About This Listing
Comfortably furnished, sunny, 2 bedroom apt., on the second floor, Colonia Condesa. One bedroom has a queen size bed, the other, 1 single. We're located around the corner from both Parque Mexico and Av. Insurgentes.
The apt. is in a 1940 vintage Art Deco apt. building, and has been restored, preserving the hardwood floors and much original detail. The kitchen is fully equipped (this is our home, not a rental flat) and linens are provided. There is a large TV, DVD, stereo with ipod hookup, wifi, laundry on roof. We're located in a safe, quiet part of Condesa, 1 block from the metrobus (Sonora), a multiplex cinema and mall, Parque México, many restaurants and bars. A modern supermarket as well as a traditional Mexican market are both 4 blocks away, and there are exquisite street markets on Tuesdays and Fridays.
We do not charge a cleaning fee - no surprise extras!
We are LGBT friendly :)
Also please take a look at our other airbnb listing, n(phone number hidden). It's in Malinalco, State of Mexico, 2 hours from the city, and a stay there makes a nice combination with a visit to El D.F.
The only rule is that the apartment is not used for parties or large reunions. No more than 4 guests for dinner please! This is a quiet building.
The apartment was the perfect play for our short stay in Mexico City, conveniently located in a very hip and safe neighborhood close to La Zona Rosa, the park, and metro stops. It was very clean, spacious and comfortable - exactly like the photos illustrate. Nicholas ensured that someone greeted us late at night once our plane landed. Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to feel at home while staying in Mexico City!
Nicholas and Jim are awesome hosts! They left us with great recommendations for markets, walking tours, and restaurants all over the city. Communicating with them was very easy.
The apartment itself is wonderful. It felt like home in the craziness of Mexico City. It is also located conveniently next to very nice neighborhoods with ease of access to public transportation.
Will be back in Mexico City for sure, and I sure hope they have their space open for hosting!
Nicolas was responsive before and throughout our stay, and he took the time to walk us through the apartment and provide some good local recommendations even though he was on his way out of town when we were arriving. The apartment is in a wonderful area, street noise was not a problem. Apartment was nicely decorated and well stocked, lots of art books to peruse and opera to listen to. It felt like a home away from home.

About the Host, Nicholas
I am a journalist writing about food, (book and blog: Good Food in Mexico City). The 'deco apartment' I rent is my own, the other, 'luxury' flat is that of my best friend - I help rent it for her as she is not as computer and English savvy. I am not an agent!
I and my partner do a lot of traveling: in the past 2 years we have been to Spain, France, Holland, Turkey, Greece, India, Cuba, Ecuador, China, all over Southeast Asia. Oh, and the United States.
