  • Excellent choice for exploring the Bariloche area! Ashley was a tremendous help; everything from picking us up a bus pass (so we could get going straight away and avoid the lineups) to his detailed book full of maps, itineraries and great suggestions, he had all the boxes ticked for his guests to make the most of their time. His place is lovely, clean and well positioned to everything of interest and on a quiet street as well.

  • Ashley's cottage 5km out of Bariloche exceeded our expectations. It was clean, well equipped, and only a few steps away from super cheap bus service back into town or out to trailheads for superb hiking. Ashley has the hosting part nailed. His Bariloche guide was fantastic and he was also able to answer a variety of random questions. We highly recommend this property. It is a great base to explore the mountains around Bariloche and the city. We did not have a car and didn't really need one because the property was so well situated. Great choice for an excellent stay

  • In Bariloche for a course in Spanish, we enjoyed very much having such a nice, quiet and well kept place to relax as well as doing our homework. Ashley is a very friendly and helpful british 'bloke', made us feel at home right away.
Returning next year for a year in both Argentina & Chile, we'll certainly stop over again.

  • We can't say enough good things about Ashley and the Cottage! My husband, 3-yr old and I loved our time here and only wish we could have stayed longer.
The cottage is cozy and comfortable for a couple and child, and looks as good in real life as it did in the pictures. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked that we could easily cook there for our 2 week+ stay. Beds were comfortable, great shower, and it was nice to have outdoor seating for eating outside during nice weather.
Despite all the good things people said about Ashley, we were still blown away by how helpful he was. He lent us gear, books, and even a pie pan from his own home for a thanksgiving pumpkin pie. The guide he's created for the area is incredibly useful and he's happy to provide extra tips on hikes, restaurants, etc. He even helped us find a pre-school for our daughter before we'd finalized our stay with him!!! Ashley truly goes far above and beyond and we really enjoyed interacting with him.
The location is great in terms of access to city center, hikes, and neighborhood shops. We spent the first week without a car and were able to do a lot by bus, and then rented a car for the remainder of our time to be more on our own schedule.
On top of all this, our daughter can't get enough of the casita and mini play area that's two houses down at the end of the cottage's dead-end road. She's loved playing with the neighborhood kiddos and has asked if we can stay...as in, indefinitely.
Thanks for a great stay Ashley!

  • I can’t begin to describe how much we enjoyed our stay at the cottage! Ashley the landlord is one of, if not the very best hosts we have ever had using airbnb. Every review you read about him is absolutely true and we can’t thank him enough for all his help!

To start, we rented an apartment in the center from another airbnb person named Ana (don’t rent from her!). It was the worst airbnb experience ever. Her apartment was completely misrepresented, dirty, nasty, hair everywhere, just the worst. As such, we decided to cancel our reservation but needed another place to go first. We hopped on airbnb and contacted Ashley about another listing of his which, unfortunately, was no longer available, but he suggested we stay in the cottage. At that point we would have stayed anywhere but Ana’s apartment, so we agreed to stay a week at his cottage.

Once we got over to the property we knew instantly we made the right decision! This place is just perfect. It’s extremely comfortable, spacious, and the woodwork is just beautiful. The location is absolutely perfect, as we learned that most of the best restaurants and activities are actually closer to the cottage then the center. The center to be honest was pretty grimy. If you are thinking it’s going to be like Lake Tahoe you might have a little shock when you get here. So staying in the cottage was the perfect alternative.

Ashley himself is not only a great person, but also an amazing landlord. He has a binder with detailed descriptions on just about everything from hikes and excursions to restaurants and beach suggestions. It was like our bible for the week and made our stay absolutely perfect.

I can go on and on about what a great experience it was, but I think you get the point. If you are coming to Bariloche you should strongly consider staying at the cottage or at least one of Ashley’s properties. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Lovely place in a lovely neighborhood. Great interior decoration. Ashley was a great host, very accessible and very informative, with a notebook of information especially useful for outdoors activities! Plenty of bus transportation.

  • I recently stayed at this cottage with my husband and 2 year old daughter. We had a really good time and felt very much at home. Ashley provided us with some useful information regarding sightseeing / restaurants. The cottage is situated on a residential street / cul-de-sac with a small but very cute playground at the end of the street. Our daughter loved playing there with kids who live on the same street .

  • The cottage is adorable, very cute, cosy and has everything you need to enjoy a great vacation. Ashley was very friendly and helpful, provided us with recomendations and tips what to do and where to go. The cottage is within walking distance from a grocery store and the bus station, and to one of the best restaurnts we met- La Salamandra- dont miss it!

  • First of all the cottage looks just like the pictures - like a great little hobbit house! It is spacious with everything that you would need as well as a comfortable bed and living area. Although not directly in the town center, this is a huge asset since it is about equi-distance from the center and LLau Llau so you can quickly go in either direction. The cottage is about a block away from the #20 bus stop which takes you to all the main destinations in town and all the way to the Llau Llau hotel (NOTE: locals pronounce "ll" as "sh" so don't get confused...).

And Ashley could not have been nicer or more helpful. He has so much useful information about the area in a binder that he provides, along with maps. Aside from this, he was always available whenever we had questions and even jumped in with offers to help book a rental car for us when we were having trouble getting this accomplished from the US. He also gave us his bus card so that we could quickly and easily get around on our first day. Such a warm and gracious host!
