Perched comfortably above the hustle and bustle of Little Italy and Chinatown (North Corner of Mulberry and Canal Street), where the eastern edge of SoHo meets the edgy Lower East Side, guests step into the elevator and step out directly into the exposed brick and tin ceiling loft, of the most gigantic space among the many that I host.
Warning: the pictures fail to show the true enormity of the space!
Both of the two master bedroom suites, each with ensuite full baths, are large enough to be studio apartments in Manhattan! There is a further large bedroom in addition to two large living areas, dining area and modern open kitchen with breakfast bar and dishwasher, 3rd full bathroom and utility room with washer and dryer.
Want a massage after a day of traipsing through Manhattan? The second living/family room/den has a full-body massage chair!
Feel like cooking a big dinner or entertaining in a dramatic, wide open space? The main living/dining/kitchen area is approximately 1600sf on its own.
As with most of the other buildings surrounding the loft, this building once was one of many garment factories and warehouses located in this district. Today's Mulberry Street is home to fashion, creative, entertainment and high-tech businesses as well as residents.
Just below the corner loft's noise-eliminating double-glazed windows, the hustle and bustle of Mulberry and Canal Streets goes about daily life. The view outward from the loft feels as though you're sitting in a VIP box watching a show in a big arena. Except the arena is genuine, authentic NYC life. It doesn't get more real, as well as visually captivating.
On the comfort side of things, each of the bedrooms has brand new queen (large double) beds. One of the master suites has a brand new king (extra large double) size bed.
Furnishings are contemporary and appropriate for the space, as are the pictures and objet d'arts decorating the vast exposed-brick interior.
The modern kitchen with gas stove, dishwasher, plates, utensils, substantial counter space...makes for great dinners at the big dining room table just beside.
There is a Bose SoundDock, plus 2 large flat screen tvs, one in each of the living areas.
Along with the 3 large bedrooms, there are also two fold-out sofabeds, each is a double.
Wireless Internet, cable TV and climate controlled central heating and AC are provided along with fresh towels and linens.

A very cheerful and friendly Wally was there to greet us at his fantastic apartment. He gave us all the info we could possibly need and reassured us that he was there if needed. We were seven women on a weekend break to New York and this was ideal. The location was perfect, close to shopping and some wonderful restaurants. The huge apartment meant that no one felt cramped and even with seven women preparing to go out there was plenty of hot water for showers and the three bathrooms meant no one was waiting for long. The area was safe and accessible. Overall I couldn't recommend it highly enough. We hope to return and would definitely stay here again.
The Loft is really gorgeous, an island of elegance and space in the middle of the hustle of Little Italy and Chinatown. Wally is a great host / I certainly recommend this place.
Huge, well-appointed loft conveniently located on Mulberry St. in Little Italy with Chinatown literally across the street. Blocks away from lower Manhattan/Battery Park, one block from subway. Host, Wally Kim, was very accommodating and responsive. The only minor drawback was a bit of noise on the Canal Street side and hearing people walking around on the floor above. Overall, a great experience with a real feel for NYC living.
We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
LOCATION -- Wonderful 3rd floor huge loft on Mulberry St near Canal St (the heart of Little Italy). Lots to do within a few blocks and easy access to the Subway lines. EXPERIENCE -- Very proactive communications starting a few days before the trip made for a no-surprise arrival. Wally and Billy took care of all the details and had the place in perfect condition when we arrived. They were very flexible and responsive. RECOMMENDATION -- Absolutely two thumbs up. If I had three thumbs it would be three thumbs up.
The "Mammoth Loft" apartment speaks for itself!
It's extremely spacious and a really great entertaining space. As other reviews say, it's in a fantastic location. It's a short stroll to the subway, a short stroll to Soho's funky shopping strips and cool cafes. If you feel like an authentic Italian meal, it's in the heart of Little Italy's bustling Mulberry Street.
The wifi, cooking and laundry facilities were all very easy to use and worked well. The place was clean and tidy, there was plenty of linen in the cupboards and other house necessities.
All in all we had a fantastic stay. Billy, Larry and Wally were all very helpful and knowledgable about NYC. I have already recommended this space/place to friends of mine and would love to stay again.
I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!
The apartment is a stunning space. The photos accurately portray the spaciousness and New York loft feel. We were two families of 10 and we found that there was enough space for us all to relax in comfort. It is perfect for two families and the extra tv room is a great area for kids - leaving the lounge free for the adults ! It is a great location and close to the subway, restaurants and the best shops in New York! Wally was very helpful and met us at the scheduled time at the apartment. I would highly recommend the apartment.
A great living space , good location, and Wally very accommodating..
Great location! Incredible apartment! Perfect host!! This apartment was beyond expectations and Wally couldn't have been a more gracious host! Thank you for letting us share your apartment during our stay in NYC!!
My family had a wonderful stay in the loft on Mulberry
Street over Thanksgiving 2013. As advertised, the loft is huge and had everything you'd need for staying in and cooking your meals each night. Wally met us at the loft when we arrived and showed is how everything worked. He made himself available to us during our entire stay. The only knock I have on the place is that it is that noise from outside is very loud all of the time. I get that we were staying in NYC, but it's much louder than I expected and is the only reason I didn't give the place five stars.
Holy cow! This place was incredible. It was clean, truly enormous, comfortable, everything we could have asked for. Wally was super easy to work with. I was in town for business meetings in mid town and found this to be a great alternative to an expensive and small hotel room. Everyone I show the pictures is amazed and wants to know all about AirBNB after I tell them about this. Can't say enough good things. Stay here!
