Loft on the last 2 floors in a 4 floors building.
The apartment has the exceptional advantage in Paris to be very sunny (crossing North/South) and quiet (in a traficless alley).
It was completely refurbished 1 year ago in a personal style between the New York loft (brick and iron beams), design with stainless steel, wooden floor and furniture in exotic wood and Parisian old style with its oak beams and the attic under the roof.
At the lower level : a large main room including a living (email hidden), a kitchen (lacquered white furniture) fully equipped, a laundry room and a WC. The upper level includes a bathroom with Italian shower, a large office space, a WC and 2 bedrooms. One of them is the guest room in which you will be settled. The bed is here a futon Omote with a confortable mattress overlay.
The apartment is always tidy for I am a very orderly person. It contains 2 large TVs.
It's located between the place de La Bastille and the place de la Republique, it is also 2 steps away from the area of Le Marais and the Père Lachaise Cemetery. Richard Lenoir (line 5) and Saint Ambroise (line 9) Metro stations are at 100 meters range.
To get out, dine, have a drink or party, La Roquette street, Lappe street and the Oberkampf district are in the nearby area.
A Franprix supermarket is 50 m away. Several others are less than a 10 minute walk away including the Richard Lenoir market and its 115 sellers. It stands every Thursday from 7: 00 a.m. to 2: 30 pm and on Sundays from 7 am to 3 pm. It is the most animated of Paris, and the favorite of tourists coming to purchase regional products.

In the standard definition of a “Private Room “in an apartment, one would expect short term sleeping arrangements with a minimum of Guest amenities. The room rated @ US$100 nightly, turned out to be a sleep on a bumpy mattress thrown over a Futon set in a corner of what is in fact the host’s dressing room.
All draws and closet are fully occupied by the owner’s belongings … you get a few left over inches on one of the 2 hanging clothe racks on wheels standing in the room. You share the rest of the space with the vacuum cleaner, tool box and recycling waste basket. No chair, no desk nor table.
Otherwise, the host and his loft are absolutely charming. Both clean and tidy! The 4th floor with no lift should prompt one to be in good shape when checking in or out… as long as you travel with no consequent luggage! There is nowhere to put them anyway ! Ha ha !
Rather atypical with Airb&b transactions, a week after confirmation and payment, the owner contacted me to shorten my stay or cancel all together. A more interesting offer for him turned up, partly overlapping my stay. I decided to accept the conditions to shorten my reservation, and undertake the inconvenience of having to move out and go to a friend of his.
I capitulated after 3 nights of painful sleep on my 9 days reservation, and choose to leave feeling rather disenchanted.
Esther, I am really flabbergasted.
Such a level of hypocrisy and doggedness borders simply on the dishonesty.
I asked you several times if everything was well and every time you answered me with a smile that everything was OK.
I could unsettle point by point your contemptuous notice.
To be frank, I knew from your arrival that it would be difficult with you and it is the reason why I tried to spend my nights somewhere else by leaving you the whole apartment. You seem to be used to occupy suites of 4-star hotels and have not at all the Airbnb spirit.
You turned up with your 4 Vuiton luggages then sorry if the room could not contain all your effects. The office was enough big to deposit them there.
The futon is clearly announced in the form of the apartment, I do not hide it. An entire hanging clothes rack is also at the disposal of the travelers as well as the top of the big chest of drawers. If you needed more place, you have a tongue and you can ask for it.
The trash can about which you speak is a wastebasket for papers made of straw. And if it was unconvenient for you, there was only to tell it to me or just to move it in the office close by. The desk was itself at your disposal if you wished to occupy it. Also the table in the lounge.
I am sorry to learn that you are not able to count to 3 because I confirm you that it is a 3rd floor without elevator (I hold my bill of sale of the apartment at your disposal). I say it also clearly in the form of the apartment. It is certain that you more have to be used to the elevators of luxury hotels.
Finally as regards the proposal of change of place, I spoke to you about it more than a month before your arrival and you agreed to benefit the last 2 days of the apartment of a friend as a whole, that is for you alone, and in an even more central district. Do not come to blame in for people what you accepted previously. I gave you the choice at the time to cancel the reservation.
I hope especially that other Airbnb host will not pay the price for your presence and recommends you to keep your habits in hotels. Airbnb is a platform of putting in contact between real people, not a cold site for fortunate tourists avid to make unhealthy money savings.
The apartment is brilliant, very quiet, large, hotel clean and modern. Frederic was the perfect host and was always available when required. I would stay here again. Thanks Frederic!
