Apartment - Private room · Melrose St, Brooklyn, NY 11237, United States

The Space

This lovely two bedroom apartment is newly renovated, with hard wood floors, tiled bathroom, new kitchen appliances including dishwasher. The apartment is spacious, clean and comfortable. It is perfect for cooking and enjoying an evening in, or just getting ready to go out. The kitchen is modern, and large equipped with all necessities. Local coffee is available to brew and french press, along with fresh homemade granola with your choice of milk for the mornings.

The room is equipped with heating, and is right next to the large living area with a comfortable leather sofa. The room has a new comfortable queen sized bed, vanity mirror, and exposed brick wall. The room has space for luggage and to hang clothing. Plus free wifi is available. The bathroom is clean and modern with a tub with enough for two to bathe.

Bushwick is an up and coming residential neighborhood, and the apartment is located only three blocks from the Morgan stop on the L line, which is 15 minutes by train to Manhattan and 10 minutes to Williamsburg full of shops, and restaurants. The apartment is also with in walking distance of the JMZ line for access to different parts of Manhattan.
Brooklyn Naturals grocery store, Big Tree Bottles wine store, Narrow's Bar, Momo's fresh sushi and the famous Roberta's Pizzeria are all with in three blocks, along with other bars and cafe spots to go out.

Also my personal favorite; access to the roof top for an amazing view of Manhattan.

  • Ginger's apartment was great, very central, close to subway, very clean and welcoming. We had a great stay with another young couple, very happy customers :)

  • Our stay was ok. We liked the location a lot and there are lots of murals and graffiti to be seen in the area. Very close to the metro and no need to transfer to get to Manhattan. Our first impression wasn't that great as we arrived to a stuffy apartment that hadn't been cleaned or arranged since Ginger had been on vacation (seeing that as a recurring theme now that I'm reading the other reviews more). We left our bags and by the time we came back it had been cleaned, but definitely is not a bright space as in the photos. The bedding seemed like it had been washed, but had a musty smell to it like it had been sitting for a long time. Not very nice. It wasn't clear from the description, but we ended up sharing the flat with other Airbnb guests. It would have been nice to know that since they ended up being disruptive (arguing and screaming at 4 or 5 am), but we were flexible. As for the room itself, it has ample storage space and hangers for your clothing. There are two windows, but one of them does not have a shade or blinds so it is kind of awkward to change in there. The windows are also quite drafty so we were cold some nights (Dec). We didn't find any breakfast that was described except some used milk. In the end we just used the space to sleep, and it was sufficient enough for that. Ginger was available for any concerns and was great at communicating.

  • Great place and nice location. The apartment is really clean and fully furnished with every thing that you need for a short or a long stay. Ginger is kind, we also had a very sweet roommate. Would definitely recommend this place !

  • The place was nice but there were several issues. The biggest issue was checking in. It was pouring rain and we were supposed to meet her at 11. But she was 40 minutes late. We were walking with our heavy luggage in the rain! And we had to wait outside in the rain until finally someone opened the entrance door, so we waited for her inside. When she finally arrived, she barely even noticed that we were soaking wet because she was late. We were surprised how nice the apartment was. So we give positive reviews for that! But... the rain kept coming down and started coming from the ceiling during the night. We contacted and sent pictures to Ginger but she only said there was nothing she could do and she didn't even come to see it. We had to put jars on the floor because the dripping water. Everything else was good. The location was close enough to the subway and nearby a supermarket.

  • i loved this apartment. ginger made arrangements for me to pick up the key at a convenient nearby location when my flight ended up being delayed. when i arrived, i was more than happy to step into a clean space with high ceilings, comfy bed, great windows, amazing water pressure, awesome kitchen to cook in and closet space galore.
the location was perfect for getting groceries, coffee, shopping, and getting to manhattan in 15 minutes.
ginger was extremely communicative, accommodating and helpful.
i would definitely stay here again.

  • Only spent a short while. Comfortable.

  • The apartment was warm, clean, quiet and very convenient to the subway. I really liked the neighborhood, as it has that interesting mix of working warehouses, tacquerias, coffee houses, and lovely little restaurants. Although the neighborhood is a bit dirty looking with trash bins blowing garbage around, I never once felt unsafe walking the 7 minutes from the subway to the apartment. I had a very relaxing time because of the comfort I enjoyed in Ginger's apartment.
