The Space

Location! Location! Location!

A beautiful blue & cozy private bedroom within a 5 bedroom, 1,350 sqft. open loft space located in the exciting Los Angeles Downtown Arts District! The bedroom is approximately 7'x14'. It is equipped with a queen size bed, dresser, table & full length mirror.

There is a bathroom, kitchen, as well as a large creative space shared by all. The building has a secure entrance, elevator and laundry on-site (complete with a handy dandy change machine). We will provide fresh towels, sheets & basic toiletries

The neighborhood & building are *truly* vibrant and unique. In fact, our building is even featured on the hit television show "The New Girl". Neat, huh? We are conveniently located minutes away from the Southern California Institute of Architecture, Metro Gold Line, Little Tokyo, Fashion District, China Town, Union Station, Olvera Street, The Walt Disney Concert Hall, Local/Farmers Markets, Angel City Brewery, Wurstküche (Yum!), Novel Cafe, The Museum of Contemporary Art and much more. Additionally, we suggest typing in the words: "Downtown Los Angeles Arts District" in your favorite search engine for a better understanding of the demographics, neighborhood and happenings. You'll be surprised with just how many of your questions will be answered with only a few clicks!

Parking is ample. I suggest that you always read the street signs (of course), as certain spots are valid anywhere from 2-72 hours.

  • Amanda was an awesome host and her loft is really cool and in a really great location of downtown LA in the Arts District. The room mates were all really lovely and I had a great stay here. Amanda accommodated me with everything I needed and even showed me where the little tokyo market was to do my shopping! I would definitely recommend Amanda's place to stay to anyone who is thinking of visiting L.A. It was a real pleasure and I hope to visit again :)

  • It's 2nd time for me to stay the room. Even thought I'm just a traveler in LA, I felt so welcome and "Ah, I'm home".
The room was comfy and totally chill, that's all I need my place to sleep. The housemates were cool, too! I was inspired by comversation with them.
Many thanks and thanks to Amanda!

  • Amanda was a really awesome host: really nice in the LA way, offered to pick me up some cereal when I asked if the common kitchen cereals were free for all or BYO, and the place is super conveniently located to DTLA. The arts district is really kitchy and cool with murals all over the place.

I love the global "hostel" feeling of this loft which is split up into color themed rooms. You'll love it too.

The only bummer for me was the heat when I went in August this year - it was 95+ degrees outside, and as you know, a concrete warehouse loft is like a huge brick kiln in those conditions. But Amanda picked up the slack by providing me an extra fan. As long as the weather in LA is under 95, you'll be perfectly alright here! If not, just keep the fans hummin' and you'll be okay.

Great spot. I'd come back here! --review written 10/15/13.

  • Had a good 2 month stay. Amanda is wonderful; couldn't ask for a better owner. Great location, too; you can roll out of bed and be in a full slate of great restaurants, a cool places to check out - Little Tokyo is down the street.

If you don't mind not having AC in a loft space - it's one of the most welcoming spots you could find in LA.

  • Amanda was a great host! I had a good time during my stay and it was close to my work! There is a lot to do in the neighborhood and it is safe and quiet!

  • I've had a wonderful time when I was in LA. This is first time for me to use the airbnb, so honestly saying, I had a bit worry about to use it. But now I know such worries proved to be groundless. For me, this place is a kind of ideal one. It meets all my requests; in the Art District, having parking place, good eating spots, quiet street and naghborhood, etc. I could save my limited time in LA for the location. And more, I could have a lot of good encounters with locals! More that that, Amanda, I'm so glad to meet you. Your hospitality made me "I love LA". When I come to LA next time, I will come to meet you and stay here definitely (^_^)/

  • Amanda was polite, hospitable, and very helpful with getting my dozens of questions answered (this was my first Airbnb experience). The space was perfect for what I needed (easy to come and go, ample parking, tolerant of my crazy work hours, and walkable to good spots). The rooms of her place are more like walled partitions, which definitely let sound travel (so not ideal if you're a light sleeper, but I'm not, so I had zero problems), but the other guests were very courteous about staying quiet for early morning and late evening hours, and respect for privacy was never a question. Overall a great stay, and I would come back in a heartbeat.

  • This is a great space for someone who plans on getting out. Lots of great food in the area and not a far walk from the Gold line. Amanda was extremely pleasant. The room was cozy and the noise level low. I would stay here again.
