Xavi & Cris and their team are well organized, always available via email and phone and very friendly. The apartment was perfectly situated for our desires. It is a perfect place for groups travelling to Barcelona. There are lots of sleeping facilities in the house. Be aware though, that just one bedroom has a window and that it can become really hot in summer. The apartment itself is also quite a bit smaller, than it seems on the pics, but the balcony has a pretty decent size and let´s be honest! You wanna see Barcelona and not stay in an apartment all day, right ;)
We never met the host during our stay, instead their staff met with us and the way they handle check in and check out was pretty organized. The staff was knowledgeable of good tourist attractions and provided useful information.
This apartment is very spacious, clean and fit 6 of us comfortably.
Unfortunately, as soon as we checked in and tried the wi-fi, we
discovered the wi-fi was not working. It took one full day for someone to come to fix it. During our stay (4 days 3 nights), the internet never really worked. This has caused great inconvenience for us as we relied on internet for research our trip and make other bookings as well. One of our travel buddies required the internet to complete tasks from work back home, so it caused quite a bit of stress and inconvenience to locate wi-fi while we are out.
Secondly, the apartment only provided us with 1 roll of toilet tissue paper. There was no dish washing detergent for us to use either. We had to spend extra time and money to take care of these necessities.
Overall, our experience with this apartment would have been
better if the host could have AT LEAST ensured wi-fi was working prior to our arrival, as this was part of the agreement/posting on AirBNB.
9 people staying there. That was convenient. We missed 1 bathroom though. Location is great, right accross Ticket (New restaurant the El Bully dude). 9 ppl in there didnt feel overcrowded. Location is good not super central but not far away (metro poble sec less than 300m). Easy check in and check out.
Clara could not have been more accommodating and helpful in getting us situated. We were late arriving from the airport, and sans cell phone, had no way to alert her that we would be missing our arrival appointment by 2 hours. Not only was she there to meet us with a smile, she provided a great deal of advice about where to go and what to do, including the restaurant Lolita, which was one of the best dining experiences of our entire trip (its only 2 blocks away...also try Gin Joint, right across the street.) The place is huge! Clara asked my girlfriend and I when our friends were arriving ( we did not realize it slept 10 ppl!) The kitchen is small, so don't expect to cook a large meal, and the bedrooms and beds are all small and not particularly comfortable. However, the large balcony will make you forget any of the shortcomings inside. And the location is IDEAL if you want to enjoy a neighborhood and get away from the touristy aspects of Barcelona. The nonstop shuttle bus to the airport picks up 2 blocks away, and the restuarant/bar scene is outstanding. STAY HERE! Its cheap, even when there are only 2 of you instead of 10. Clara is a great host. Highly recommended!
Six of us stayed at the apartment for 4 nights and overall had a good experience. It is well located for the Airport bus and for the Barcelona Sants train station in an impressive old building and is pleasant and very generously sized - we actually had a spare bedroom to stow our luggage. The small terrace is lovely for sitting out in the evening.
We never met the owner but dealt with various of their 'agents' so the rental lacks any personal touch in that regard. Although we arrived at the agreed time we had to wait 30 minutes or so until we we admitted to the apartment. In fairness the lady who did meet us recommended a great restaurant for traditional cuisine that we would never have otherwise found.
The apartment is well appointed although the one blanket per bed seemed a little on the frugal side (maybe it was our bad luck to arrive during unseasonably chilly weather). Likewise the old bath towel supplied left me covered in yellow fluff each day after my shower. Some of the dishes needed to be washed before they were fit for use - we soon decided to adopt a policy of washing all of them before use - but the apartment was otherwise clean and tidy. I would rent this apartment again and would recommend it as comfortable, convenient and well worth the asking rental price.
