Located in Glen Iris. Glen Iris Train station is approx 100 metres from the apartment so a few minute walk. Glen Iris is 13K from the CBD. Glen iris station is 100 metres from apartment and High St Tram is 200 metres from apartment which will take you in to the CBD, Prahran, Malvern etc . The apartment is east north facing. You literally wake to a sunset from the east facing bedroom window and balcony and other windows are north facing. The outlook is extremely green and private. The property is surrounded by bike and walking tracks of Gardiners creek Glen iris.
Just normal consideration for other residents in the block. This is a small group of 12 apartments. Parking is at the rear of the property in the middle of the back fence.
Great location close to freeway, trains and trams. Host was very quick and responsive to questions, and flexible with changing dates. The unit was simple but comfortable enough. Warm and sunny and up high. There was no issue with traffic noise despite the location. The bathroom and kitchen could do with a renovation, and newer pots, pans and utensils etc , but overall it was good value for money. It was nice that basics such as detergent, tissues and etc were provided on arrival. Access and parking was a bit tricky at the beginning, but we quickly got used to it . The unit is located on a busy road and next to a motorway off-ramp and we missed the driveway at first and had to double back.
As this was my very first Airbnb experience, I was tentative. However, Bill's clear and timely communication and accurate representation of the accommodation in photos allayed these reservations. The location suited my needs and the cost per night was most reasonable. There was no noise from neighbours, the flat was very clean and I felt safe there. I particularly appreciated the pantry supplies, cleaning products and necessities provided. As I visit Melbourne regularly I will certainly return.
Wifi functioneerde overigens verder uitstekend.
Fantastic apartment, clean and perfect location as described. Everything was easy, host Bill was efficient with communication. Highly recommended!
GOOD: great location, a neat little place, very convenient. I booked this place for my mother & her 2 friends (have told Bill up front that the place is not for me) as I live locally in Glen Iris and both mum and I were having surgery. Place is comfortable for 3 small Asian ladies.
BAD: absolutely too hot for Melbourne Feb weather, the fan does nothing for the heat. We had to buy an extra fan. I have specifically asked Bill whether the apartment is on the third (top) floor (as I knew that this would be too hot in Feb) and he said 2nd flr. He's right because the floors are named G, 1 & 2. Don't know if this was intentional but I definitely would not have booked if I had known it's on the top floor. The place was left messy by previous guests and not cleaned properly. Also 3 flights of stairs were quite difficult for old ladies with lots of luggages (one who just had surgery.)
UGLY: I have asked my husband to contact Bill (mum & I were in hospital at the time) about the WiFi not working (Didn't care much about WiFi not working - Didn't really expect it) but Bill was so incredibly aggressive to my husband. He actually told my husband 'f**k you' after about 2 sentences. We were absolutely flabbergasted by why he would be this aggressive for no reason. We know we did nothing to cause this. Unfortunately, it was too late to move. I was extremely unimpressed with Bill's behaviour. He pretended nothing happened afterwards and behaved normally (got things fixed when needed to, etc. I got my poor mum to deal with him directly after that) so the rest of the stay was pleasant enough (except extremely hot) But obviously the good will was lost.
Nice little light apartment. Very clean. Exactly the things one need for a pleasant stay; good bed, working kitchen, wifi, nice bathroom etc. Bill was a very good and professional host, responding immediately to any inquiries. Location was a bit far off the center, but not even a problem with the train. Bill was even kind enough to send us a phone we left behind by mistake.! We recommend staying at this apartment.

We stayed at the Glen Iris apartment for a bit more than a month. We never got to meet Bill in person but he was very helpful and responded within the hour. Location of the apartment is perfect transport-wise within walking distance to the train station. The area itself doesn't have much, only one bakery-cafe across the street; closest amenities are within a kilometer in Glen Iris, or in Ashburton which is the nearest suburb. Closest shopping centre is the one of Tooronga, within a 4' driving distance. Would recommend a car if you're staying for long and need amenities to be closeby. The apartment itself is slightly older than it looks, but this is something I'd read from a previous review so was prepared for it. There is a great variety of DVDs and the apartment is satisfactorily equipped. Cleaning-wise I can't say the apartment was delivered dirty, but I wouldn't say it was spotlessly clean either (wardrobe was old and dusty inside, shower curtain moulded and stove oily). Clean floor, sheets and towels though. Overall, we enjoyed our stay! Thanks Bill
