My place is "Very Bristol!"Brilliantly designed, great sense of spaciousness and lightness. The quirky loft space is like sleeping in your own personal tower and the sense of height is enhanced when you exit onto the roof terrace. Friendly area.
My home is the top flat of the top house at the top of the steepest residential street in England, reputedly! In the flat and on the roof terrace the views of Bristol and beyond are immense. The sleeping area is a perfect, small loft full of white linen with a beautiful, bright, light sky view and with a spot to store your everyday things, and space downstairs to store larger items. You will have private access to the roof from your space and I can recommend it for morning coffee, lunch and evening drinks! And any smokers are welcome to indulge whilst admiring the view. The living area downstairs is an open plan kitchen, table and lounge - all with light and bright views of Bristol. And the shared, spacious bathroom includes toilet and a shower over free standing bath. The style of the apartment is vintage beach hut with vertigo inducing views!
You can walk (12mins) from the train station and into town it takes 20 minutes, or a quick bus ride down the hill.Just around the corner is Arnos Vale, a 50 acre cemetery, which is lovely for a walk, is vibrant and full of wildlife or a guided walk.
There is an excellent cafe, Moroccan restaurant and local amenities close by and Totterdown is a very friendly and picturesque neighrbourhood. The first Bristol Arts Trail was started in Totterdown so the area is very creative and vibrant. My local, The Oxford, is a brilliant local music venue which it combines with knitting, darts and poker nights! My other local is The Shakespeare, which has great live music and quiz nights. My other, other, local is The Star and Dove, famous for its 15th-18th century menu, extensive wine list and its scotch eggs. Its next to the brilliant Victoria park, so combining the two makes for a great evening.
Included in your stay is towels, fresh linen, tea, coffee, basic breakfast, wireless internet and easy parking. If you wish to use the kitchen, let me know and I will show you the ropes and for those staying for longer there is cupboard space for supplies.
Also included is a friendly, well-trained, stick obsessed Collie/Whippet so dog/stick lovers most welcome! My son and my prop maker girlfriend are also here from time to time.
As a relative newcomer to Bristol I can pass on tips of places and areas that will delight. I love travelling and look forward to vicariously doing that by you visiting! Its super easy to walk to the train station and catch a bus to the airport in an hour, then you can go anywhere! The bus stop at the bottom of the stairs will get you into town v quick. The high location and bespoke interior decor really make this space a classic bnb experience!
A private roof terrace.
Open plan living area.
The unusual bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
I plan to, and enjoy to, interact with you all-life willing.
Bristol is amazing, there is so much to experience and enjoy! Totterdown is a brilliant mix of, 3 of the best pubs and places to eat, green spaces and quiet but walkable distance into Bristol central life. I love getting the ferry from Temple Meads to the SS Great Britain and then wandering round town. Stokes Croft for grafitti, Gloucester Road for veg and vintage, Park Street for cafes and the Harbourside for people watching. The Tobacco Factory and The Old Vic theatres have excellent original plays while The Hippodrome attracts major London shows-loved Cats!
Normally, there are festivals, celebrations, free music and very friendly people who love to chat.
And of course, there's cider and circus!
There is a bus into town from the bottom of my street and also from the main road. There is also a sweet local train line that runs from Temple Meads to destinations around the city
Hi all, the main house rule is respect, followed by relaxed. If there is a mess you made then tidy it up and all will be fine. Any major damage must be paid for. Only invited guests can be brought back to the flat. You will have the walk of the flat but I ask for reasonable quiet after 11pm,
Helen and her place are really*100 unique and artistic!!! I love~ love~ and love this place!! It is top of the hill, so you can see everything in Bristol below your feet as photographs. It is little far from the city center, but you can have amazing the very ninght in Helen's place. If I have one more chance to visit Bristol, I definitely choose Helen's airbnb.
Lovely place to stay short term, Helen was very welcoming and made me feel at home
Helen was very welcoming and the flat was perfect for our requirements. Next time we are visiting friends in Bristol we shall stay here.
We had a great stay at Helen's flat last week. We were attending a wedding and, even though she was not there at the time, Helen was super-helpful in arranging for us to get into the property early so we could get ready, so thank you! She's a friendly host and we were made to feel very welcome. It's a small room but very comfortable, and the roof terrace is great!
We had a little bit of a problem finding the house but that was our fault entirely. We approached it from the wrong side. Once we arrived we felt immediately welcome and were given a lovely cup of tea and chatted for a while and got some tips on how to get into Bristol and what to do there.
It is a lovely flat with a nice feel to it and the 'space' small but very cosy has an amazing view and a roof terrace which we sadly, due to the wet and windy weather, didn't even venture out on. Very comfortable bed. Perfect for a short stay in Bristol and easy to reach the centre by foot or bus.
Had a lovely short stay at Helens, fab veiw, great quirky little house, Helen had some friends over and they were all lovely. Very welcoming.

I love to travel and I love being settled in the great city of Bristol. I recently changed careers from organic farmer to horticultural therapist, designing vegetable production areas for adults with learning difficulties and supporting them to have beneficial and positive experiences in the outdoors. I am very happy with the change of emphasis in my work life but my dog, Tui, although aged 13, is less keen as she has to stay home and can only dream of her previous life romping around a 50 acre farm! My son Jake stays with me on a Friday night and Saturdays generally involve lego and, well, lego. We also go to the SS great Britain and the zoo, alot. You may also catch a passing glimpse of my girlfriend who visits at the weekend from her course at RADA. We love our local(s) and the relaxed Bristol scene, of which there is everything to meet all requirements, within a totally palatable distance. I love the old man ale pubs with jazz on a Sunday afternoon and the circus scene and how many people cycle in the city and ALOT of other things about Bristol, which I will happily enthuse with you about. I am a relaxed host.
