The "Capannina" is a unique and well-kept immersed in the green, bright with wooden flooring double bed in the loft, ideal for young couples, kitchen, bathroom, large garden, solarium, parking, breakfast, mountain-bikes for walks in the plains.
The "Capannina" is unique and well furnished location, with finest details, surrounded by green landscapes and fully immersed in the silence of the Toscany countryside. It is ideal for romantic getaways and holidays.
The “Capannina” is an indipendent one bedroom house, located in a recently renovated old farmhouse (called “Podere San Felice”), with exposed beams and wooden floors. There is a double bed in a wooden loft, ideal for young couples. It is provided with fully equipped corner kitchenette with a washing mashine. There is one bathroom with shower.
Parking free, one shared entrance and one second entrance. Mountan bike and wireless are also provided.
Surrounded by large relaxing garden, in common with the owners, equipped with shed, table, wooden chairs for outdoor dining and sunbathing area.
A car is needed because it is three kilometres far from the nearest town, “San Rocco a Pilli”, where you can find public transportation.
The “Capannina” is also 10 Km from “Siena” and “Casciano di Murlo”, where there is an outdoor swimming pool. It is 6 km far from the “Merse” river, 25 km far from the St. Galgano Abbey (in this church there is s sword in a rock), 40 km far from “San Gimignano”, 65 km far from “Firenze”.
Linen and cleaning are included. The rate for the Capannina is € 70,00 per day per two people; € 50,00 per day per one person. Minimum two nights are required.
On request I will be glad to share with you meditation and painting sessions in my garden.
The old farmhouse, “ Podere San Felice”, is located in “Val di Merse” plain where in summer sunflowers and wheat grow. This plain is surrounded by the “Montagnola” rolling hills where there are dense oaks and chestnut forests. To discover more about “Montagnola” you could visit the Ethnographic Museum in “Orgia”, lovely little village very close to the Capannina. This museum tells the relationship between the forests and the man, describing old trades such as the charcoal-burner and the wood cutter. In this museum you can find all the information about ancient paths marked by the traces of traditional rural life.
Visiting the “Sovicille” website you can find all the information about the local actractions and you can download trail maps.
Our area is rich in very ancient churches (evendated before 1000 a.c.) as “Ponte allo Spino”, “San Giusto in Balli”, “Pernin” etc, and many castles such as “Montarrenti”, “Palazzaccio”, “Stigliano”, “Capraia”, “Palazzo al Piano”, etc.
This land is also rich in Etruscan and Roman settlements. I suggest visiting the old village of Torri, where in the abbey there is a rare polychrome three floor Romanesque cloister.
I also suggest going along the part of the river that runs from Rosia to Montarrenti in order to see the most actractive land mark of this zone: the “Ponte della Pia”. The legend tells that “Pia de’ Tolomei” passed through this bridge (built in the early Medioevo) going exile to “Maremma” where she was murdered. This event was described by Dante Alighieri in his main opera: “La Divina Commedia”.
Among the actractive beauties there are the seventeent-century Cetinale Palace and the eighteenth-century Villa Linari Palace.
My guests have access to the garden with hammocks, the beautiful flowers and trees; solarium with deck chairs and outdoor shower; the shed with table, benches and chairs for dining al fresco and enjoy the silence of nature; the barbeque to cook meat or grilled vegetables; the outdoor seating under the large umbrella and chairs, bench and coffee table in wood; montaine two bikes for excursions.
Interaction with Guests
Every day at the end of the day I'm glad to know if everything is okay and how was their day.
It 'a flat area surrounded by the Tuscan partner with fields of sunflowers in summer. It lends itself to long walks in mountain-bikes or walking on foot. Surrounded by hills and Sienese mountains, where to find refreshment in the summer immersed in the cool of the woods.
The house is 3 km away from public transport, in the nearby village of San Rocco a Pilli, connected to the city of Siena, where he arrived after 15 minutes. A 4-6 km you will find pretty villages such as Towers, Stigliano, Orgy. A 5 km you can bathe in the river Merse, 20 km bathe in the thermal waters of Petriolo, 15 km swim in the pool of Casciano di Murlo. Turning in the woods meet historic abbeys and churches.
When you arrivals is best if parking space in the left side of the pool. You can go any smoke in the garden where the ashtray is prepared, but not at home, where there are tents and wooden floors. In the house you can find the air conditioner, which you can use, but making sure to turn it on for the hours needed, for example when you come back for 3-4 hours, but the night is not necessary, because if you leave the door and window open a little enters fresh air. The washing machine must be turned on in the evening after 21 hours. Use of washing machine and air conditioner have these rules for energy saving. When you go to bed tch do not leave lights on even external ones. The basic rule is relax and enjoy your Holiday.
I wouldn't stay here again, even though the location is lovely. There is no wifi. I was told on arrival that. No only did it not work, but I had to either go in to the toilet or outside and it would work. Neither worked. I needed to use it but had no luck. It should have been advertised as no Wifi. The flat is very cold and I am not exaggerating. It is freezing and I tried everything to adjust the heart control. The hostess was lovely but spoke no, little English so I couldn't communicate my concerns to her. She also had a lot of rules. I felt like I needed to be invisible. I was nog allowed to leave any lights on or make any noise driving and not allowed to use the washing machine until 9pm!! There is nothing like being cold. Not ok.
The apartment was nice with great terrace and garden. It is situated in a quiet and pleasant locality outside of the city, it includes safety parking. The whole stay was without any problem.
Wonderful experience, just what we needed between Florence and Rome.
Staying at Morena's place was a wonderful experience! The house is colorful and very cozy, very suitable for a couple and actually better than it looks in the pictures. It had everything we needed. It is located in a very convenient place to visit Siena and the neighboring medieval villages by car. Also, the route to get there is very pleasant. I would suggest having directions in advance because the exact street is not very easy to trace.
Morena is a very gentle and sweet person, very helpful and eager to help us with everything. She offered us olive oil, marmalade and cookies during our stay there and she also lent us her umbrella on a very rainy day.
Thank you Morena for these wonderful 3 days! We would love to come back!

Our experience was very pleasant. Morena was very lovely. The home was very cosy and had everything we needed.
We loved it! We got greeted by Morena's young sun (about 18yrs old). Lovely boy that speak good English; he gave us a tour of this very charming and welcoming mini house and phone searched for us all the information we needed (e.g. how to find a nearby open supermarket on a Sunday)
The house was spotless, had all the right commodities, info and maps and lovely decorated.
We slept like babies in our roof top bed, very comfy.
The hosts live in the house next door, very polite and helpful and at the same time very quiet, we had our full privacy and space.
We will definitely go back there if we get the opportunity.
Morena's little house is very beautiful, cosy and above all very clean. Morena and her family is very obliging and friendly. It worked all well with the keys and they were always there in case something would have been wrong.
Thank you, Morena, for the fantastic stay in your house.
