  • We have had a wonderful stay in Amal's apartment. It is really well situated, well equipped and beautifully furnished. The Majorelle Gardens are just across the road, but the apartment is set back away from the thoroughfares and was very quiet. Two supermarkets and a fruit market are an easy walk from the flat and there is a taxi rank at the end of the road, making getting around really easy. We quickly learned to ask how many dirhams it would cost to go anywhere before we got into the taxis and found it a reasonable way to get about. There are some lovely cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood, for when we did not feel like cooking. The two balconies are a boon - the south-facing one is fully enclosed and a cosy place to sit and read, while you can watch the world passing below you from the open, north-facing one. The lift was totally reliable and there is a ramp as well as steps to enter the courtyard garden from the road entrance in order to access the apartment block or the swimming pool. Amal's parent's were very helpful and friendly and made us feel extremely welcome. The apartment is modern but furnished in a traditional style with a contemporary twist - very stylish. There was ample hot water for our needs, and in March we needed neither the heating nor air conditioning. Everything was beautifully clean and tidy, a real home from home. The small taxi back to the airport cost us 100 MAD - this can vary according to the time of day. I would not hesitate to return to this lovely apartment, and wholeheartedly recommend it to our friends. Marrakech can be both a delight and a crazy city - this is the perfect refuge when it is the latter: visit Jemal al F'na in the evening, then revel in the peace and serenity here above Rue St Laurent!

  • Good flat in a nice location. The flat is in a nice block. It's quite plush. Once we had the keys we had no problems. When we left we left the keys in the flat and closed the door.

The flat is a 1 minute walk from the Jardin Yves Saint Lauren. You shouldn't be paying more than 100MAD to get from the airport. We paid 20 euros and only realised afterwards how much of a rip of it was.

Make sure you have the contact numbers for whoever is meeting you with the key as there was some confusion with the security guard when we arrived.

  • Amal's parents met us with the key when we arrived. The place was as nice as the photos depicted. There was great airconditioning and we needed it as the temp exceeded 100 for several days. The only small problem was fixed within the hour and Amal's parents were very kind.

  • Unfortunately the flat was not cleaned up and was not smelling very good. The Curtains of the open terasse which should protect from sun and rain were dirty and could not be removed. As the first nights were cold we needed a blanket, but the blankets were in very badly smelling . The WiFi was not functioning at 8 of 10 days until it was newly configurated by a employee of Maroc Telecom. As the person who had the keys didn't feel responsible we had to contact Amals mother in Casablanca who sent someone to clean up and we got a new blanket - for two of us three. persons. Amals mother offered her excuses and came on this purpose from Casablanca to Marrakesh.

  • This apartment worked perfectly for us. We have been to Morocco before and always stayed in riads. For a first trip or a short one, I would say that the unique charm of a riad would be hard to pass up. But, when traveling as a family (with my daughter and mother in law) or for a longer period of time, an apartment makes much more sense. And, this one was great. Fantastic location, fully equipped, lovely. We will return one day. Thank you for making my first airbnb experience a good one!

  • Great place and location, very close to a supermarket, and easy to reach most attractions and sightseeing's.

  • Everything went perfectly smooth, I had been in touch by email (quick reply) and phone (with Amal´s sister and Noufissa, Amal´s Mom), and Lahsen (their assistant) was there right on time to meet and greet, show us the apartment, and left us a phone number if we needed anything. Amal and her sister live in Nice and Noufissa in Casablanca. The apt was wonderful, Sat TV, and 3G data stick for Intenet was waiting for us, terraces on both ends, great security, pool, washing machine, expresso coffee maker, cats all around, Heaven. 10 minute walk to the Medina, shops and cafes all around, Ville Nouvelle up the road, perfect location right across the street from Majorelle Gardens, must see! Try the Pause Gourmande restaurant just outside the entrance to the apts, excellent!! Then, the last day we stored our luggage after check out, Noufissa and Lahrabi (Dad), came from Casablanca, loaded with pastries, we all had a mint tea and they took us to the train station. They were staying in the apt that night, it´s their second home in Morocco, for them, friends and family, we were their first Airbnb guests!! Lovely, very classy people, made us feel we have new friends in Morocco
