B because she loves people and has an amazing gift of hospitality, not because she can make a dollar.
Can definitely recommend this little spot which is in the country yet close to some great places to visit if you feel like leaving!

  • This B&B is a treat.
We were here for four days and were sad to leave. The location is breathtaking, the farmhouse wonderful and hostess Christine warm and welcoming. The room is cosy and has a good bed (and fresh flowers upon arrival!). The bathroom has a big bath that easily fits two. Breakfast is fresh, organic and with local products (fresh eggs from their own chickens!).

We spent our days roaming the woods, walking around the picturesque towns and taking in the views of the IJssel and everything else that this beautiful part of the Netherlands has to offer. We'd love to come back soon!

    Kortom: aanrader!

Christine went extra miles in her care of us. Nice little touches from her.
The breakfasts were wonderful, BBC radio 3 too just for us english, a gorgeous dog, great fun and laughter, relaxation, stories........
    Loved it all.

I love to live in the countryside. We are very lucky that we have an old Dutch farmhouse as our home and that is situated in the most beautiful part of the Netherlands called: De Veluwe! Every day I enjoy being in the woods, across the heather and in the fields of the IJsselvalley, walking with our dog and taking care of our sheep and chickens. For me, hospitality is a way of life: making our home "a home away from home" for our guests. To share and enjoy the good life of this special place in Heerde. "A warm welcome awaits you"! "A warm welcome awaits you!"
