About this listing
You can stay at our house next to Keller's Beach in Pt Richmond adjoining East Bay Regional Park. You have upstairs bedroom-bath plus smaller bedroom and LR-DR-kitchen with a view of San Francisco Bay, with lots of amenities in a great location.
While we are away, you can stay at our house in Point Richmond. It's on a hill that runs into the beach so the view is fantastic, and you can use the kitchen and living room/dining room, hot tub and downstairs bathrooms, plus the upstairs suite and one downstairs bedrooms while we are away! Two week minimum stay, and six week max stay.
Ideally we would like guests with a dog, and who want our retired greyhound Belvedere to stay with them. Belvedere knows the area well, because the regional park is off leash (as well as the archery range). Belvedere goes outside as he wishes because our street is a very small road that deadends not long after our house (and the park begins).
Our house is full of stairs (hey we are on a hill), and so this is not a good house if you are injured or have mobility problems. Otherwise people love the exercise the stairs provide!
We are across the street from Keller's Beach, a small little beach on SF Bay. Our view is of San Francisco skyline, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, Angel Island, Mt. Tamalpais, The sunset is constantly wicked. We live by Miller-Knox Regional Park that has super nice hiking trails along the bay and in the surrounding hills!
Plus you can use our kayak, not to mention an archery range, right across from our house! Yes, did we tell you that Richard is an expert archer, and if you arrive before we leave, he can give you a quick archery lesson.
Plus we have a lovely Tibetan Buddhist meditation hut that looks out over the SF Bay. Please remove shoes, and keep the screen up when not using it. Also only water or tea inside hut.
Point Richmond is a cute little town, with restaurants and taverns where you can sit outside (or inside to watch sports on TV).
Our place is an 8-minute drive (or 12-min bus ride) to the Richmond BART (a subway system that will take you to San Francisco in about 30 minutes), a 15-minute drive from Berkeley (where I teach Economics at UC), and a 5-minute walk from downtown Point Richmond, which has a nice selection of restaurants, art shops, and bars.
Oh there is also a hot tub! It's outside on the patio so you can relax while listening to the waves. Plus a Bowflex machine you can use in the exercise room by the hot tub.
Our kitchen is fully stocked for you to cook.
We have a big flat screen HDTV, and get broadcast channels (or stream from your computer), but no cable. You can stream shows through Netflix or Amazon because our wifi connection is fast.
Our guests love our place for its views, the beach, the hills for walking, and for being close to SF, Berkeley, the wine country. A terrific place to enjoy the SF Bay area!
Our kitchen is fully stocked, and we have a solar heated hot tub. Plus a kayak and lots of hiking trails. Did we mention our meditation hut, with an amazing view of SF Bay. As our Tibetan Buddhise Rinpoche said, when he blessed it, "This is a peaceful place."
Interaction with Guests
We will be away, and available online. We want to meet you before we leave. We assume you either have a dog or love dogs, and we have a few dog beds around (no dogs on furniture).
Point Richmond is a small village and fun to explore with its restaurants, bars, and shops.
We provide a Survival Guide to our town, and hiking trails, and (hopefully) all you need to know to enjoy life.
Also people love to explore nearby Berkeley and Marin area. Not to mention hop on BART and explore San Francisco. Plus we have awesome walks on the beach and by the Bay that can last from 10 minutes to two hours. Every other Sunday, you can join us to practice meditation and hear a lesson by an amazing Tibetan Lama, Anam Thubten Ripoche. People travel from all over to practice with him.
Enjoy nature, the Bay, and San Francisco area!!!
You can take the bus over to BART (12 mins to BART, then 12 mins to Berkeley and 35 mins to SF). Or drive to Berkeley, or to the BART station, and take BART to SF. Everything is very conveniently close by.
