Angie's place was described perfectly. She has a very comfortable place with plenty of room. Angie greeted me with an offer of Tea and immediatley made me feel very welcome. Her assistance with the public transportation system was greatly appreciated. With a 5 minute walk to Teacher's College, it was the perfect place to stay!
Visiting NYC for a seminar at Columbia, it was my first time traveling to the city solo. Though I was a bit anxious and uncertain about navigating the city, Angie eased all of my worries. She told me the simplest way to get to her place, recommended a great restaurant in the area and met me to help me carry my luggage! It felt like I was meeting a friend. Her apartment is great--- the location, the architecture, the bed (I slept so well there!) But, the real reason to stay here is Angie. She is warm and friendly and welcoming. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
I like concise reviews so I will attempt one here based on my short, 2-night stay:
1. There is no better location if you are doing anything at Columbia. It's a 5-minute walk to campus.
2. Angie is an extremely kind hostess and a very interesting person. I felt like I was staying with family or with a friend. A quick glimpse through the other reviews confirms that this is by far the most common experience that people have at her place.
Given the reasonable price, location, and the hostess, it is hard to see how one can find a better deal.
Visit was super short but she was very accommodating, especially since she had a guest checking out the same day and I had provided the the wrong itinerary wrong. Yet she was understanding. Her place was clean and great location.
Angie was super warm and welcoming and her place was comfy, clean and is in an excellent location (especially if you are attending classes or workshops at Columbia University).
I would highly recommend Angie's place and will definitely want to stay here again in the future!
Angie was a great host, very helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean. The apartment is in a central but also quiet location. She helped me to book a car service and even got up in the early morning on a Sunday to make sure that everything went fine with the pick-up. Highly recommended!!!
Angie is a pleasant, accommodating, and responsive hostess. The room was as advertised; I found it to be comfortable, spacious, and clean. It also has a large desk providing for a perfect work space. It was good to have the bathroom right next to the room so it can be accessed quickly and privately at any time.
Angie lived up to her reputation with making a great cup of cappuccino (actually 3 in my case, as I had one each day) and was generous with her time.
The building is elegant and well maintained and managed, not to mention with a great location!
