THE LOCAL AREA
THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE LONDON AT ITS BEST!!!
OXFORD STREET, the premier shopping street in Europe is under a mile(1km) walk from the apartment. It is one and a half miles(2km) from end to end and is a shoppers paradise. Most shops open 10am until 6 or 7pm. Many also open on Sunday from 12 to 6pm with late nights on Thursday. Oxford Street is best known for Selfridges and the other big department stores which are all found in the section from Marble Arch to Oxford Circus, along with most of the big-name multinationals such as Nike, Primark, Topshop, Apple, etc. It's more of the same towards Tottenham Court Road, but generally on a smaller scale. Oxford Street is said to be the busiest shopping street in Europe.
The section of Edgware Road near to Marble Arch is famous for its distinctive Middle-Eastern character. Lebanese restaurants, shisha cafes and clubs line both sides of the road, with some staying open late into the night. Marble Arch station is a few minutes walk from the southern end of Edgware Road.
Just a short step away from the tourist hordes, the apartment still has the feel of a real neighbourhood, the wealthy residents are becoming ever more attractive as Harley Street, the traditional home of England's best doctors, has recently become the heart of the UK's flourishing plastic surgery industry.
The beautiful architecture (the Wallace Collection is a must) and the open spaces of Regent's Park and Hyde Park make this a fine area to have a wander, when the sun's out there are fewer places in London as scenic and special as Hyde Park.
While Marylebone High Street is absolutely charming, lined with traditional pubs, beautiful boutiques and shops (including the flagship Daunt Books) and excellent local restaurants as well as an impressive mix of hotels - and a farmer's market every Saturday.
A short walk from Marylebone is the home of the most famous fictional detective in the world 'Sherlock Holmes' bachelor flat at 221B Baker Street and the popular waxworks at Madame Tussauds.

Great location and very easy instructions to follow. It is small but very clean and the bedroom is comfortable.
perfect! small but charming apartment on the ground floor. very close to the tube station. recommended.
Great location.. Walking distance to Oxford street and tubes.. Decent value for money. Very clean and warm. Quite noisy upstairs with young kids walking about at 8 am but if you don't want a lie in its a great place to stay! The host was also very quick to reply to messages and very easy to deal with.
Lovely place to stay in the heart of London, very convenient location, and the apartment is in good nick! Only niggle was that temperature control could only be managed by the thermostat in the bedroom, the radiator in the living room was either boiling or off.
This place is especially great for people with walking difficulties: while the apartment isn't explicitly disabled-proof, it is small enough to get around easily, and the bathroom is connected directly to the bedroom. Ample space for a fold-up wheelchair, and only 1 step to get into the building.
Carrie is very helpful and I'd definitively would stay there again!
The location is really great- close to underground and shops, just as described by Carrie. We loved our stay there , although the flat is - in my opinion- too small for 4 adults (2 parents and 2 big children). We had problems with comfortable location of our big suitcases and moving around freely.
We were 2 adults + 2 children staying in this apt. and although it would be more comfortable for a couple sharing, it was perfectly fine for us. Simple, clean and functional. Excellent central location (but still quiet) and good value for London. We are happy with our choice!
I booked this apartment for my family visiting London for 3 days and they only had good things to say. Nice apartment and fantastic location.
thanks for you and your place,we have a wonderful travel and memories!~
hope we will back soon~!
I've been doing business in London for many years, and this was one of the best experiences I've had. The apartment was great -- and the location was absolutely perfect. It was a great neighborhood, and Carrie was very responsive and helpful, even helping me with an extra night when I got held over for another meeting.
We booked the apartment for 3 nights. It was confortable and well situated near the underground.
To enter into the apartment, the keys were in a master lock safe. Nobody was there to welcome us and consequently there was no inspection and inventory of fixtures and fittings carried out in our presence on the day of our arrival and the day of our departure.
Unfortunately, we had 2 major problems:
- the shower did not work properly and we could not use it the first evening or the following morning.
- we also had to deal with a leak in the living-room during the first night. The floor and our bed were completely soaked !
We immediately called Airbnb to deal with the issue.
Somebody told us that a plumber would come the day after but when we came back in the evening nothing had been done. We had to make numerous phone calls and really insist that the issue be dealt with before getting a response. A cleaning lady came to change the sheets of our bed but the issue with the leak was not resolved.
In the end, a man came to have a look at the shower. He did not repair it but explained to us a way to run water in spite of the issue!
Finally a plumber came on the last morning but we were leaving London an hour after his visit.
We did not have much luck with regards to the above because everything else was perfect.
I'm very sorry about your experience. It was unfortunate that your stay happened to be at the London big freeze. Pipes can get burst due to the freeze. My team and I were trying to to fix the problem as soon as possible, but it was very difficult to get a call out from engineer that weekend because of the snow. My sincereliest apology to you and your family. Btw, the problems at the apartment have been resolved.
Your willingness to share your experience is genuinely appreciated. I hope you will allow us the opportunity to serve your future travel needs, as we would like the opportunity to provide you the level of service you expect from us.
