This is a simple and modest studio. It even includes a small kitchenette with a stove, sink, and mini fridge. Bed is a simple futon-style bed and comfortable. Visitors will likely share a (very) small bathroom with tenants in next door room. Overall the location is extremely convenient. The room was tidy and neat and we were able to catch our flight out of Keflavik without a problem. I would recommend to anyone who just needs a modest place to sleep.
The room is ok for one night transit stay. it has all the basic things one may need. Unfortunately we did not really meet the hosts because we literally just slept, showered and went off. We arrived late and were very tired and discovered that we ourselves had to make the sofa into a bed and put the bedsheets etc. Then one is asked to clean the floor etc. So have in mind that it is not the usual hotel-like experience! Something we appreciated a lot was that one does not really need to make an appointment with the owners to be able to enter the flat. This is really convenient if you are arriving late or you don't know when you are going to arrive, and do not want to trouble the owners. Overall, good for a short stay!
Even though we didn't meet the host, they left a message and a key on the agreed place. It's a small, bud nice place. I'd probably not recommend it for an extended stay, but for one night is a great value.
This was a fine place to spend the night after our evening arrival at Keflavik. Check-in was DIY and we had no trouble following the hosts' emailed instructions. There was plenty of space on the street to park the rental car, and it's a short distance to a grocery, bank, etc. This is practical, budget lodging, nothing fancy or stylish (it has a bit of a second-hand-furnished spare room feel). The owners had crammed an impressive number of amenities into our small room, but it would quickly have felt cramped if we'd lingered there. Like another reviewer, we wished we could have opened the window to lower the temp.
Perfect flybus location especially if arriving at a weird time and you don't want to have to go all the way to Reykjavik. Greta was great and allowed me to drop off my bags at the insane hour of 5 am before I headed out in search of breakfast. She also was kind enough to show me how the front door locks (there's a trick!). Overall myself and a friend stayed 4 nights, I would recommend 2-3 at the most, it started to get cramped for the two of us with one bed but we loved having a kitchen area and fridge so it was a trade-off. Easy to find, easy to figure out the bus to Reykjavik and back. Just be aware that most shops close early - even grocery stores, in Fjordur and Reykjavik. Learned that the hard way past the dinner hour our first night.
This place was fine for the price- you got what you paid for. The location is ok, but not great- keep in mind that it is a full 30 min bus ride from Reykjavik, so you'll need to factor in the extra 1 hour and 800 ISK per person every day you're there- as everything you'll want to do will be in Reykjavik or start from there. The room is fine for a few nights- the bed is a thin fold-down couch- we didn't find it all that comfy, but it was fine for a few nights. Bathroom was clean and there was a washing machine, but only a small area to hang your clothes. You'll have to make your own bed. There is a shopping centre with a small supermarket and food options 5 mins walk away. All in all, good for the price in Iceland.
