I'm a jazz pianist who's sometimes away from my apartment.
Greenwich Village is quiet, safe, and full of life. The neighborhood is splendid for walking around. It's nestled amid fine eateries, strollworthy High Line park, bustling St. Marks, shopping down Broadway to the boutiques of SoHo. Best of all, Union Square, a major transit hub and home to the largest farmers' market in NYC, is two blocks away.
AND Washington Square Park (my favorite) is only four blocks away. You'll be a few train stops to museums, times square, central park and even the waterfronts and brooklyn. Right next door are the teeming Strand bookstore, cafés for croissants and hot cocoa (the cozy Pain Quotidien is my favorite), and lots of small restaurants. I love living here...Amenities include:
* high ceilings, gas kitchen, outdoor space, air conditioning
* bright bedroom (dark curtains), queen-sized organic foam bed
* bathroom with bathtub, hair dryer and all-natural shampoo/soaps
* loft area with its own queen bed with the plushest mattress topper I could find
* grand piano, my baby which I am trusting you with...if you play piano that's great :) (also acoustic guitar/hand drums)
* wood-tiled balcony with hammock/bench/table facing a quiet street, great for candlelit evenings
* large work desk, dining table, three-seat sofa with a reclining seat (also good for sleeping one person)
* wireless broadband internet
* guest computer available for going online (let me know if you want me to set this up)
* elevator and laundry in building
* towels and linens provided of course
* iron and ironing board
* super awesome games like taboo and scrabble

Dear Eric -
Elle and I had a splendid time in NYC, and your place and your kindness were part of the trip's success. Your apartment is airy, stylish and perfectly located. Thanks a million!! Laura and Elle Gold
Our stay with Eric was great! He was there to meet us when we arrived at his apartment and on the phone to direct us before!
His apartment is just how it looks in the pictures and the balcony/hammock is a lovely place to relax after a long day of walking and sight seeing! The bed is super comfortable and the room quiet for a place in NY- another important factor for us when choosing somewhere to stay.
The location is great, less than 5 minutes from Union Square subway and close to the East Village which has loads of cool places to shop and eat.
We would recommend you to stay here! Thanks Eric!
Me and my friends had a really great stay at Eric's place. Location was perfect, just 2 blocks from Union Square and easy to get anywhere in the city. Apartment was comfortable, tidy and convenient for 4 adults. We stayded in New York 10 days. Eric was really nice, friendly and helpful host. It was easy to communicate with him - he responded quickly to e-mails and also gave great tips for us about NYC. We would definitely recommend Eric's place. Many thanks Eric!
Eric the apartment is very well located in the center of Manathan. Very convenient base for feet on Broadway Avenue. We loved the Bio market in Union Square. Beautifull week in New-York.
Eric is very nice.
My friends and I had a really pleasant stay at Eric’s! His apartment is very nice and very well located (2 blocks off Union Square with several subway lines). Eric is also a great host, helpful, reliable and easy to communicate with! Do not hesitate to contact him :)
I gave Eric a challenge.I sought to rent his apartment to put 3 Australian Musician friends of mine in while they were visiting NYC to play a Concert. I imagine a lot of people would refuse my request thinking, they would be noisy or messy..I sort to create a strong communication with Eric via emails with youtube links of interviews and concerts with my friends. He agreed to meet me in person.before they arrived.and then he even attended their Concert. The Weather was terrible the week they were in NYC. Blizzards..etc Erics lovely, warm comfortable apartment made all the difference to my friends and me. I was able to access the apt before they arrived and cooked a whole roast dinner. It is situated in the best area in NYC. With all subways and late night food and wholefoods supermarkets around the corner. inc. Joe's Coffee.. which is the first Question on every Australian's wish list. I introduced Eric to not only my Musician friends after their Concert in NYC but also to my New York Resident friends..Eric was surrounded by a crowd of fans of his delightful apartment. Everyone intending to recommend his apt over Hotels to stay at in the future.. at the Concert, 2 of them had already passed on his details. From my point of view, I've made a new NYC Friend in Eric. I return every year to NYC as I used to work there, I'll be contacting Eric to drag him around my Favourite Jazz Clubs and haunts..What a generous, charming Host. Also, its in an area where there are Cabs! and the Best Pizza in NYC is next door.
It was a great stay in NYC! We were there in January 2014 and the cold was terrible!
The flat oh Eric was nice and well located. The character and the location of the apartment are its best advantages. It was big enough for 3 people too. We couldn't enjoy the balcony. But in summer, it should be perfect.
But we had a problem with the heaters: one in the habitation didn't work at all and the others not so well. They didn't seem to be vented. We were cold as hell in january even Eric bought mini heaters.
So if you want to be in this neighborhood, it's a great place, but not in winter for me :-)
Staying in Eric's apartment was a great experience. The place was cool, cozy, clean, and the location is just perfect! Eric is very nice and easy to communicate with. I would recommend the place anytime and I will definitely contact Eric again when I come to NYC next time.
Eric's place was bliss. Upon arrival Eric was there to greet us with flowers and a smile. He was so lovely and welcoming which set us up for a great stay. We had everything we needed including a super comfy bed and a small but efficient kitchen. Location is way too good with the UNION SQAURE subway station (a major hub for numerous subway lines) a short walk from your NY home away from home. We had New Years here and I am still smiling almost a month on. I did get to play his grand piano too which made me so happy. THANKS ERIC YOU DA BEST!
I just returned from an incredible trip to NYC made even more incredible by our awesome stay at Eric's apartment. The location was perfect and apartment was super clean and organized.
Eric was a great host, graciously waiting for us to arrive from the airport at 1AM and filling us in on his favorite neighborhood spots.
We really enjoyed his iPod speaker set up and both beds were very comfortable.
I would definitely recommend staying here - I know I will be again during my next trip to NYC!
