  • This place is amazing! Great for people who like to cook and convenient to Dry Creek Valley, Napa Valley, Russian River, and Sonoma! It's literally in the middle of everything, but because it's deep in the woods, is still very private. The greatest part is the decor! My parents and I marveled at the collection! Matt was also very helpful in giving hints on where to eat and where to go for wine. I couldn't have enjoyed myself more and despite being well traveled, my Dad claims this was the "greatest trip he's ever taken."

  • Matt's home is an absolute charmer. The location is defintely remote, up a windy hill, but just the coolest place! Every nook of the home is decorated impecabbly with an wonderful eclectic charm. We LOVED it. We couldn't stop taking pictures of the decor to show family and friends when we returned. All the beds are comfy and the kitchen is FULLY stocked with some of the coolest cutlery and a crazy awesome salt collection!!!

Located VERY close to wineries and restraunts. Matt was the best host and explained all details of the house very clearly!

We wish we could have stayed longer!!!!!

  • What a charming getaway in the wine country mountains. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we enjoyed every second. The multiple patios were perfect for relaxing with a book and the variety of art and plant life really creates a unique and picturesque experience. Thanks for everything, Matt!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Matt's house. The two bedrooms + back cottage perfectly accommodated the three couples staying. Matt was a very thoughtful host. He left a welcome basket for us in the kitchen, and detailed instructions for everything in the house. We would definitely stay here again!

  • This house was the perfect setting for a birthday weekend in wine country! A very welcome alternative to a typical hotel or bed and breakfast, this retreat offers a spacious home, full kitchen (a dream for any home cook), tasteful and eclectic decor, and a backyard paradise of your very own (we woke up to the sight of blue jays every morning). Matt was incredibly communicative and had nothing but great suggestions for the area. We were happy to drive a little out of the way to have this beautiful home to ourselves and we absolutely recommend it for your next trip to wine country. Plus points for Matt's incredibly quick and thorough responses!

  • This place is unique and comfortable. It has a nice private location close to all the wineries. Matt was a great host, didn't meet him, but a pleasure to communicate with via phone, email and text. We just used the main house and had a wonderful time.

  • I went to tour Napa/Sonoma valleys with my wife and her family, and we had a fantastic time using Matt's place as our home base. The house was immaculately clean with a professional kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Even the detached guest room was a fun place to stay. The house is located a bit out of the way between Napa and Sonoma, but it is a short drive to either if you don't need to be immediately amidst the wineries.

Matt was a great host with stellar communication and flexibility. I would strongly recommend others to stay at Matt's as a cheaper alternative to visiting California wine country. You won't be disappointed!

  • Very secluded and cozy cabin, although road to cabin is dark. Great place to hangout and get away from the city. Fully stock kitchen with all the tools needed to cook a great meal. Nice experience overall.

We are professionals who love to travel, surf, and Art of all kinds. We fell in love with this house for its secluded forested location, and our ability to weave into it a love of gardening and art. As well as a love of food, wine, and cooking. This house is perfect for staying 'in' and just hanging out, enjoying the garden and fountain, and seeing the sites so close by. Bothe state park is a short drive for fantastic hikes, and amazing wineries in every direction.
