About this listing
Beautiful studio in 150 year-old apartment building in the Lower Garden District.
The building was recently renovated and features 10 foot ceilings, 8 foot windows, granite counter tops, stainless kitchen appliances, a Jacuzzi bathtub, in-unit laundry and dryer.
There is free wi-fi Internet, a flat screen TV, DVD player, HDMI hookup for laptop or ipad, surround sound speaker system, neat freshwater aquarium, free street parking. Tastefully decorated with New Orleans flair, professionally cleaned. Full sized futon with independently encased coil mattress, with an extra twin mattress that slides out from beneath. The landlord does not allow cats or dogs or smoking in this unit.
The studio is one block away from famous Magazine Street shops, restaurants, cafes and a 24 hour gym. Three blocks from the streetcar stop on St. Charles Avenue- about halfway between Audubon Park and the French Quarter. There is plenty of free on-street parking but really no need for a car! Just walk, streetcar, and bike your way to anywhere between the levee and the Marigny.
I sometimes rent this studio out when traveling, in order to have a trusted guest to keep an eye on the place and my fish and plants. I highly value my relationships with the neighbors, lots of mutual respect and goodwill that I want to foster.
As a note: I have used every dollar earned on AirBnB to pay off student loans or donate to local charities! It helps get me motivated to clean and organize the place before your stay :)
No smoking or cats or dogs in the unit.
Two guests max.
Trevor was a fantastic host. His place was even nicer than the pictures and extremely clean. It was a great experience staying at Trevor's place.
As advertised: wonderful apartment in a great Lower Garden District neighborhood! It was so much nicer to come "home" to this sweet little apartment than it would have been to stay at a hotel. Things we enjoyed: comfy bed, feeding and watching the fishies and little crab in Trevor's aquarium, the community garden next door, walking to the street car and to Magazine St, having a fridge and Britta water filters, very convenient parking.
Trevor was very nice, responsive, and hospitable. I loved that he provided environmentally-friendly soap (Dr. Bronners) and even left little mints on our pillows :) That was cute, and way above and beyond. We would definitely rent this apartment again - in a heartbeat.
It didn't cross my mind to bring a blow drier.. (Duh! Remember this, ladies.) But you know what? When you're well-rested and happy, who notices your hair?
This is a charming little apartment in the heart of the Lower Garden District. Within just a few minutes' walk you can get a good cup of coffee, have a delicious burrito or go to a nice bar. The apartment itself is well-lit and clean. Trevor has left great directions anticipating any question you might have about your stay. I'd recommend this as a place to stay for any individual or couple who wants to explore this beautiful neighborhood.
Great location, communicative host, very cozy space. All in all a solid place to stay!
Trevor was a great host and we enjoyed our stay in his studio apartment. Conveniently located near the trolleys for access into the french quarter and short walking distance to historic magazine street. I would definitely return to this airbnb and recommend it to others.
Such a clean, orderly, well situated place! This studio is just like its pictures and very comfortable for two people. Stayed a week, and felt just like home with any needed item readily available. Trevor was promptly communicative from the get-go, and stayed in touch during and after our relaxing visit. We used public transportation to get around the city (highly recommend this, traffic and parking can be headaches!) and this place is close by access points for two major routes. He is a great and gracious host, even welcomed us with chocolates on the pillows. Would absolutely stay again!
About the Host, Trevor
Lived in 5 States and 5 countries in the past 10 years, but love New Orleans the most. Interests: sailing, cooking, coffee, olives, traveling, languages. I looked for an apartment in the heart of the city and have tried to make it a nice and relaxing place to be. Part of why I signed up for Airbnb was to share this great space and New Orleans experience with other travelers. I love living in this place and hope you enjoy it too- please take good care of it!
I have used every dollar earned on AirBnB to pay off student loans or to donate to local charities. It helps get me motivated to clean and organize the place before your stay :)
Hope you enjoy your time in New Orleans!
