Our home away from home in Cabo has 4 bedrooms - 2 of the rooms share a bath off of the hallway, a 3rd room on the front part of the house has a private bath, and the master has both a private bath and sliding glass doors that lead to the pool area. Upstairs has the living room, kitchen, and outdoor dining with grill.
Highlights of the house - great pool with ample space for sunbathing. A stairway from the pool area takes you back up to the main living space. There is also a sliding glass door that goes directly to the master bedroom from the pool area.
From the living area & terrace, enjoy views of Lands End and the cruise ships..... or, just get lost in a book - easy to do!
We are located in a neighborhood called El Tezal..... up a dirt road with locals all around....mostly Gringos. Easy access to some conveniences - Costco, a few gyms in the area with day rates, and a Corona distributor at the entrance of the main road. (Modelorama)
It's about a 5 minute drive to town. There are a lot of really great restaurants - some quite near the house (though none within walking distance) and others in the downtown area. We'd be happy to provide some recommendations - our top 3 favorites in town are Pancho's (well, it's owned by members of our family, authentic Mexican, and really great ribs!!), Hacienda Beach Club (amazing serene environment right on the water), and Gardenia's (hands down the best place for quick tacos and fabulous Margaritas or a beer). Don't expect it to be on the water with views - it's in town, turn left at McDonald's, down a couple of blocks on the right.
The marina is always a wonderful place for food plus people watching!!!
Medano Beach is the "swimming" beach. Turn left at the first signal in town & you will find public parking, to the left of Cascadas..
If you decide to head out of town on a road trip, Todos Santos is always fun (go see what everyone thinks is Hotel California along with local art) with a must see stop at Art & Beer along the way (Oysters, More Margaritas, and really cool rustic seating). A drive back to San Jose (near the airport) is also great due to a good variety of restaurants & more shops!
We've spent a lot of time in Cabo over the past 15 years and we love it...so much so that we bought our own place You tell us what you like and we'll tell you where to go!
Interaction with Guests
I am available by ph(phone number hidden) or email
We have a property manager who is local (in Cabo) and a gal who is available to assist with any extra activities, chef in the home, etc.
We are located in a neighborhood called El Tezal..... up a dirt road with locals all around....mostly Gringos.
We like it because there are not many neighbors & so have a feeling of privacy
No "convenient" public transportation. We suggest you rent a car. If you want to take the public bus, you would need to walk to the bottom of the main road. If you do not rent a car, you will need to call a taxi to get to & from town.
Other Things to Note
30 day cancellation policy. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to call me.
We don't have many rules! First and foremost - have a great, relaxing vacation. That is the point!
We can accommodate up to 8 persons, but remember 2 rooms will share a bath.
Your stay includes housekeeping services after the fact, so, no need to strip beds when you leave. But, you're on your own while on site - you can use the washer/dryer to freshen the sheets or towels as you see fit. For longer stays, housekeeping will be provided once a week.
There is a TV, but no satellite connection. There are DVDs for you to enjoy, but bring your own if you have favorites.
There is WiFi internet connection. The code is on the back of the modem/router by the phone in the kitchen.
Just be courteous of our things - we also travel to this home regularly and hope that you will enjoy, and respect the home just as we do. Thank you and enjoy!
This spacious villa exceeded our expectations! The wifi and stateside phone service were priceless as there is limited service locally. Everything was clean and insect free. With Costco and Super Walmart almost next door we created our own restaurant style meals at home. 7 adults had the time of their lives and spent most of the time on the huge bbq deck from sun up to well after sundown. We will undoubtedly stay longer next time as we were the envy of all the folkRens back home who wanted to come down the next week. Directions and entry instructions were spot on.
Travel note: There is no wifi or phone service at the Cabo Airport so make sure all in your party are flying in together if you can. Also rental car agencies require Mexican liability insurance. Check to see if your stateside insurance covers driving in Mexico. If not there is a surcharge of about $20/day. None of this is the fault of the renter and in no way diminished our enjoyment once we got to the villa. See you next year!
Casa Cabo Vista was amazing! It was very clean and very well decorated. We particularly loved the terrace: it was perfect for grilling and relaxing after a day of surfing.
Margaret was also very fast to answer all the questions we had before and during the trip.
I would definitely recommend this house and wish we could have stayed longer!
Margaret was awesome! She made herself very available and answered my questions before the trip, very promptly. The directions to get to the house were spot on. The home was beautiful and we would love to stay again! We felt very safe and the house was very comfortable. Margaret has obviously taken a lot of time and energy decorating the home and making each room feel unique. The kitchen was fully stocked and the binder with house and city info was very helpful (and thorough)! We spent most of our time in the pool or on the terazza. We didn't want to leave. Thank you Maggie for opening your home for others!!
Maggie's home was absolutely stunning. I visited with three close friends and we spent many afternoons lounging by the pool and cooking dinners in the well-appointed kitchen. The outdoor grill and dining table are wonderful. Everything about the home was comfortable and accessible, including the beds, linens, and towels. As others have said, I highly recommend renting a car so that you can easily get to town and to get groceries. I look forward to visiting this property again!
Casa Cabo Vista was wonderful!! We had a fabulous experience, the home was very clean, plenty of room for the 6 of us in our party (4 grandkids). The location is good and the home very secure - gated entry and garage. On our next trip to Cabo, we would definitely
Comfortably housed five adults and three children. Great for relaxing at the pool, reading on several decks, and entertaining.
I treated my family to Cabo for Christmas and New Years Eve and could not have picked a nicer home. I would agree with other reviewers that if you stay here renting a car is handy as the taxi companies have difficulty finding you.
The house and amenities are everything as described by the owners. There are so many spots outside - there are three balconies/patios that you can retreat to, not to mention the pool area as well. The home is decorated in a Mexican style which is lovely, the home is very well appointed and there is nothing you can't find (we cooked in a lot) and had everything one could think of. I found it a much better way to vacation in Cabo as opposed to the normal "resort stay", and much quieter and relaxing.
There is a plastic covering for the stink stopper in the drawer closest to the fridge so you can fill the sink. Let the hot water run for a few minutes before doing the dishes.
If phoning a local cell number there are a few digits you have to dial first (044) I think? Be prepared to wait a 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour even though the cab company will say 15 minutes - or book ahead.
Put the heating cover on the pool (Dec-Jan) for the water to warm up for afternoon swimming.
This truly is a 5 star home and I would rent it again in a heart beat!
