Whether you're a tourist, someone with work commitments in the area or you need a place to stay while you attend an event, seminar or conference, you can enjoy the comforts of my home in Rippleside.
This home has two spacious, separate, completely self contained living levels - only the ground floor will be available to guests.
The ground floor open plan living/dining/kitchen and main bedroom areas are north facing. Two bedrooms sleep 4 in one king bed and one queen bed or two singles and one queen. There is an en-suite bathroom to the king bedroom. The second bedroom (queen bed) has its own shower room, separate toilet and separate powder room. Home is fully furnished - linen, tea, coffee and breakfast will be provided.
This quiet home, with its north orientation, has a passive solar design to reduce energy consumption. All windows are double glazed and toilets are plumbed to water tanks.
My home is just off Melbourne Road about 3 minutes north of the large regional city of Geelong.
It is located in Rippleside opposite acres public parkland and sports ovals and the historic bluestone Customs House. It is 300 m from the St Helens boat ramp, marina and beach. It is an 8 minute walk to the Rippleside Park, 5 minutes to the North Geelong Station and a stunning 30 minute walk along the esplanade to Geelong's pier, cafes, and Eastern Beach and its park. It is a 5 minutes drive to the Pakington Street eateries, 10 minutes to the Queen's Park Golf Course (new golf course close by will be 3 minutes away in 2014), about 20 minutes from Torquay and less than an hour from the famous Brae Restaurant in Birregurra.
This little known residential pocket is an hour from Melbourne, 20 minutes to the Great Ocean Road, 15 minutes to the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula wine region, eateries and beaches, 25 minutes to the ferry to Sorrento, the Blues Train, an adventure park and 3 minutes from the freeway network which leads to anywhere you would like to go in Australia.
I charge a per person rate with discount for children.
NB I have a second listing for singles which is available for Friday and Saturday nights.
You will have access to your own space downstairs with an open plan living/dining/kitchen area. There are two bedrooms. You will have access to the paved courtyard which is accessed via French doors from the living room.
Parking is free, on street, in front of the house.

Minimum interaction with guests, however, I'm happy to chat if guests wish to find out about this great part of Australia.
Rippleside is a little known pocket on the Melbourne side of Geelong. My home is a short walk to a marina, parks and the coastal walk in to Geelong and the Eastern Beach aquatic recreational precinct. It is minutes from eateries, cinema, theatre, retail outlets and the village atmosphere of Pakington Street. It is at the gateway to the Bellarine Peninsula wineries, olive groves, beaches and ferry across the bay. You can be on the road to the Great Ocean Road in a few minutes in the car or bus - or to the freeway network which can get you to anywhere in Australia.
The Pickers Union Cafe, 3 Mackey Street, is a great place for coffee, breakfast or lunch. It's only 5 minutes walk from my place - next street parallel to Swinburne when travelling north to Melbourne.
Home is 5 minutes walk from North Geelong Station.
Other Things to Note
You can expect to be left alone while you are here so, if you are staying for more than one night, I will not enter the bedrooms or living area downstairs. I will leave enough breakfast provisions for your stay.
You are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare meals but I expect it to be left exactly as it was found.
Please treat me and my home with respect and note that I am sharing my home with you.
I do not include a charge for cleaning so, apart from used linen, I expect it to be left as you found it when you arrived.
Please remove stilettos and hard soled shoes.

It was a lovely stay, beautiful and clean apartment. Nicely maintained courtyard. The antipasto breakfast platter is lovely. Had a bike ride to Rippleside park and Esplanade, which is beautiful. The nespresso machine is a huge plus too
The townhouse was as described and is very new. The place was very comfortable and Jo made the place very homely.

Great experience all the way through, from booking the reservation to departure. The place is and feels brand new, plenty of space, very comfortable, stocked kitchen, snacks in the fridge, nice layout and decor, big windows with lots of light opening to the (website hidden) is so friendly, such a gracious host, I felt completely welcome. Really enjoyed our time staying at the Rippleside townhouse in Geelong. It is new, immaculately clean and very comfortable. Fantastic location just a short walk to the water and a few minutes drive to central (website hidden) was a thoroughly professional host and went out of her way to make us feel welcome! Thanks to Jo for a great (website hidden) was welcoming and the place is kept nicely, breakfast supplies were generous, and just a short walk to the beach.
Jo's downstairs apartment was awesome. Very modern, clean and well kept. Unfortunately Jo was in Melbourne for the day and we didn't get a chance to meet, but she seemed very friendly and helpful on the phone. I would highly recommend Jo's place!

I was born in Scotland and came here as a young child. I have had a very busy life which included raising five children, teaching, travelling, studying and managing my business as a garden designer. All five children are independent so I now live alone, however, I am still very busy - still involved with family, still teaching, still travelling and still, generally, enjoying my life.
I have been delighted with my move to Rippleside and love hosting airbnb guests. I'd like to think that my reviews reflect how much I enjoy this new enterprise and foray into tourism/hospitality.
