This charming 2-bedroom cottage sits in a very quiet spot, in a location very convenient to all of the great things there are to do in the Portland area. A kitchen allows you to cook, or you can walk to numerous restaurants and stores.
Two bedroom guest cottage on our property, with full kitchen, living room, dining area and private backyard. Pine paneling on the walls. Very private and quiet setting, with babbling brook behind. Listen to the birds sing and the owls hooting (quietly).
Lovely, treed (and extremely safe) neighborhood offers walking access to coffee shops, grocery store, restaurants, and more. Twelve minutes into downtown Portland by car. Public bus also available. Visit Mt. Hood, the Columbia Gorge, Wine Country, the Oregon Coast, or (website hidden). Helens--all from your home base. Close to Lewis & Clark College and Reed College as well.
Owner speaks German, French and Spanish and loves to chat with guests. Free travel and sightseeing advice too! And probably some warm cookies....
Queen bed in master bedroom, two twin beds in second bedroom. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, oven. Bathroom has tub/shower. Has a great rope swing! Games and some toys also available.
900 square feet.
We have a dog but he does not have access to the cottage area. The cat is not ever in the home.
Parking available for one car.
No smoking allowed anywhere, please.
I love to meet and greet my guests and make sure they know of all the great things there are to do in the area. I speak several languages (German, Spanish, French).
A very green, quiet residential neighborhood that is close to downtown Portland (by car or bus) and has plenty of things within walking distance as well.
Close to freeways, and there is a bus system as well. Walking is great in this neighborhood, and there are wilderness trails very close as well.

I was looking for something with privacy and a kitchen where I could do my own cooking. The cottage was great - I slept well and everything was just like it looked in the pictures or nicer. The wifi was fast and everything worked, there was even a washer and dryer. Definitely a place I will come back to!
We recently rented the Cottage on the Creek for a vacation. The cottage was ideal for our family (2 young children and an infant). The kitchen was very serviceable and we cooked several meals at the cottage. There was plenty of space for kids to play and explore (indoors and out), and there was an added bonus of a cupboard filled with games and toys.
There was plenty to do in Lake Oswego (I recommend George Rogers Park), and we also took day trips to Mt Hood, Hood River, and Portland.
Overall, we had a great experience. The cottage was very clean and convenient. I highly recommend the Cottage on the Creek.
Despite the worst snow storm in several years in PDX, we were able to have a nice stay thanks to Nora and Kevin's hospitality. They worked extra hard to accommodate my infant son for a crib and a bed rail for my 2 year-old daughter. Also, they also let us use their boots so our feet would stay nice and dry. Thank you!
We stayed here with four people; one couple and two singles, and it was the perfect size. It was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed as far as cooking and cleaning; including laundry and toiletries. The only thing I'd like to warn people about are the stairs. My mother, who uses a cane, struggled because there was no railing. This is only a negative for people who struggle with stairs, like the elderly or people in wheelchairs. Aside from that, it was beautiful and peaceful and the owners are friendly and helpful. We will most likely be staying here again in the future.
Nora and Kevin are the best hosts ever! They go above and beyond what you normally expect from your hosts. The cottage on the creek is beautifully locate and so quiet....We will definitely come here again!
Nora was extremely accomodating, the setting was beautiful. We had a very nice time.
I would highly recommend staying at the Cottage by the Creek. Nora and Kevin were extremely accommodating and were so helpful in making a last minute trip to Portland work for my family. The cottage was clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed our time there.
We stayed at Cottage on the Creek for a full month at the end of 2012, using it as a base for visiting (and hosting) our children and grandchildren residing in nearby towns. It's a no-frills place but we were more than satisfied with the accommodations in every respect (especially the spacious master bedroom with comfortable queen bed). The cottage is ultra-cozy within a natural setting that is pure Oregon, offering a lot of privacy in a very safe neighborhood; and it is in a great location close to urban services, yet with parks and trails nearby in every direction. And the landlords, Nora and Kevin, are as cordial as the cabin is comfy. They were most anxious to help make our stay enjoyable and very open to a couple of suggestions we made for (very minor) improvement. All in all, we had a very successful stay on Twin Fir Lane and would recommend the cottage to others without hesitation or qualification.
We enjoyed our stay in this cozy and quaint cottage nestled in a sweet canopy of trees. Private, quiet with all of the comforts of home and easy access to I-5, we recommend staying here. Nora and her family were gracious, accommodating and helpful with great restaurant recommendations! Eat at Gubanc's and La Provence...you won't
We stayed in the cottage for 10 days in the middle of October. My wife and I were visiting Portland for the birth of our latest granddaughter.
The location was excellent with easy access to downtown and close access to Tigard where our granddaughter now lives. The neighborhood was very quaint and the cottage setting was peaceful and secluded.
The accommodations were just what we were looking for. We stayed in the main bedroom and were well rested for our outings visiting our granddaughter every day. We used the kitchen for breakfast most mornings and cooked a meal once to take to the hospital the second night we were there. We spent most mornings and late evenings in the living room. We had no need to use the 2nd bedroom, but it was nice as well.
