Thanks for looking at our house situated in an Estate in a village setting - quiet and rural - yet close to some of the most interesting historical and cultural venues in Ireland as well as having excellent transport links close by.
The house is a modern, very comfortable and homely Dormer Bungalow with all modern conveniences.
The Guest Room is a comfortable size with good light and plenty of storage space. Guests have the use of the main bathroom - which is very spacious, bright and airy. It contains a Bath, Shower, Hand-basin and Toilet Bowl. Towels are supplied.
In Winter there is Central Heating but also an electric heater for occasional use when needed in any Season. Air Conditioning is not an issue in Ireland but cool/hot fans are available if required.
Guests are supplied with a 'basic breakfast' - juices, cereal, bread+ jams, tea/coffee. A 'Full Irish Breakfast' can be supplied - it needs to be requested at time of Booking and costs extra. Guests can, of course, supply their own foods and use of the Kitchen is allowed. Guests can use the Refrigerator/Freezer and Dishwasher. Where necessary the Washing Machine and the Clothes Dryer are available.
Guests should feel at home and can enjoy the study, patio or garden to relax in - just like our house pets do: we have cats and dogs -just to remind us that life is not all about work...
Our Estate is situated in a small village which has a shop, hairdresser, pub, restaurant and take-away. There is the usual Church( R.C. ), National School and Community Centre. Local sporting interests include Gaelic Games, Soccer and Cycling.
What makes our village unique is its situation to the most historic sites in Ireland - Newgrange and the Battle-of-the-Boyne - both sitting along the famous River Boyne. These great tourist attractions are only a two-minute drive from the Village. Of course there are other interesting Historical and Cultural sites close-by including the towns of Drogheda, Slane, Navan and Trim with the great attraction of Tara in the middle of these. There are also the historical remains of Christian heritage at Monasterboice and Mountmellick.
Along with all of this history and culture is the vibrant modernity of bustling Drogheda only 3 kilometres away...with all the modern attractions/facilities of shopping, eating-out and entertainment for all ages. Just out of Drogheda is the beautiful, beachy shoreline of Meath at Mornington, Bettystown and Laytown.
Drogheda is also a transport hub with Rail and Bus Stations linking it to the rest of the country -especially Dublin and Belfast Cities. There is also the M1 Motorway allowing fast access to both Dublin( 40 mins. ) and Belfast( 60 mins.) and linking with the M50 motorway allowing quick access to South and West of the country. Dublin Airport is only a 20 mins. drive down the M1.
So, you can find the heartbeat of Modern Ireland in Dublin and its other cities but you will find the soul of Ancient Ireland along the Boyne.

We had a wonderful experience staying with Patrick! We absolutely recommend booking here. Patrick was a warm and energetic host who made sure our stay was as pleasant as possible.
We drove in to Donore on our last night in Ireland. The house was just off the highway and easy to find. When we arrived in the evening, Patrick had a tea and cakes set up for us in the kitchen. He even told me to sit and rest while he and my husband got our bags from the car! We had such a nice time chatting with Patrick by the fire in the living room. Our room was cozy with the most comfortable bed we found in Ireland. The bathroom was huge with plenty of hot water!
We had to get up very early for our flight, and even so, Patrick made us a delicious breakfast of porridge, fruit, toast, and fresh coffee. It was a lovely last meal in Ireland.
Patrick's house truly was a home to us on our last night in Ireland. Our only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer! Thank you for the great experience, Patrick and family :)
The stay with Patrick was a great first experience with Airbnb. He and his wife were very accommodating. The breakfast was nice to wake up to, and the room was clean and cozy. Patrick was well informed on sites and things to do around the area, and his conversation was truly welcomed!
We highly recommend this accommodation. It was a last minute decision and we were so glad we made it. It's a home away from home. Patrick and Mary were such warm and welcoming hosts. Their house and our bedroom were immaculate and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Patrick and Mary had great tips on the area and recommended a place to eat that night. We had a superb time and enjoyed our chats about travel. Even though we didn't order the famed Irish breakfast that the other comments here talk about as we already had our own supplies, they still provided us with a beautifully laid table at breakfast time. We wouldn't have swapped this experience for anything. Have no hesitation in booking here.
For our first Airbnb experience, it was awesome! Patrick and his wife reserved us a fabulous welcome. They are both very kind and helpfull. The room is very comfortable, quiet and clean, as the bathroom. it's a very good location as a base to visit the Boyne valley, and only 2 minutes from the motorway, so much things to see there, including Newgrange (very close and interesting).
Thank you again Patrick, your typical Irish breakfast was a discovery and very good! We would come back with pleasure!
Hi again Michael+Helene...good to hear from you guys and Thanks for the comments... but our good guests only deserve the 'best'.... Hope you got home safely and are spreading the joy of the Creperie around Brittany again...must catch up with you sometime to sample some of your wares....'til then, CFN.PatW.
Patrick's house was just a one night stop but next time I wish I'll stay longer.
The house is really beautiful, all of the parts of the house are clean, nice and decorated with taste.
Patrick and his wife are very welcoming, you can ask them all of the questions you want.
Patrick made us feel very welcome in his beautiful home.
Although our stay was brief, it was a highlight of our trip.
We couldn't have picked a better place for our first two Nights in ireland! Patrick and Mary are Georgeous, caring and helpful. We highly recommend staying with them because the room was clean and beautiful. You really feel like you're at home. We will come back for our last Nights!
We stayed in Pat's house for five nights. It was our first journey to Ireland and we were very lucky to stay with Pat, because he gave us much information about the history and the present of Ireland. The way to Dublin by car takes about 30 minutes (depends on the traffic), the Irish Sea is nearby. We had two comfortable bedrooms on the first floor and a big bathroom; if we wanted, we could have used his kitchen as well. Pat offered to use his garden behind the house. On demand he provided a traditional irish breakfast. After this various breakfast we should have cut some woods...
Pat has a lot of written information for tourists about everything in the area, what is interesting. The house is near the motorway, so that you can get quickly anywhere, but the house is quite calm; we slept very well.
For the county of Meath and to visit Dublin it is a very good adress; we think, you won't be disappointed, if you book the house of Pat.
Johanna and parents from good old Germany.
Hi Karsten, Ariane and Johanna - glad to see you got back Home safely and Thank You for the nice 'letter' reviewing the rest of your Trip around Ireland - you certainly covered a lot of ground....and Thank You for the nice things you say about your stay with us. It gives us much pleasure to look after nice people and you were great and deserve only the best. I hope to play more Gin Rummy now that I have learned how to play from you... All the best for the rest of the Year; Happy Trails. CFN. PatW.
Patrick and his wife Mary have to be the loveliest couple out there. Their energy and effort make one feel very welcomed. Patrick did his best to get us to great restaurant in Drogheda, even on a very quiet evening. Not to mention the next mornings breakfast...The only setback was we only had one night to spend there, wish there were more, Patrick can talk about Irish history for ages...and we could listen for as long;)
Hospitality of an Irishman, what a pleasure to arrive at Patrick and Mary's after a day of travel. Our stay in Ireland started very well, Patrick gave us a good tourist information and recommended a great restaurant for the evening, thank you again!
Their house is very nice and welcoming, everything was perfect, we had a very good sleep in sheets that smelled laundry.
In addition, the traditional Irish breakfast was wonderful, with sweet music in the dining room,,,.
We'll start with pleasure because it was too short! Thank you to (email hidden)d thanks again for carrying our luggages... :-)
