Christine is a fantastic host, she provides a breakfast fit for a king (or queen) and lots of useful tips about what to see and do in the city. The room is huge, homely and quiet, with a very comfy double bed, and an open fire that Christine lit for us both evenings we were there. It's a fascinating building too, originally a vast single house for rich shipping merchants, now split in to large apartments. Christine's is refurbished but retains all its 19th century character.
10 mins walk from Lark Lane, a great place to have a night out in Liverpool. Very friendly. Try Keith's wine bar.
Christine was a great host. She was so accommodating to us during our visit. We had a three week old baby with us and a demanding schedule. Nothing was too much trouble for Christine and she was very flexible.
The room itself was beautiful and my family, who had chosen to stay in a nearby hotel, were all jealous of the amount of space, cleanliness and overall appearance of our room compared to theirs.
Breakfast both days was lovely especially the scrambled eggs on toast! Plus Christine cuddled the baby one morning so that I could actually eat my breakfast!
We were there for an occasion at Sefton Park and it was a short drive away. It was easy to find from Liverpool city centre too.
I thoroughly recommend staying with Christine if you are visiting Liverpool or have a do at Sefton Park.
Christine is a considerate, wonderful and gracious host and her spacious apartment is amazing with a stunning garden. It's a five minutes (sometimes tricky) cab ride from the city centre but nice to see this part of Liverpool too. We greatly enjoyed Christine's company and listening to her travelling and gardening (website hidden). We are also grateful for her carefully compiled handy tips on where to go and what to do in Liverpool (Lunya for tapas was fab!).
Our bedroom was perfect and Christine's thoughtful touches for our comfort were evident around the room. Breakfast was a scrumptious spread and don't miss out on her homemade marmalade and jam which, together with her inspiring tales, were the perfect start to the day.
If you're looking for a warm and genial host in Liverpool, I highly recommend staying with Christine.
Traveling around UK, booked to stay with Christine for 3 nights, warm, welcoming and felt like staying with my aunt, our altered plans were accommodated for when we realized we had mucked up our ferry ride to the isle of man.. So very thankful we found Christine and would recommend her stay to anyone desiring a friendly knowledgable experience, close to centre of Liverpool with everything at your doorstep.
Christine is a very nice person, very caring and respectful. The room is just perfect. The room has a chimney which is particularly appreciable specially when it's cold outside. The bed is one of the best I ever had and the breakfast Christine prepared us was very delicious and copious. My family and I had spent a wonderful moment in these beautiful mansion and in this beautiful city of Liverpool.
Christine provided a warm and welcoming base for our stay in Liverpool. The room - indeed, the entire apartment - is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable with plenty of eye-catching features; far more memorable than a dreary characterless chain hotel. There was even a wood fire burning in the grate of the bedroom to warm us before retiring to bed.
Christine is a wonderful host with a great knowledge of the area, its history and cultural attractions, shared over long, delicious breakfasts which were fresh, substantial and tasty.
Transport links are good (easily accessible by a short taxi or bus journey from the train station and city centre) and the local area (including Sefton Park) is tranquil.
We'll certainly be back. Liverpool is a city rich in cultural delights and interests - we couldn't have wished for a better home base. Thanks again, Christine!

Exceptional. So glad to have found find this place to stay. I am a complete hotel snob and have stayed in many great places but would prefer to stay here again rather than a hotel for value for money, style, comfort, and the warmth of welcome. Chrisine made us feel completely at home and gave great advice about places to visit in the city. She made us a delicious cooked breakfast along with home made jam, cereal etc. The bathroom is shared but right beside the bedroom and the apartment is very large so it feels quite private even though you are sharing.
We travelled into the city centre by bus from just outise in less than 10 minutes.
So impressed that I will recommend this stay for people even if they may not have thought of visiting Liverpool before.
Staying at Christine's is the epitomy of why airbnb is so wonderful - far more than just a place to lay your head. First of all, Christine is a kind and thoughtful host which translates into the most beautiful room for guests. Like so many other people on here she has created a beautiful home and takes pleasure in other people enjoying it! We had a relaxing evening in front of the fire reading books from her collection. Over a lovely breakfast we chatted to Christine who is a fascinating person, and can really bring her city to life through her knowledge of design and its history. I'd encourage you to take your time and add another day in Liverpool - as Christine has so many imaginative ideas for things to do.
