The space
Relax at this peaceful oceanfront home on the shores of Newbury Neck. Enjoy unprecedented privacy on 20 acres of woods and blueberry field. Awake each morning to the gentle sounds of the waves lapping at the shore. Relax in the gazebo with a good book or simply enjoy the sights and sounds of nature all around you. The 1000 feet of ocean frontage allows for tranquility not often found this close to Acadia , only 45 minutes away.

We can no longer offer kayaks or canoes, however The Activity Shop in Blue Hill will deliver them.


Esther's Room is named for my Great-Grandmother Esther Kettel who purchased the property in 1928, against the advice of all of her family. Thanks to her we are able to share and enjoy 20 acres with 1,000 ft of shore facing MDI.

Wave Walker is located near the end of Newbury Neck, which is "off the beaten path" just a bit, but with the location come some wonderful benefits you won’t get at a typical location. Wave Walker offers an experience that is about nature, peacefulness and beauty. Yes, we are away from the din of Bar Harbor. You won’t see any city lights or street lights here. You won’t have a view of the parking lot and building just feet from your window. You will see and hear porpoise and seals from you private balcony overlooking the ocean. You will see what Downeast Magazine called the “Best Acadia View”. You will see “The Milky Way” on a clear night. You may decide to spend the day enjoying nature in one of our kayaks. You may decide to take a walk on the shore just 75 feet in front of the house. If the action of Bar Harbor is your preference then you can be there in 50 minutes. If shopping, restaurants, and other activities are your interest then you can be there in 25 minutes.
Yes, we are not your typical location, but that is what makes Wave Walker special.
