There is street parking and no permits needed. There is often a spot directly opposite the car deck. If you are arriving very late at night let me know and I will give you my space on the deck and take a street spot.

There is a quaint town with cute stores and lots of hike and bike rides. I have a whole list of attractions and rental outlets that I will leave for you in your room.
- take the ferry to the city
- paddle board around the bay
- hike mount tam
- bike to Tiburon and have lunch on the harbour at Sams
- walk to Mill Valley and lunch at The Depot in the village square
This house is unique in that it was built on the site of Sausalitos water tower so it is 22 steps down from street level and has a private walled garden.
Just so you know, I have a small 12lb dog called Mocha. He is curious and checks the property for raccoon damage each morning so you may see him. Careful he's a lover!
The apartment will be professionally cleaned for your arrival after 3pm.
Check out is 11am.
There is a welcome manual with all the information that you need upon arrival.
The location was lovely & very quiet. We did get our fair share of exercise walking to town & back & now have buns of steel but that is good in our book. The bed is comfortable & we slept well. We had a small issue with a window latch, but it was handled right away & with no inconvenience to us. We were happy to have a washer dryer because it was much cooler on our trip that we expected, so we ended up having to re-wear our warmer clothing. I would just love to see the beautiful art pieces that are in the space, hanging on the wall!! We enjoyed our stay here. Thank You
It was very easy to reach Tanyia and communicate with her prior to our arrival. We were able to use washer/dryer which was very useful to us. The apartment was as shown in the pictures with gorgeous views onto the trees and Tanyia had reserved a special suprise for us: wine and sweets. We really enjoyed our time and hope to come back soon!
I thoroughly loved my time in this fantastic house in the trees! Tanyia was exceptionally helpful and gave wonderful recommendations of restaurants and bars...
We loved our time in Sausalito, the location was fantastic and it was a highlight from our trip across California!
I'd recommend the Tree House to anyone.
I will be back the next time I'm in the states.
This is a wonderful, cozy and beautifully appointed appartment perched on a hillside in Sausalito. Everything is new and very tastefully done. It is like living in a plush birds nest high in the trees. Tanyia has thought of every detail. I was only here for 2 night but I could have stayed for 2 weeks very easily. The bed is extremely comfortable. There is a excellent small library in the bedroom. Storage is handled very cleverly and as a result there is no clutter anywhere. Tanyia provided a bottle of wine and breakfast for the first morning, both of which were greatly appreciated. This would be a perfect place for a couple. There is a large couch in the living room that would easily sleep 2 kids as well. I have only the most positive things to say about this place and I would highly recommend it. In fact, I hope to come back.
I should add that Saucilito is the perfect base for exploring San Francisco and the Headlands north of the city. You can take a ferry from the Sauciloto dock and be in San Francisco 15 minutes later. Parking is very expensive in the city so commuting from Saucilito is a great alternative to staying in the city. Tanyia's place is only a short drive to some of the lovliest hiking on the California coast, with sweeping views to the sea. The Muir Woods are also only a 15 mintute drive way.
Bottom line -- I loved it.
Such a cozy place to stay. Bed was very comfortable and nice to have the extra space in the living room. Taniya responded right away. Very easy to book.
We had a great weekend in the house in the trees! Very quiet and cozy. The unit was accurately described...just in case you don't pick up on this in the listing description...LOTS OF STAIRS. Not a problem for us, but I did wish I had packed a tad less as I lugged my suitcase down two flights of fairly steep stairs...and back up when we left ;) We walked into town for breakfast one morning (good 15-20 min) and took a different way back (different staircases in the neighborhood rather than the steep hill we had walked down). GREAT exercise, but more for a breakfast or lunch adventure....not something I would advise doing for dinner and then walking back in the dark (it's less than 5 min drive into town). The town of Sausalito is adorable, and its proximity to San Francisco, not to mention other fun places like Tiburon, Muir Beach makes it the perfect weekend getaway. Was our first Airbnb experience and I'm excited to return!

About the Host, Tanyia
I am a global ethnographer so I am on the road a lot. It's my job to meet people from all walks of life. Recently I spent a year in China researching women across the country and so why not open my home up and meet people in my own back garden so to speak!
This is my home and it has a second unit with a private entrance so you may never actually see me if that's more comforting!
I have rented this home many times with Homeaway where there are lots of great reviews. Please check this out if you would like to see the rest of the house to give you a better idea of your space.
I look forward to meeting you.
I love this place for a reasonable and simple breakfast with a million dollar few.
This is a hole in the wall locals place for Indian food - on the locals street. Get the chicken tikka masala plate.
Hipster place for coffee although they also interesting, healthy breakfast and lunch options.
People come from the city to eat these inventive, if a little pricey dishes. It can be packed so make sure to get a reservation.
Eclectic pizza with a great water view and of course a bocce court. I love to hang by the firepit with an early evening cocktail here.
A great place for an interesting wine flight on a pier on the harbour. They have limited food but you can walk a few steps to bar bocce or sushi ran.
This is a great place to rent paddle boards. $20 per hour and that gives you time to make it out to the bay and to the Sausalito ferry or further!
Owned by Tyler Florence and so they serve heart californian version of comfort food! The patio is the best spot on a sunny evening...appetizers are great.
Tuesday nights is comedy with Mark Pitta and friends. You never know who the friends will be. I've been surprised and Robin Williams has shown up to do a set. It's a local crowd and great fun!
Great live music venue, organic gourmet cafe.
This is gourmet ghetto of farmers market complete with oysters and champagne. Take the ferry from Sausalito for a an amazing arrival to the city.
They do a fantastic chefs tasting menu with wine for something like $35 on a Monday night. One of the best restaurants in Marin.
Great place to stop or hike to for lunch. Wonderful views over the bay from their deck. Healthy light Californian cuisine.
