This was my first Airbnb experience where I did not get to meet the host, so everything had to be done independently. Tip : get a SIM card with your data all settled, makes it so much easier to navigate there. I never got to meet Bill in person throughout my trip, but communication with him was easy. He responds very quickly via the Airbnb chat. The place is homey, but not the cleanest, mainly the kitchen. I am a little particular about cleanliness, so I took it upon myself to clean up the place a bit. House is well-equipped - soap, towels, powder detergent is all provided. Some things we topped up on our own, but I assume most of the guests do pay it forward - buying essentials and leaving it for the next group to use. I was on my own for the first 5 days, the place is located really near Glen Iris station, making it really easy to get to town and back. Lots of great food within walking distance of about 2km as well - great scenery for walks in the evening. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
Great place.. 2 minute walk to the train station (Glen Iris). Local shops are a 3 minute walk away (bakery/convenience store).
Bill was very quick to respond to any questions I had for him and was happy to help.
The apartment is lovely and neat in a secure block. The location is great, right near the train station and some shops. It's quite spacious for a 1 bedroom. The host was very easy to communicate with and instructions to access the apartment and check out were very clear.
Conveniently located near the city area.
Clean environment and communications with Bill was easy.
While this apartment was inexpensive, very close to public transport, bright and sunny with a pleasant outlook, I think the owner could make a bit of effort to maintain the property. The shower was just a dribble and very difficult to get the temperature right. The mixer obviously needs replacing. The ceiling and walls in the bathroom are covered with flaking paint and mold. A bit of effort here and an expel-air would not go astray. The bedroom window would not open. There seems to be just one powerpoint in the middle of the lounge with a dozen connections off it so when the heater is put on the switch blows. There are mice in the place, you can hear them running over the floor at night. The internet was not paid up and I had to call and ask for this to be done. Come on Bill get your act together and be a real landlord not a slum landlord.
Received detailed instructions on how to check-in at anytime :)
Was great because we were gonna reach only at night.
Clean place, comfortable size and layout.
Did a lil' cooking too!
There's also 1 car park space, which is great.
