We had a great time. Easy to check in and out. Beautiful location. The place was as advertised, clean, spacious and comfortable. Would stay there again.
The bedroom is large and the view is good that the house faces the river view. And also near food mart.
JoAnn and Kat made me feel very welcome in this upstairs condo that is on the water. Across the road is a very small marina and the neighborhood is mostly quiet. The unit looks just like the photos. The room is large, the bed very comfortable and the warming mattress pad feels great after a long drive. The room has a small refrigerator/freezer, TV, very nice bathroom and view of water and boats. Parking is in the driveway. JoAnn and Kat basically go about their work day and interaction with them is brief yet very pleasant.
We stayed 4 nights with JoAnn at her beautiful home in April. The large room with private bath was everything we hoped for. The room was large, comfortable, clean and quiet. She has a small dog and she did "welcome" us when we came and went but never bothered us with any yapping. She had very good manners. The deck overlooking the water was a perfect way to begin and end our day. JoAnn and her daughter were delightful ladies. We had all the privacy we would want blended with just the right amount of interaction with our hosts. The kitchen was large and lovely and, although we didn't use it, looked like a great area to cook in. The bed was great, so great in fact I came home knowing I need to buy a new one, I slept so well. And last but not least, JoAnn had a wonderful assortment of shampoos, conditioners, soaps and even toothpaste for those of us who are forgetful and beautiful flowers in our room when we arrived. I have nothing but great things to say about our time in San Rafael and our host.
JoAnn provided a warm welcome to her very comfortable and convenient place by the marina in San Rafael. Nice bed and shower and view.
Easy parking, and easy access to the 101.
Recommend breakfast and lunch at Sol Foods, a short drive away.
Good grocery store -- Andy's Market, also a short drive away.
JoAnn is a wonderful hostess. She and her roommate Kat were always helpful and friendly, but also very respectful of our privacy and space. The room and private bath gave us plenty of space and the king bed is very comfortable. There is a very nice view of the boat harbor just across the road from the bedroom window. JoAnn's house is conveniently located near the 101 freeway and central San Rafael, however we heard zero traffic noise in our room with the window closed. Her deck overlooks the San Rafael canal and has a direct view of Mt. Tamalpais. It's a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. For avid TV viewers (we aren't), it should be mentioned that the TV in the bedroom is an older model which operates on an antenna providing limited channel selection. JoAnn's little dog, Oona, is very cute but she does consider it her duty to bark whenever someone comes to the front door. Overall, in beautiful but pricey Marin, JoAnn offers her guests a great deal. My wife and I certainly enjoyed our week-long visit and look forward to staying with JoAnn and Kat again on future trips to Marin.
