WOW! Where shall I start? The stay, and Kathleen were beyond our expectations. We filtered our search for a hot tub and that together with many glowing reviews was how we got to Kathleen. Kathleen is the consummate host, with no detail missed. We arrived on the late train and called to let Kat know we arrived. We planned to take Tri-Met to the house. Kat offered to pick us up at the depot, and we declined, seemed like aloy to ask. Kat went on to say that from the station nearest the house it would be a 5-6 block walk. At that point, we were beat and asked if we could take her up on her offer and pick us up at the stop near the house. She said, "Of course, takes me about 3 minutes to get there." And the story continues, a smiling, helping house fairy (Kat's cute term) showed us all the pertinent house things, and said Mi casa e su casa. The fridge was stocked with snacks, breakfast options and a variety of both non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. An assortment of Keurig coffees and teas, a basket of fresh fruit and much more. I will stop now since I think you get the picture and close with this amazing true story. On Sunday when we were packing up,my bride calmly asked me to sit with her for a moment, and I of course did. My bride told me she couldn't find her wedding band and engagement ring. Long story short we scoured the house, compost, trash, recycle bins and all we could think of to look. Kat arrived and I asked her to keep an eye for the rings-Kat felt terrible they were missing and jumped in to scour and look some more. Happy ending is Kat was washing the sheets Monday and low and behold found both rings, she called us overjoyed and shipped them over night to Seattle for us! You will be thoroughly pleased with your stay, and we will be staying with Kat every Portland trip from now on!! 5+STARS
Quiet and relaxing! The bed is wonderful, there is a massage chair and a hot tub, breakfast goodies and a Keurig are provided, and there's even an excited boxer to pet. The decorating and art on the walls (Picasso in the bathroom!) add interest. Kat is a wonderful hostess with fascinating stories to share. We would definitely come again.
My last-minute stay at Kathleen's was very enjoyable! The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. Kathleen herself is very welcoming and her sidekick Watson the Boxer is a real love! The house is open to guests with some nice extras available! Besides the vintage Portland charm, there is also a bit hot tub in the backyard! Thank you for your hospitality Kathleen and thank you for accommodating my last-minute schedule!
Kat was a phenomenal host! She immediately made me feel welcome and at home. Her knowledge of Portland proved to be very helpful in finding fun things to do and great places to eat. The location couldn't be better, I loved how quiet it was and the hot tub was a dream. I can't wait for my next visit!
It was our first experience with airbnb ant it was amazing. May be because we are in love, but we liked everything during our stay. The house was very clean, cozy and comfortable, Kat was very friendly and helpful. The house was exactly what we were expecting and even better. We would recommend everyone to stay with Kat and we will certainly come again.
Kat is an amazing host with a beautiful soul! So welcoming and made me feel as if I was staying in my own home. It was a gorgeously enjoyable end to my travels in Portland. Clean and extremely comfortable home and only a short bus ride from downtown Portland. If you're in the Portland area, I highly recommend staying with Kat! I look forward to staying with Kat in the future!
Thank you so much Kat <3
Kathleen is a wonderful host, very helpful and accommodating. Continental-plus breakfast fixings were available, as well as access to the kitchen if we wanted to cook a meal. She has a nice private back yard and our room was clean and comfortable. We definitely look forward to staying with her again on a future trip to Portland.
I stayed with Kat for 6 weeks on an internship this summer and could not have asked for a better host.
Beginning at day one, she pulled out all the stops to make sure I felt comfortable and right at home. From picking me up at the airport to helping me find activities and the best transportation routes, she always went above and beyond to ensure I had the best possible experience.
If you are looking for a place to stay in Portland, stop now because you would be foolish to choose another place. Close to the rail line, a perfect location, hot tub in the backyard, and the perfect host -- this experience was one of a kind.
I truly can;t thank her enough for being so gracious.
Staying with Kat is the epitome of the airbnb experience. First, she has a beautiful home that is tastefully decorated, immaculate and so comfortable, soft luxurious sheets, great towels, even the tissues were soft. The room I had looked out onto a charming garden with a hot tub and fireplace, there is even a banana tree, (in Portland?). Kat herself is great, we became friends immediately, sharing coffee in the mornings, a nice house concert and finally an evening out. To top it off the neighborhood is so quiet you would think you were in the country, all minutes from downtown. I highly recommend her place if you are in Portland.
Kat's Bright 'n Sweet Retreat was wonderful!!! Kat is a friendly and generous host and immediately makes guests feel at ease in her home! The house is clean, comfortable and Kat is a wealth of knowledge about her fun city of Portland, OR. Watson, the dog, makes the house a home and is a fun addition, especially for travelers leaving their own pets at home. I would 100% recommend this Airbnb and would book this home again. An overall great experience!
